I really like this Martin’s, but the only downside is that they usually have just two lines open with very slow cashiers. That being said, the cashiers are usually friendly. If I ever have questions or issues, customer service has been a great help.

Friendly staff but the lines take way too long. There were two people ahead of me and it took 20 minutes and neither of them had more than 15 items. I think my average wait time in line is 12 minutes regardless of how many people are there.

this only gets 2 stars because it actually has *somewhat* of a selection(compared to Staples Mill/Dumbarton). Also, if you’d like to die a slow, agonizing death while the world’s slowest cashiers operate 1 or two lanes at 7:00 in the evening, then this is your store. You want friendly? I swear these employees work part time here and full time at the Broad St DMV. Drive a little further and go to another chain. Even with the added drive time, it’ll STILL be a faster trip.

It’s a fairly convenient location, and they still Ukrop’s Kitchen, so I guess I’ll go there now and then. But don’t ever try to call to order anything. They’ll leave you on hold all day long.

They don’t care and it shows… Chances are if this your Martin’s it’s only because it is the closest grocery store to you. There are dozens of better options but they are inconvenient. I live 2 miles from this Martin’s and from time to time, I will actually drive the extra 15 minutes to another grocery store just to avoid this place. The cashiers and front end staff are generally unfriendly if not rude. More often then not, there is one checkout lane open. Even if you have 8 or 10 customers in line, it will take a collective stare down with the front end staff to get them to get away from whatever casual conversation they are having. Want some eye-rolling with your customer service? This is the place for you. Avoid if you can.

Tonight was the first time I’ve been to this Martin’s, and I doubt it will be the last since it’s the closest one to my new hood. Unfortunately, the experience was absolutely«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Granted, I decided that 9:30pm on a Saturday evening was the opportune time to check out this grocery store so it’s partly my bad. The bf and I were moving all day, followed by the beginning stages of unpacking, so dinner was the last thing on either of our minds. I didn’t want pizza and I couldn’t decide on take-out so I figured hitting up the supermarket was the next best option. Since I’ve never been to this location in daylight, making my first appearance by myself at night was probably not the best choice. It was a tad sketchy, with an almost deserted parking lot and an even more deserted store. Not that I minded shopping alone(or being one of 3 customers in the store), but it was a far cry from my usual busy grocery store experiences. But the atmosphere is not why I give this store a 2. That rating is based purely on the woman manning check-out. She did not speak a single word to me throughout the entire check-out process. No hello. No how are you. No you’re welcome. No have a good night. Oh wait, I take that back. She did ask me if I had my Martin’s card with me — but not a single word other than that. Oh, and she barely looked at me. To make it worse, she was engaging in conversation with co-workers while I stood there barely acknowledged. C’mon. I don’t expect a chatty cathy at 9:30pm on a Saturday, but common courtesy would be great. I really don’t think it’s too much to ask. Here’s hoping this was a fluke visit and next time will be better. If not, then I might have to reconsider my shopping and forgo convenience for an enjoyable experience.
