Mi Hacienda

This place has moved up 3 spots on my favorite Tex-​Mex spots tonight (which is saying something coming from a native Texan). I have had the absolute best experience I’ve ever had at an affordable restaurant. The service was out of its league, it’s seriously the type of service I’d expect at a much nicer place. The food was not mind blowing but it was very good and worthy of praise. I give this place a rock-​solid 4.5stars but I’ve voted 5 to help bring its average up a smidgen. :) I don’t know our waitresses name but she’s seriously incredible.

We got here late around 10:30pm and service was still awesome, the food was great!!! Will be back.

Okie so we go here all the time then stop for a short period of time tonight we went and we are so disappointed from the service to the food everywhere has changed ugh we don’t think we going to come back anytime soon while we was there our dip didn’t come out til our entrees did which was so late then food was a disaster the tacos didn’t have onions nor cilantro nor lime when we were asking for it the ladies looked frustrated with our table smh then when it came to my barbcoba de res which is slow cook beef but I believe they gave my carnitas instead because it taste look and everything like pork I was so unhappy then when it was time for the check our lady didn’t come til 10 mins late and turns out someone’s car got robbed outside so let’s just say it was a very interesting and sad experience

Although I give it a 3.5 stars for food, the clean and beautifully decorated atmosphere and takeout service would get a 5
I ordered #10 lunch special of two green tamales with rice and beans, and four tacos consisting of two el pastor and two carne asada and chorizo tacos. Everything was well prepared and what I expected without any complaints about flavor or being over cooked or under seasoned, but the tacos were on the small side and for $ 9 I expected a little bit more. But still all in all it was a good meal.
This is more Americanized fare, similar to what you would find at la milpa, but was prepared well and was very flavorful with an array of salsas and of course tortilla chips, but in this case they were multi colored with green and red that I could have done without, but I’m sure children would love, along with plain color. The salsa accompanying the chips was tasty and pureed in texture.
Although the outside might give you pause as to what you’ll find inside, when entering the whole atmosphere changes and is absolutely beautiful; perfect for an intimate date night with colorfully decorated large booths lining the perimeter and very nice tables in the sunken dining area if you should choose.
For drinks an adjoining bar would suit you well and is also very lovely and expansive.
I highly recommend going for the atmosphere and the good food you’ll find inside.

I love the carnitas. So good. I’ve been twice and that’s the only thing I’ve gotten so far. I tried the wings and they are really good too.

This place has great lunch specials, the food was wonderful! The only thing I didn’t appreciate is that the service was not good at all. We got our food very quickly, but once she left the table we did not see her again until we had to ask her for our tickets. I consider myself a very understanding person when it comes to things like that but when there are only four tables we should not have had any issues.

First review I’ve ever done, I live right down the street from this place and I regret not coming here along time ago! Food was amazing, environment was really nice.

This place always seems to be empty when I go but it is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The staff is always so nice and friendly. The food is delicious as well. They always start you off with chips and salsa which are fresh and warm. I always order the seafood chimichanga and it never disappoints. Their agua frescas and margaritas are delicious as well.

One of Richmond’s good Mexican Restaurants. One of my stops from time to time for Mexican. Always quick service and of course good food. I like the burritos and Fajitas. The restaurant is nice inside. It’s clean and neat. Pleasant folks. You’ll enjoy it.

The place style is so cool and our waiter was so nice. They have really good spicy salsa. Their guacamole is just average. We had the Mi Hacienda special which was good, and the seafood Chimichanga which was amazing. Prices are ok. I would definitely go there again.

Large and open dining area which is nicely decorated. Great music, ambiance and service. Large portion sizes and tasty chips and dip! The ranch based dip is especially addictive! Good luck trying not to eat all of it and get full before your entrée comes.

Went here for lunch with some coworkers. The restaurant was clean but a little empty but being empty doesn’t the restaurant or food isn’t good. We were greeted at the door and seated promptly. I ordered the lunch quesadilla, a grilled tortilla, stuffed with beef tips or shredded Chicken, I got the beed tips, and Cheese. Served with Lettuce, Tomato, and Sour Cream, $ 5.99 + tax. My coworkers got a steak, egg and cheese burrito, $ 6.85 + tax, the lunch special #9 which was a chicken burrito with a chicken enchilada topped with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The food came out pretty quick, about 15 minutes, and our waiter came to check on us frequently. My quesadilla was pretty good and the beef tips were tender and had good flavor but my coworkers said that the food was just okay but they did say that they would come back and try something else.
Overall, the service was good, and the food was good as well. I would recommend this place more for dinner when the restaurant is more lively to really get the full experience of the restaurant

Mi Hacienda is an excellent place for all your Mexican food needs, and it definitely won’t break the bank either.
I saw a Groupon offer here recently, so decided to give them a try. On both of the occasions I used them, it was a great experience. My friend and I arrived relatively early (around 5:30 for dinner), so it was quite empty. The service was great and our waitress made frequent callbacks to refill waters. I like the décor and ambiance of the place, it strikes me as very authentic and pleasing to the eye.
The food here is stellar, and the fact that you can have french fries as a side is an awesome hat-​tip to Gringos like me who like a side of fries with everything. The portions are great and will definitely leave you full, and the chips they give you in the beginning make for a good appetizer as well (though they give you ranch as a dipping sauce for some reason, dunno why; order a queso dip for the chips, you won’t regret it!).
Even without the Groupon, this place is a great deal and definitely warrants a return trip. Viva Mi Hacienda!

— When the place is empty, the front desk tends to be empty as well. You may end up waiting a few minutes for someone to come and seat you.
