What an unpleasant experience. Upon walking into the shop we were met with glares and an emotionless«can i help you?» I explained I just needed a trim. One of the girls said yeah Brandy can help you and gestured to a disgruntled dark haired woman. She walked over pointed to a chair then excused herself to go smoke. When I asked if i could use the restroom she rolled her eyes at me and pointed to a doorway. After using the restroom I sat in the chair and waited, and waited. She came back in after a good 15 minutes, said«sorry so and sos dad was out there and we got to talking. He’s mad at me for smoking but I gotta do me its who I am» She then proceeded to tell me I needed to cut the dead off my ends I said ok that’s fine. Without so much as wetting my hair or asking if I needed it washed she started cutting my ends off in big chunks. I immediately told her I had had a layered cut. She very rudly replied theres layers here, they’re still there. She asked how I do my bangs I told her side swept to the right. She said like this? And gestured. I said yes like that and she proceeded to cut them straight across. NOTWHAT I WANTEDORSAID. She proceeded to check the length and discover she had cut the left side WAYSHORTERTHANTHEOTHER. Upon seeing this she rudely tells me it must be the way you’re sitting, and proceeds to hack more of my hair off. Durring this ordeal she spent a great amount of time essentially trying to bully my mother, who was patiently waiting, into getting her hair done, arguing with her daughter on the phone, and complaining non stop about her life. At the end she shoved business cards in our faces. When I went to pay she says to me, the tip button is right there before I could even look at her phone. So now here I am with the second worst hair cut I’ve had in my life. The ends are all choppy and uneven and I have bangs I didnt want. I leave for the virgin islands in 3 days with my hair like this and I’m absolutely mortified. Avoid this place at all costs.

Went in for a pedicure, which was $ 30. I found that to be pretty reasonable, on par with what I paid for cheap Wal-Mart pedicures back in Illinois, and far below what I would pay at a salon or spa. The Good: They have a very nice, new massage chair. I found the pedicurist to be friendly and maintained conversation the whole time. They had a pretty good selection of OPI and China Glaze polishes, including some ‘trendy’ colors. She did a very good job getting rid of the cracked skin on my heels(gross, I know!) The Not So Good: The pedicure chair is pretty out in the open, meaning you are right next to a hair stylist and the waxing room, as well as an entrance. I was able to hear conversations from the waxing room while my feet soaked, not the most relaxing environment. There isn’t anywhere to really sit and wait after the pedicure is finished, I felt pretty rushed to leave and ended up ruining the polish on one of my toes because it wasn’t completely dry. She also left some smudges where polish had touched the skin. They weren’t horrible, but not great either. The Bad: When she was removing my existing polish(or at some other point), my cuticle was damaged, leaving a cut. It’s no fun getting a pretty pedicure, only to have to wear a bandage on my big toe to avoid anything getting into the cut! If I were to go back, I’d probably ask to not have my cuticles clipped, just to be on the safe side. As a side note, when I was getting my pedicure done, a customer came in who had her hair hacked by one of their newer stylists. I know this can happen anywhere and sometimes stylists have bad days, but it didn’t make me feel comfortable going there to get my hair cut in the future. Although, she was coming back to get it fixed by another stylist, who she seemed to trust, so there must be some good stylists in the salon.
