Great service. They know what they are doing (I know how to fix car A/​C, I just don’t presently own the specialty equipment.). They asked the right questions which meant they are good trouble shooters. I made an appt for later in the week and everything was taken care of. I’m going back again for other stuff. Super convenient for where I work.

Great old school garage. I do a lot of work on my own car but hate working on my Ford van. They changed the water pump for cheap and patched my leaking power steering rack for free. Woo hoo! No more Arms Armstrong trying to make turns.

I had just purchased a Mitsubishi Spyder convertible only to discover it badly needed new front shocks, I bought the car in Blackhawk, where the roads are smooth as glass and sounded fine during the test drive, but while driving the car home it rattled like chitty-​chitty-​bang-​bang.

I took it in for an inspection at Narasaki’s and they told me it badly needed front shocks as well as easing my mind concerning several costly repairs that the car did not need. They gave me an exceptionally reasonable estimate for installation, (both front and rear because I figured it might handle slightly better and the rear ones would wear out soon anyway), and even helped me decide on the brand I bought new shocks mail order to save a few pennies and brought them into them to them to install. During the installation they discovered that one of the CV axle boots was cracked and leaking and needed replacing. The mechanic then examined the the other cv joint and told me it was beginning to crack near the top and that while it was okay now, it would soon go bad, so I had both replaced.
The estimated prices for these services listed by online automotive repair estimators ranged from $ 1,100 ~ $ 1,800 and the final bill was only $ 820. These guys efficient, conscientious, do excellent work, are reasonably priced. When I asked about the price being so low, they explained that since the front end was already disassembled for the shocks, so the labor cost was reduced for replacing the axle/​half shafts.
I pretty much only drive older cars, (I think only once in my life have I owned a car that was less than seven years old), and physical disabilities pretty much prevent me from most wrenching, and so I’m constantly searching for an honest, reliable mechanic. I can’t see myself ever taking my car or my wife’s to any other mechanic. These guys are great. The only disadvantage to using them is that there’s no waiting room, except a small chair in the front office, and the shop itself, while right off the
interstate 580 freeway and extremely easy to drive to, is in the middle of an industrial nowhere. Be prepared to drop your car off and have a friend drive you to and from the shop, (though there is a nearby Fast food joint they’ll drive you if you need to wait).

Narasaki’s is great! It’s hard to find a shop these days that knows how to diagnose and repair in such an efficient fashion. New, old, even hybrids! I was shocked to see them working on both an old carburated truck alongside a hybrid. Al Jr. was honest with me, telling me what fixes were most important, and which I should keep my eye on (like a potential leak in the future). They fixed my car on time AND at a reasonable price! Will recommend them to all my friends/​coworkers…

Very honest, fast and friendly. Like some other reviewers I too was quoted a very fair price over the phone and invoiced LESS. How amazing is that? They fixed my jeep in no time and even did a little extra that I was NOT charged for. Great guys and I like their office dog too!

Why oh why has it taken me so long to praise Narasaki’s? We were first referred to them by a friend years ago, and since they were literally a hop, skip, and jump away from us in the Marina Bay neighborhood of Richmond, it fit with our «shop local» ideals. We have NEVER regretted it!
We aren’t the best about preventative maintenance on our vehicles, and luckily both are very dependable and low maintenance to begin with. The upshot is that we visit the Narasakis’ shop maybe once a year, if that, so we’re far from big ticket customers. But Al and Al Jr. ALWAYS remember us by name. They say they remember the cars and therefore the people. But whatever the reason, that’s the kind of customer service that is far too uncommon these days. They are always friendly, straightforward, fast, and in our experience pretty much right on their estimate if not below! I don’t think I’ve ever been to another shop where I was given a reasonable estimate, and then invoiced for LESS.
The only time they were unable to fix a problem, they were very up front about it and why, referred me to the dealer, and didn’t charge me for the work they did (or, if I remember correctly, even the new part they installed). And they have never tried to up-​sell us on any repair.
I guess this took me so long to post because, deep down, I fear them becoming too popular and I’ll have to wait in a long line. But that will be good for them, so I guess I don’t really mind. Take your car to Narasaki’s…it may well prove to be the best decision you’ve ever made.

My Lexus brakes had been squealing irritatingly recently and the Lexus dealer wanted $ 800 to fix them… Ouch… So it was fortunate when a co-​worker recommended Narasaki’s. Not only is it close to my office in the Richmond Marina area, but their work is solid and the prices are very fair.
There are 3 generations of the family working at Narasaki’s, a company that has been in business since the 70’s, I believe. I found them to be trustworthy, honest, friendly, and knowlegeable
