Neighborhood Resource Center

I love the Neighborhood Resource Center of Greater Fulton Hill. I have been volunteering there on and off for several years. They do a lot of great work, lots of stuff I don’t even know about I’m sure. Just to cover some of the basics though — they do homework tutoring for children every school day, have children’s classes and programs pretty much every day, have a sliding scale Montessori preschool, have classes for adults including GED training and recreational things like dance and yoga, a recording studio, an organic garden, a farm stand, a coffee bar serving Tall Bike Coffee from Lamplighter, a kitchen with vegan cooking classes, a computer lab, a satellite center for homework tutoring in a nearby apartment complex, they do a 5k/​10k Hill Run every October, assist people in finding jobs, and that’s just scratching the surface. They are always adding new facilities and programs. Very inspiring little place created by residents of Fulton Hill for residents of Fulton Hill.
