It seems my experience was just like the majority of the reviews. When I walked in everything seemed great, waiting room was clean and the front desk staff member was friendly. Another family got upset because they had been waiting for an hour and a half. When I heard that I was about to get a refund for my copay. However, the receptionist told the family they were next so I decided I would wait around. Soon after that the receptionist got up and went outside. Moments later we(the entire waiting room) heard his verbal escalation outside with someone. I complained because it was very unprofessional and startled the child with the family waiting. The family that had been waiting then decided to get their copay back and leave. Which meant I was next to go back. A lady walked in to be seen during the craziness and almost immediately walked right back out. So they lost 2 patients during such a short period of time. The technician that brought me back was nice enough. The xray technician was very nice and prompt once I was placed in the exam room. I’m writing this as waiting for the doctor to come review my results in hopes this review spares someone of having this same experience!

We recently took our child to the Three Chopt location for an emergency situation, received a relatively serious diagnosis, followed-up with their referred local sports ortho specialist — who was fantastic and very reputable, and found out the diagnosis from Ortho On Call was completely wrong and off base. To pay a deductible to see an emergency specialist, spend money on injury support equipment based on the diagnosis and then take time off from work and school for a follow-up referral only to reveal the pain is a result from«growing pains» was absolutely mind-blowing. Time and money wasted and lost. My hope is that the experiences at the other locations are not the same. But my guess is that if it has happened to me, I am certain it will — or already has, happened to other patients company-wide. As a consumer advocate, I diagnose Ortho On Call at Three Chopt with«growing pains» and cannot see myself recommending them. Trust is earned.

After months of thinking and treating a hairline fracture, what DH really had was gout. It seems no one at Ortho on Call or their follow-up/referral doc ever considered this to be a possibility. All those months of pain in a silly boot were absolutely pointless.
