Pink is most certainly an upscale boutique… unfortunately, I suspect that I may not be an upscale shopper, so please bear that in mind to balance the poor rating. I have never managed to find anything in my size [I’m not huge, I argue, except in Europe where anyone over a size six is a whale] that I found even remotely appealing and the jewelry always seems rather overpriced. I have lusted after several of the purses but having had disappointing experiences from the beginning, I have not ventured in more recently when I might actually have been able to shell out for a designer bag.

It seems only fitting that my 50th review be fashion related. After all, I’m a tad clothes obsessed and I have the closet to prove it. Lucky for me, Pink is the provider of some of my most coveted designer duds. Talk about a fashionista’s dream! Step into Pink and you’ll wish you could take home one of everything. From the amazing of-the-moment frocks to the awesomely on-trend shoes to the unique jewelry reflecting all colors of the rainbow, Pink’s got something to fill a gap in any closet. This bright boutique located adjacent to Cary Court carries lines like Tibi, Rebecca Minkoff, Shoshanna, Butter(my favorite shoes, thanks to Pink!), 12th St by Cynthia Vincent, just to name a few, and it totally rivals shops found in fashion capitals. I’m a stickler for customer service and Pink totally steps up its game and wows me on every visit. Rebecca and Jamie are absolutely fabulous and they’ve helped me find the perfect ensemble on more than one occasion. Join the email list and you’ll be privy to upcoming sales, promotions, and fashion-filled events. In fact, they just had an Elizabeth & James trunk show(sorry to say I missed that one!). Yes, the shop is pricey, but that’s just the nature of contemporary designer clothing. If you want a Rebecca Taylor blouse or a DVF dress, you’re going to cough up some dough no matter where you purchase the items. Sure it may put a hurtin’ on the wallet in the moment, but you can’t argue with quality. And that trumps all in my opinion– my bf may choose to argue with that, but I’m sticking to my guns on this one!

Pink is a great little boutique, but it would be so awesome if they had more items in the average person’s price range. It’s very comparable to the prices found in TBD/Savvy at Nordstrom. Items the average person could purchase once in a while or on sale. Definitely a splurge spot. I definitely enjoyed the Marc by Marc bags hanging out on the shelves. There was a hot pink leather one that caught my eye. WHY oh why do I have to be a broke student?! I was expecting bad service coming in from reading the previous reviews, but the sales girl was super sweet and greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed any help. So it looks like they’ve done some rehiring.

I have been to Pink a few times and the staff has been nothing but helpful and so awesome! The first time I went in was because there was a pair of shoes that caught my eye. Needless to say, I have had sooo many compliments, anywhere from NY to Chicago! The store is what’s needed in Richmond. It’s trendy, hot, and has some great designers. Yes, it isn’t cheap but like the saying goes, «When you buy cheap, you buy twice!»

I really like Pink. Okay, yes, it’s an expensive place to shop, but they sell high-end designer clothes. What do you expect? There’s a great selection from the likes of Marc Jacobs, Elizabeth and James, Splendid, Velvet, Tracy Reese, Diane Von Furstenberg and some neat up-and-coming designers. While I can’t afford a ton in the way of apparel, I can afford plenty from the jewelry case, which I love. There’s both designer and bargain jewelry that’s always fun and trendy. I’ve scored wooden bangles, cool collar necklaces, dangly earrings and more. It’s also a great place to find cool gifts for friends. Although there aren’t a ton of sale items, there is usually a section of sale things in one jewelry case and there’s usually a rack of sale clothing upstairs. I’ve also always found the staff to be very friendly. Once when I complimented an associate’s eye makeup she actually wrote down all the colors she had on in case I wanted to go purchase them from MAC(which I did). They’ve also been completely helpful when I’ve been looking for gifts in certain price ranges. Join the email list to learn about trunk shows and other special events that happen during Carytown First. Pink also now offers a reward system where points are recorded from previous purchases that get you discounts on future spends.

i have NOOO idea what the below« Unilocalers» are talking about when they diss this shop! as a seasoned fellow retailer and buyer myself, Pink is by far one of the few fashion gems out there. outstanding windows and displays, amazing jewelry and accessories, perfectly edited shoe selection and all of my favorite designers! DVF, Rebecca Taylor, Cynthia Vincent, Marc by Marc Jacobs. I HEART you big time PINK!!! OH and let me not forget the dolls that work the sales floor at Pink, the 2 owners are brilliant and every other gal i’ve come across here has been more than helpful and kind!

Pink’s clothing is a bit uninspired, though their buyer did choose some nice pieces from the Marc by Marc Jacobs fall line. The jewelry collection is much better, with many pieces from boutique New York designers. The tart, slightly cool girl behind the cases helped me a pick a lovely set of mixed metal honeycomb earrings, and warmly invited us back. Good for a little browsing.

The shopgirl locked the door right in my face at 5:59. They close at 6 p.m. on Saturdays(a little strange to begin with). I did the coy, try-to-open move, and another shop girl deftly ignored me while she straightened flyers. The one who locked me out caught my eye as I cut across the lot toward American Apparel. I motioned to her«what the fuck» in various forms of sign language but she just looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe she thought I was from Baltimore.
