Hands dow best pizza in the West end. I would not recommend dining in. My family eats here at least once a month. They also have good wing, calzones, and subs

We love pizza express, they are in my top 5 pizza in Richmond, but this is not for dining in. We either have food delivered or go pick up. In addition to pizza, they have a lot of other Italian specialties, subs, calzone, burgers, salads, and great appetizers; like mac and cheese bites, pierogies, zucchini sticks. The people who work there are very friendly, and the prices are very good, too. If you are in the west end Regency area, and you love NY style pizza, I highly recommend Pizza Express.

VERYDISAPPOINTED!!! The 1st time I called to order from Pizza Express I was told at 945pm on a Saturday night that it was too late for me to place an order for delivery or take out because they would be closing at 1030pm. I wasn’t aware that they had a 45 minute cut off time for call in orders prior to closing. Yea I knew the girl on the phone was lying, what I didn’t find out until later that she was the manager. I tried again tonight because my husband wanted to try their jalapeño poppers that all his friends have been raving about. When my order got to me more than an hour later not only was it wrong, it was also cold and the pizza looked like it had been dropped upside down. I opened the box and all the cheese and toppings were all over the box top. I called to let them know what happened and again spoke to Jen, the same manager who lied to me before about the time limit for call in orders. Not only was she rude, she was argumentative telling me that she did not get my order wrong. Another hour later we got our replacement pizza and the correct appetizer only to be again DISAPPOINTED because the food was not all that good. $ 30 for a pizza that was only 6 slices and appetizers that were nearly burnt is not a good deal to me. Needless to say, I will not be a return customer and I will let others know about my VERY bad experience with Pizza Express. Which btw, an hour wait for pizza delivery is not exactly what I would consider express, js.

The Pizza here is GREAT! My entire family loves it and we order here several times a week!

Tastes just like home! Being from New Jersey, the pizza here tastes a lot like home. The sauce on the pizza was perfect, and the entire pizza was perfectly made. However I only give it four stars because although it’s not the best pizza I’ve had, it is very good and perfect for one of those nights where you just want a pizza. Overall this place is really good!

I joined Unilocal just so i could leave this review. The pizza is great– no doubt about it! my complaint is that every time I get a pizza delivered it comes w/all the toppings on one slide of the pizza! Like the delivery guy is carrying the pizza box under his arm instead of flat in his hands. I’ve had this happen 3 times. Tonight they came back for the messed up pizza & when i opened the fresh pizza it looked just as bad as the one they took away. i tried calling back but of course nobody would answer this time. Even though I love their pizza I will NOT be ordering from them ever again.

I don’t understand why people buy these pizzas. I’ve had pizza express on 4 occasions(that I recall) and have been dissatisfied every time. My absolute biggest complaint is the crust. 3 of the times it was undercooked, and 1 time it was burnt nearly all black on the bottom. If you just look at the edges of the sliced pizzas, you can notice it’s undercooked. It looks off. It tastes off. And it’s chewy, but not from the cheese and not from being well cooked bread. Some pizzas get soggy from delivery time, but the dough under the cheese was definitely undercooked and not just soggy. Yuck. Very disappointed. Plus, when we called to have our undercooked pizza replaced with something edible, the manager requested that we send the bad pizza back with the driver. When the driver arrived(a very polite and kind and smiling individual) he stated that he was going straight home afterwards and left us with the extra pizza. He didn’t make the mistake, yet they made him come re-deliver a pizza beyond his scheduled hours, and I’m sure they didn’t tip him for it. Of course we could have tipped him again… but I realized… it should not cost me extra money because pizza express made a mistake… And the second pizza was visibly more cooked, but atill underdone. I will spread the word to my friends and neighbors to seek pizza elsewhere. On a side note, pretty darn good wings for a pretty darn bad pizza joint.

The Mediterranean and the pizza named after the owner are above average, as long as you like garlic. Don’t bother with a regular cheese or pepperoni pizza. They overdo the salt a bit, and their crust is not the best I have ever had, but you could do worse.

I have gotten food delivered from here several times. The quality of the food is really not that great. Sauce is too sweet for my tastes. Most recently, pizza came burnt and the manager couldn’t have cared less when I called. Other issues I have had is they are very stingy with toppings like onions and mushrooms. The prices are on the high side. I hate to order from chains but I think I’m starting prefer them to Pizza Express.

This place is in the cut of Quiocassin shopping center. Pizza express provided great customer service. Fresh and hot pizza took about 8 minutes, but it’s definitely worth the wait! I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was delicious! It’s a great spot to take food to go. They have a few tables, but not the size for a group. I am definitely going back to this restaurant soon!

Best ‘Pizza Night’ pizza I’ve had in Richmond. Sauce has a slightly sweet ring to it and the crust toes the line between hard and soft — perfectly doughy. As close to NY style as you’ll get 335 miles south of the city. They also have their act together on the technology and ordering front, so they know who you are when they pick up the phone. Delivery is always punctual and friendly.

Not the worst in town, not the best in town… just average. I love the crust and sauce but the toppings taste just ok. Pizza was a little too greasy and soaked through the box. The wings were better than the pizza and since I used a coupon and got pizza, wings, and soda for $ 17.99, the wings were pretty awesome. Can’t say it will be my go to place for pizza but it will do in a pinch

We’ve been customers of Pizza Express for almost 7 years now. We used to eat in because we loved a hot slice of pizza as opposed to delivery but they did away with most of their seating. So now it is our goto pizza and sub delivery place. Their wraps and subs are delicious and they have the best pizza in Richmond.

Horrible management to go along with their poor customer service! They delivered the wrong order and refused to make it right. Asked if I could at least be issued a credit toward my next order and the manager hung up on me. Extremely rude! Not only have they lost a customer for life, but after this chargeback goes through, they will lose $ 15 as opposed to $ 5 credit which I would have happily accepted as appeasement for their error.

An ad in a local flyer brought my fiancée and I to Pizza Express recently. It’s rare that I agree with both the negative and positive reviews of a place on Unilocal, but Pizza Express is both delicious and disappointing at the same time.(Explanation shortly!) –Food: We ordered our staple pizza: Medium Half Cheese, Half Pepperoni. We ate it there as we normally do, and at first we were very impressed. The sauce is seasoned well unlike some of the blandness of local competition. The pizza has a very nice taste to it as a whole. The crust is nice and firm and has a nice crispness to it. At first. Here comes the disappointing part. In the middle of the second piece, the ingredients and overall grease sets in hard. What was once a crisp piece of pizza is now a soggy piece of dough struggling to hold up its ingredients. I see exactly why people mention that their delivery pizza is greasy and soggy. Now, as odd as it sounds, it doesn’t make it a terrible pizza. It still has a nice taste overall, and honestly, it doesn’t taste greasy(despite it becoming a soppy mess). On a side note, they have a huge menu with other Italian things like Pasta and Sandwiches. some of them looked pretty good, so it’s not out of the question to try these in the future. –Cost: A medium with one topping was about $ 11. About even with local competitors. –Atmosphere: There is one table outside and a couple seats inside. The inside seats appear to be more used for waiting and not dining in. This actually raises a real problem since I don’t think I would want to wait 10 minutes to eat the pizza as I fear it might become too soft to eat then. Delivery would add an extra 10 minutes probably. It’s not that it’s not a nice atmosphere, it’s just not ideal for eating a pizza that doesn’t do well with time passing. –Service: The staff were all pleasant and seemed to enjoy working there. No problems here. They did provide napkins and plates when we said we were eating it there. –Overall: I’m really torn on my opinion here. If I were to rate my experience based solely on the first slice, I’d easily give it a 4 or 5. However, based on the last two slices(and the last one specifically), it starts to become difficult to eat and enjoy. I think the overall experience is greatly hindered by this. I’m not saying I wouldn’t eat here again, as I probably would. It’s just an unfortunate situation of a good tasting pizza that doesn’t hold up well.

Last night’s PE experience has caused me to update this review. My husband ordered the BTG(basil, tomato and garlic) pizza. No tomatoes. add sausage. The pizza arrived in good time and was hot. What we did not expect was the amount of grease on and under the pizza. The box was soaked through with grease. The grease dripped off of each slice of pizza. I am not sure if this from the garlic or what, but it was gross. I always blot my pizza to get the excess grease off, but tonight i had to use three paper towels to blot the top and bottom of the pizza before attempting to eat it. We always used to say that we loved PE because the pizzas were not greasy on the bottom. This is not the case anymore. Will be thinking twice before ordering from them again.

Some of the best pizza in Richmond! Chewy crust, tasty sauce, good cheese — like someone else said, the crust is not greasy on the bottom. One of my favorite pizzas is the white pizza, with ricotta, spinach and broccoli(no red sauce). The spaghetti is decent, the garlic knots are good, but I did not like the calamari.

When we order out, we usually order from here. Good subs and calzones, cheap prices. Love the onion rings(although they seem to have two different types at any given time, a beer battered and crunchy version). Online ordering is a big plus, but you can’t order a side of onion rings that way, so if you want them you have to get a meal(which is a real bummer when you want a calzone and some o-rings!) Only other thing keeping them from 5 stars is that EVERY time we order and select any kind of dressing from the menu, they give us some weird watery italian dressing instead of what was selected. I always as for the3 dressing on the side, but sometimes they put it on my sub anyway and it becomes a soggy mess :(

After a day of home improvement chores, DH and I were in no mood to cook nor were we presentable enough to actually go out in public for dinner. So we opted for pizza and picked Pizza Express based on Unilocaler recommendations. When I placed the order, I had originally asked for delivery. But when she told me it would be a 50 minute wait(in all fairness, it was a busy Friday night), I asked if it would be faster if I came in to get the pizza. Yes, she said, so I changed the order to pick up. When I arrived to pick up the pizza about 15 minutes later, it seems my pizza was given to the delivery guy about 2 minutes earlier. The staff was very apologetic about it and managed to get the delivery guy on the phone so he could return to the store with my dinner. He arrived within 5 minutes and I was on my way home, so all was fine. The overall verdict on the pizza was OK. I would certainly choose them over a national chain.

I really enjoy this place. One of the very few places that have a little bit of everything and deliver. I believe they do a decent burger, fries, onion rings, pizza and calzone. Was not a fan of the batter basket. I would have given 5STARS if it wasn’t for this horrible let down. All obviously bought in pieces of crap and the price for them… well you would not expect what you see… Really loved the delivery guys and the workers at this place along with the food until that basket. Definitely give them a try though. Prices are decent. I order at least 1 – 2 per week and always have great service. Super Fast Delivery
