Point Pinole Regional Shoreline

Good for dog walkers. The view was nice, but the park map was confusing. The website said there was beaches but we couldn’t find them. The bay view trail has one of the best train spotting places I’ve ever encountered

Let’s start with questioning why I haven’t been here before. This park is gorgeous and peaceful. It’s an excellent place to come and walk the trails by the water, and do some thinking. Most people were in jeans and shirts, I’d say if you’re going to be in the sun wear a tank top and shorts, I did and it was fine from 3 – 6 pm.

I absolutely love this place! It is amazing to hike and enjoy the natural beauty of nature. There are a lot is fishermen and a dog friendly place. I have been to this place many times and I will come back again. Love it!

Beautiful, clean, green place to walk/​hike. There are restrooms all along the trail. Great for walking with baby stroller, as most of the path is paved.

I love going on walks here. It is beautiful and well maintained. Great scenery. My only issue is that it doesn’t quite feel as safe as I would hope. Some shifty characters hanging around… Things of that matter. That might not bother some people but it bothers me. Anyway — I just never go alone. Problem solved.

Got here right as the sun began to set. The views of the north bay here are stunning and the trails are perfect for a short evening walk. This is a hidden gem!

My new trails of trails all in one place

Beautiful place for a walk. Great views and good pathways. Easy access from Hwy 80. $ 3.00 to park. Fishing access too.

Beautiful park, perfect for a little hike and picnic. Lots of restrooms close to picnic tables (but no sinks for washing your hands). The best part was how friendly all the fellow walkers/​dog people were!

Great trails to run, hike, or walk. Offers a stellar view of the bay from a different perspective. I would have never come here in the first place if it wasn’t for a half marathon… The route consisted of loops and turns that allowed me to navigate through the entire park. It’s a great place to ride a horse, walk a dog, or take a walk!

Great place for a walk (paved and unpaved), picnic or fishing.

A relaxing hike. The occasional egret.

Blnesy this is my safe Sven and my favorite park to visit in the Bay Area. The scenery is breathtaking and has excellent lighting. A lot of the trails are shielded by trees so it’s an excellent place to run or walk and bike during the summers its regularly patrolled by a park ranger and it’s near the west county detention faculty which makes me feel very safe lol. There’s a pier so you can bring your fishing poles or Head down to the rocky beach and fish from there. The trails are very simple and not difficult at all. It might take you 1−½ hour to circle the entire area of the park. Minus the random snake we saw I love it

Love to walk here. Beautiful walk near the water but windy. Safe place to walk for everyone.

I just went to this place for the first time a few months ago. It is a lot nicer and bigger than I expected. The view is pretty. I think I will bring my dog the next time.

Enjoy bringing my two dogs to this park. Dog friendly and Great views of the bay. They have bags all over the park for your dog’s duties. They also have water fountains for both the dogs and dog owners. I highly recommend this place for dog owners.

Went last weekend for an amazing hike. So beautiful, right by the water. Dog friendly. (We had a furry friend with us) Flat trails so very easy on my knees. So nice to have someplace like close by thats near the water!

Thank you Unilocal,I spent a wonderful afternoon walking the trails at Point Pinole and enjoyed every minute of it.
This is park is perfect for; dogs, kids, couples, singles even groups! Trails were easy on my bum knee, even the little ones I had in tow could navigate the terrain.
Parking was a breeze, decent bathrooms, stunning views. Maybe when the knee improves will return for a run!

Background: I grew up in the area, yet I didn’t know about this place until my early 20’s. I would run/​jog here a lot, as the trails are flat (and dirt trails are easier on the joints). I ran the Thanksgiving 10k turkey trot here, and in total I’ve probably visited this place 50+ times.
Views: Great views of San Pablo Bay. Always therapeutic seeing the water. There’s a dock you can go out on. When you’re not by the water, you’re in an area with woods, trees, or grass. With the recent drought, there aren’t many flowers.
Variety: Bike, fish, hike, playground, picnic. You name it, you got it. I see all different types of people here– school groups, older bird watchers, families. It’s good for everyone.
Trails: Mostly dirt or gravel, with the occasional pavement. They host a half marathon here, and there’s about 12 miles worth of trails. I usually do some variety of the outside loop, as I prefer being by the water over the bug infested trees.
Parking: lots of parking in the lot. I’ve only encountered a parking fee during event days (i.e. race day).
Crowds: Not many people know about this place, so it’s never too busy

Awesome place to have a jog or simply walk, will get creepy after sunset might even get lost. The view is nice and it has a nature experience in it as well. 2 thumbs up
