Love this place and wish they could get it right but they can’t. Have been going to the robin inn for years because it is near my church and has become somewhat of a tradition with my family. Several in my party got food poisoning this past visit and this is not the first time that has happened either. Hopefully this time I remember the bad and remember not to go back.

I got their house special spaghetti, and it was sub-par. Bakes spaghetti should have sauce coating all of the noodles, right? Not at Robin Inn. There was delicious sauce on top, but there was not nearly enough sauce to accompany the majority of the noodles. The meet-ball, sausage, pepperoni, veggies, and cheese were great and in the proper quantities, though. The side-salad, and house vinaigrette were decent, and the boston crème pie that I got for dessert was slightly stale, which I thought was strange. They could not deliver, despite the fact that they advertise that they do. The service was prompt, and the price was good, but I will not be returning. There are plenty of other Italian restaurants in the fan to choose from that have and will do a better job.

A cool little Italian restaurant located in the local neighborhood. Has a good neighborhood feel to it. Went there was some high school friends Bobby McEntee, Walter Stumpf and Mike Natale after our 40th reunion. Have the baked spaghetti and it was the best I’ve had in many many years. Not too cheesy and just the right amount of sauce and pasta. I follow the lead of my Italian friend Mike Natale. I would also recommend to take out special of baked spaghetti, salad and bread for 5 dollars. A great value.

You really want this place to serve awesome Italian food… It’s right around the corner, the price is right, the owner is full of spunk and personality. But. somehow even spaghetti can be screwed up. It’s watery, has no taste… :-(the place has potential to be an awesome spot and cater to a younger crowd with it’s cheap caraffes of wine. the food however needs to be adapted to please a larger crowd.

I have gone to this place to eat throughout the years, because it’s very close to my church, and so this past sunday 1÷19÷14 I went to eat what I thought would be a very light meal before I had to go back to choir rehearsal. I ordered 2 sides the spaghetti and the rice pilaf for what I thought would be a quick fix to eat. Was I wrong. it took them 30 minutes to make. The waitress said it was slow because they had a large party. I looked over as to who the grouo and it turns that it was delegate Manolo Loupassi’s bunch. Yes, and the Loupassis apparently own this joint. That’s a no no… how are you going to have a business if you only cater to your own and forget your other customers. Plus, the rice pilaf was totally tasteless. And while the food was delayed, the waitress came back and gave us the bill very promptly. Nope, Not going back.

I was having a craving for Italian food tonight. We live pretty close to Robin Inn, and we went there several months ago and I don’t remember it being terrible, so that kinda made the choice for us. Off we went! That was a mistake. The food is so… average. I don’t know if average is even the right word. Forgettable? Less than mediocre? I swear, I could go to Kroger, get some name brand spaghetti and pasta sauce for $ 2, and it would have tasted miles better than this was. What the eff. I didn’t really know you could mess up spaghetti with marinara, but congrats, Robin Inn, you’ve done it! I can deal with subpar food, whatever. When you’re hungry you’re hungry. The service, though, was like the nail in the coffin of terrible-ness. Our waitress had zero personality, and made no effort to hide the fact that she hated being there. She just kinda tossed menus at us, and tossed my plate at me. The best part, though, was how while we were eating, all of the employees were causing a huge ruckus complaining about customers who were calling. I’m not kidding, they were like yelling across the bar at each other, bitching about customers. For real?! Have these people never heard of professionalism, or customer service, or anything like that? I felt so uncomfortable. I don’t want to say maybe they were all having an off-night, because really, I don’t want to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were so unfriendly. The food was so whatever. The only reason I’m giving them two stars instead of one is the complimentary bread(I’m a total sucker for bread). Good luck, Robin Inn. That’s all I can say.

This place has been around for years for good reason. I discovered this restaurant in the 1990’s while waiting for the Robinson 3 bus in Richmond, VA. The aroma from this place was so good, I hung out and ate there with my friends the following weekend. I’ve eaten there frequently ever since. Even since moving away, I still go back to eat there every time I visit. Great pasta dishes, salads, lunch specials, wine oh superb!

My husband and I have been going to the Robin Inn for years. It’s inexpensive and always hits the spot when craving pasta. When we used to live right around the corner, it was our go-to spot for some baked spashetti, manicotti alfredo, or eggplant parm. Their fried calamari appetizer is the best we’ve found in Richmond.

I have put off writing this review. Only for one reason, in my opinion, I don’t have anything very positive to say. In my opinion the food was less than mediocre! Very slow service, not unpleasant, but slow and they weren’t busy. For a long standing business I really hate to write a review of this nature. With that said, I simply won’t go back. In my opinion, I think each restaurant needs to remember there are hundreds of places to choose from in RVa and if you get this kind of review you need to readdress the business! Well, that’s my opinion!

I’ve been going to the Robin Inn for over 20 years. It is very consistent good food. Not the top Italian in the city, but a great place to get an inexpensive meal. My favorite is the baked sliced veal with spaghetti and salad. The RI is a Fan staple.

I’d love to rate 0 stars if I could. I ordered spaghetti and my boyfriend ordered the beef kabob. The kabob was 4 little slices of very very dry beef and about 6 slices of tomatoes. I mean what’s the first thing you imagine when you say kabob?! The spaghetti was a pound of angel hair pasta stickier than a really sticky over cooked rice and about half a cup of ragu all that in a pizza box. It wasn’t very cheap either since it was dinner time. Worst place ever.

When I was poor, I used to go here once a week after a workout and get the baked spaghetti(vats of cheese) to go. It’s a dive, but the people are nice, the price is good, and the portions are huge. Mediocre taste.

A simple, cheap, Italian dinner, especially if you go for the daily special which is around $ 6 or $ 7. Owner/waiters are very friendly and there is plenty of seating for groups.

Quick, cheap, tasty«italian» inspired dishes. I’d go here for the wine and gossip, personally. The owner is great and is always full of life. They just started a happy hour that is monday-friday, dollar off wine and beer… and since the wine and beer is already dirt cheap… i think I found my new happy hour joint. Also, AWESOME, AWESOME lunch specials. WOOHOO!

I was looking for a new delivery joint on a lazy day and gave Robin Inn a try. I was rather disappointed with what I got. First off, my pasta came on a Styrofoam plate with saran wrap over it. Second, my «Italian Specialty» of of baked spaghetti came topped with cheddar cheese. I’m not kidding. Did they run out of mozzarella? Do they not know what an Italian meal is? I don’t know. As two stars indicates, pretty much everything was«meh.» The prices are very cheap, but nothing seemed like it was prepared with care. it seemed more slapped together. I’ll probably stick with other Italilan-ish spots that may cost more, but provide good food in the future.

Dear Robin Inn: I have tried to love you but your are far too inconsistent for my tastes. While Robin Inn MAY have been a desitination and«institution» back in the day, I can say that it no longer deserves either moniker. It is a place that shoves institutional grade Italian-centric dishes at you in huge portions hoping to make up for the lack of quality with quantity. I have always thought that you have to try pretty hard to mess up lasagna, baked spaghetti etc, but it seems like Robin Inn has figured out a way. Let me be clear on this. I am a huge fan of local, family owned restaurants that are a little rough around the edges. That said, I can’t recommend or get behind a place that just doesn’t seem to care. From service to inappropriate behavior to lackluster food, your money is better spent elsewhere.
