Karen was just perfect! I very rarely review, but I was treated exceptionally well and she deserves 5 stars!

Up until today, I’ve gone to a different salon for the past two years, but followed my stylist Jessie to Salon Bartholomew, which has only been open for a short time. As with most new businesses, there are kinks to work out. Last Saturday, I’d tried calling to make an appointment three times, but no one answered the phone, and the answering machine had a two-day old message on it. Minus two points. I tried calling again on Sunday. No answer again. I didn’t realize they were closed, but after shooting them an e-mail saying I was trying to make an appointment, the owner Tonya called me back immediately. On Sunday. When they were closed. Two points regained. Since Jessie had been my stylist, I knew what to expect in terms of services, and she gave me exactly what I asked for. In terms of the salon itself, it’s kind of hidden on the back side of the strip of shops, but I had no real trouble finding it. As for design aesthetics, it’s a minimalist chic with a muted color palette that I heard Tonya say is still in progress since she’s picky with decoration. I would be, too if it were my salon. Products-wise, they use Bumble & Bumble, which I’m familiar with and love, and L’Oreal Professionnel, which I’m not familiar with, but Jessie says she’s liking. Cost-wise, they’re right near that bubble of what I’ll pay for services, so I hope they don’t increase prices any time soon. I read the salon website and there’s a lovely, touching story behind the name and logo. Furthermore, it’s always nice seeing a sister living her dream as a small business owner(who, by observation, clearly knows her stuff with hair, too), so I’m a fan. I’m sure these four stars will turn into five soon.
