Finally, more ramen popping up in Richmond! This is a nicely designed restaurant, cool vibes. We had the fried oyster buns of steam, which made for an excellent appetizer. The oysters were cooked perfectly and who doesn’t love spicy mayo?! As for the ramen, it can’t be easy to do a vegetarian ramen(most broths taste like water) and Shoryuken Ramen has done it well. I had the shio(sea salt) veggie ramen and added an egg. The egg was cooked super perfectly and I enjoyed the pickled vegetables. Noodles had a nice bite. My friend liked his meat ramen. I’d definitely dine here again. Give it a try!

People rave about this place but I think it’s just okay. Great, but not AMAZING. It’s nice to have more ramen options in Richmond though. Pretty limited menu, but everything is tasty. Service was excellent and friendly as well. Prices very reasonable. Parking can be tricky in this part of Richmond, so keep that in mind.

Started with the pork dumplings as an appetizer and went with the spicy green curry as the main dish. Only medium hot but it was still hot. Both dishes were good. Happy hour got me a $ 2 Natie Bo. The service is good. The atmosphere is relaxing but consisted mostly of a younger college crowd. A very cheap price but a wonderful dinner.

This place produces some quality food. I love it’s location. In the middle of VCU campus, near downtown, and the perfect place to eat before or after the game. This place is more fusion than authentic and they are very innovative with their menu. Shoryuken Classic with chicken, spicy garlic miso, w/a spicy chili & butter kick. The bowl comes with a ajitama egg(soft boiled) which was tasty. The ingredients were good but I felt that the broth was average. Aside from the soup I got the fried chicken ‘Buns of Steam’ which were very, very good. Aside from the food Shoryuken has a full bar with lots of draught beer and their bartenders can mix up some quality cocktails. All in all I left satisfied and would recommend this place to anyone in RVA who wants a good Asian-Fusion experience.

Hadoken! Hadoken! Tatsumaki Senpukyaku! Shoryuken! Any child of the 90’s when went to an arcade surely knows what I’m yelling out. If you don’t know and you look at the names of their cocktails you’ll see drinks names Chun-li, Ryu, Balrog, and Zangief. If you’re still clueless just stay that way. Shoryuken Ramen is a great name! Beyond the great name is great food. We joined a fellow Unilocal Elite couple here for dinner. Going off their lead we tried two of their appetizers. The ajitama deviled eggs and the buns of steam with pork belly. Those buns of steam with pork belly combined with that butter pickle is delicious. I could eat three orders of that. The deviled eggs were legit but nothing near the treat the buns are. For drinks I had their house soda ginger beer(non-alcoholic) which suited me just fine. It paired perfectly with the heavy soup I was about to eat. For the main course I had the Shoryuken Classic with pork belly. A picture is worth 1000 words so just feast your eyes on my uploaded pics. The ramen bowl is very filling and the perfect dinner on a cold day. At the time of this writing its mid-November and the air is getting colder. I foresee many more visits to Shoryuken Ramen for a hot bowl of soup. The company was great, the parking even better, I almost don’t want you to go here and crowd up the place. VCU students are already hip to this place. It’s a nice gem on Main Street to be sure. See for yourself sometime!
