I’ve gotten two cakes from here in the past. I once got a Mixed Fruit and last week got a plain Vanilla with Fruit Topping. While both times the cakes were okay, they did not have what I wanted even though I ordered the cakes days in advance. I don’t understand why have something on the list that you never seem to have the ingredients for. It’s summer and they always seem to have enough strawberries for topping the cakes, but both times I’ve tried to get a Strawberry Mousse cake, they’ve told me that they do not have the ingredients to make one when I order. Next time I’m going to have to remember to check across the way at Sheng Khee before I make an order.

It’s my dad’s birthday today. He’s turning 59 years old. My sister and I bought a green tea cake here, after debating whether to come here or to Sheng Kee Bakery about 10 feet away. It was beautiful on the outside — a green powder covering, topped a delicate design of various chocolate items elaborately placed. The cake was $ 14.95 — the same price as the Sheng Kee Bakery cake — but we decided to stray from the same old fruit birthday cake. We even got 10% off the cake!(The sign above the display indicated this beforehand, but we didn’t look at it.) When we cut it after dinner that night, we realized the cake was spoiled. The green tea cream was SOUR. What kind of bakery would sell its customers a spoiled birthday cake? Even worse, they did not give us a receipt. No wonder it was 10% off. Sheng Kee, I am yours.
