This was one of the best meals I’ve had out in a long time. The misty knoll chicken was phenomenal, perfectly moist and a perfect crispy skin. The first bite I said out loud«oh yum!» And then shared the second bite with my date, that’s saying something. Delicious maple crème brûlée! Everything was perfect. We will be back, hopefully sooner than later.

I’ll keep this short. Great food, good portions and reasonably priced. Black bean ravioli for the win!

We had a really memorable meal, in every respect. The staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Made us feel welcome as soon as we sat down. The dinner was simply delectable. Each dish was carefully crafted, combining wonderful flavours together. Hats off to the chef… Thank you Sonoma Station!

I can’t believe we took this long to try this gem! The cozy atmosphere, coupled with the eclectic menu offerings made this a worthwhile venture. The black bean ravioli and tempura shrimp dish presented an incredible fusion of distinct flavors and the lemon pudding bread with blueberry ice-cream was the perfect dessert to complete the meal. Based on my last few dining experiences, I think it is safe to say that the suburban/country restaurant experience in Vermont now rivals the dining scene in downtown Burlington and in many ways, has surpassed it.

I would be comfortable recommending dinner here for anyone looking for a higher end dining experience with a very comfortable atmosphere! I was advised to make reservations and was glad we did, as we went on a Saturday evening and it was a packed house. So may be best to call ahead for«prime time» seating.

Excellent food! Coming from a big city, I miss the luxury of having a variety of restaurants, many of which are phenomenal. This place is now one of my faves. The only small complaint is that their service is slow and they seem to be under-staffed.

My husband and I visited Sonoma Station for VT restaurant week and had a wonderful dinner. We look forward to returning to try their regular menu which looks like it had very reasonable prices. The waitstaff was very friendly and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. We’re lucky to have this restaurant close to our home. We had the tuna and ravioli w/shrimp tempura, awesome!

This place was amazing. We went for dinner on a Wednesday night and while it was busy, the service was still great. The food was out of this world delicious! I’d go back to VT just to have dinner here!

Nice casual atmosphere countered by beautifully prepared, appropriately proportioned, and very tasty meals. One of the few $ 20 per plate meals where the quality and volume met the expectation for value. Had the seared Ahi tuna, roasted beet salad, PEI mussels, and more…

So I should preface my way-harsh one-star review with the following facts: –we loved this place when we first saw it –the food is very good –the atmosphere is cutsie –the prices are good So why one star? Because the service that was bad on our first visit was absolutely inexcusable on the second, and so embarrassing in fact, that we probably won’t return. I literally have never had anything like this happen to me before, and then it happened twice at the same place with the same woman. And that just feels weird like it was personal or something, and that is super creepy. First visit: we were the first to enter the restaurant except for one couple who was already there finishing their meal. After we were seated and given water, three more parties came in. ALL of these parties were then seated, given water, read the specials, received their drink orders, AND had their food orders taken. We tried to get the server’s attention throughout all of this, but she kept giving us the«one minute» finger and walking by. Then when she finally came over to the table, a small argument ensued about how it was not awesome that we had been passed over. And when I say«small argument,» I mean us shyly asking«um, so like, we were here first, but were wondering, I mean, if it’s okay to ask, why were fed last,» and then getting totally disrespected in a very aggressive way for daring to question her authority. But we left mostly with the memory of the good food and decided we wanted to go back– maybe she was just having a bad night/fight with her significant other/etc, and nothing like this had ever happened to us before Second visit: out with colleagues and my mother to celebrate our engagement, the waitress put us off and neglected to bring our drink orders or take our food orders while everyone else was waited on. Then when my mother received a plate that was much too small for an entrée and that she did not like, the waitress STARTED A FIGHTWITHHER about how she was wrong about it. My mom, being a boistrous Detroit woman took the bait and a semi-loud conversation ensued that embarrassed our table in front of the whole restaurant. The the waitress proceeded to act weirdly to us for the rest of the night and barely wait on us, like we were her boyfriend and were in trouble with her. If someone doesn’t LIKE something, you don’t start a fight about it with them about why they are wrong. Someone can’t be wrong about how they FEEL! The table next to us had actually just complained about the very same meal. And the only reason we even spoke up was because the night before at Simon Pearce in Queechee we had seen them treat someone else who didn’t like their food so graciously, so I encouraged my mom to speak up. You don’t act like a spoiled third grader and make five people uncomfortable for the rest of the night and then ask them to pay for the pleasure. Talking about it on the way home, we realized that both times we had the SAMEWOMAN!!! Totally unprofessional and immature behavior on the part of the whole staff(yes, I’m talking to you Miss Bartender who audibly bad-mouthed us with said waitress after the incident.) SO bummed out. No one else in the restaurant made any attempt to fix the problem or apologize or make anyone feel better about the situation– no chef, no manager, nothing. We were treated like we were cracked out panhandlers throwing chairs and all we wanted was to return a piece of «meh» food. We don’t know what it is about us that they don’t like — our glasses? The wine we choose? Our hairstyles? But we’re sad we probably won’t go back to enjoy the good food again.

I really love this place! Have been here several times with larger groups and each time everything that was ordered was excellent! They seem to have what so many other Chittenden Co. eateries lack and that’s consistency. The atmosphere is nothing overly exceptional but the service is great and I’ve always gotten a very fine meal… can’t wait to go back!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Richmond area. We don’t make it here often enough, but have never been disappointed here. We recently had the Potato-Chive & Parmesan Croquettes and House Made Duck Liver Pâté. The Croquettes were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft, moist and flavorful on the inside. The pâté was AMAZING… so creamy, just the right texture and consistency. For our entrees, we had the Black Bean Ravioli & Achiote Tempura Shrimp and the Scallops with mashed potatoes, wilted arugula & mushrooms. The raviolis were gigantic and delicious. My scallops were cooked perfectly, and the mix of flavors were complimentary across my plate. Not sure how we found room for dessert, but we did. :-) House made sorbet… cantaloupe, black currant and basil. All were delicious. The cantaloupe must have been perfectly ripe, because the sweetness was perfect. A great meal! Looking forward to going there again soon.

I’m amazed that I’m the first to rave about this place. This is my/our fav restaurant. I think they call in «new American» style — but whatever you want to call it, its amazing. I’ve moved from the Ahi Tuna, to the Misty Knoll Chicken, and am now stuck on the Black Bean Ravioli with Tempora Shrimp — its sooooo good. The flavors tend to be quite rich — the sauces really stand out. The staff is very good as well. They are pros that take pride in their jobs. Very friendly and attentive. Good people. Sitting right off the RR tracks, the occasional train is pretty cool. While the food is top level, the vibe is casual enough to feel ok in jeans. Not a big place, so make reservations. Creative cocktails are fine as well. After writing this, I’m now starved. I’m making reservations…
