Passed this place on our way to Katy a few times and thought we’d try it… good decision. Had an overstuffed shrimp po-boy and it was delicious, the other item we ordered wasn’t a winner… an overstuffed roast beef po-boy, don’t think it was actually overstuffed. But we will go back… anxious to try again !! Had great service too !

The food was good. I’m giving only three stars because the service was really bad. It took about 15 minutes to get a glass of wine each time I ordered one. The restaurant wasn’t busy and the servers/bartenders were standing around chatting. I was interested in dessert, but it was never offered and by the time the waitress came back, our party was almost ready to leave.

Went yesterday for dinner and was seated right away. Waitress was nice and attentive. Ordered the shrimp cocktail and wings for an appetizer. Both were pretty good and my GF commented on how the wings were small. For the main course we both had the steak and shrimp, house salad, asparagus and grilled veggies. The steak could really use some seasoning and like one review said it was fatty. Asparagus was ok, but not the best and could have had a little more. Prices a little to pricey for what you get. Overall it was ok, but not DAMN I need to come back!

2nd and last time trying this place. 1st time my husband and ordered shrimp po boys. It was a nice size and full of flavor. This time I ordered the same with the extra shrimp and it’s pathetic. I can literally count the number of shrimp and it lacks flavor. I will go back to seafood on the geaux, less expensive, full of flavor and all around better

First time going to Tad’s was Mother’s Day and it was not crowded. The food was delicious and the portions were not bad. They mostly specialize in Creole food and the gumbo was off the chain. Normally I don’t like restaurant gumbo but Tad’s has some great gumbo. I went again to the drive through just for the gumbo. Good experience and can’t wait to get back. The steak wasn’t the best quality of meat but the staff will tell you even though it is in the name, it is not their specialty.

This is my favorite Crawfish spot. I love the seasoning and size of the Mudbugs! Waitresses are friendly and attentive. I’ll eat the crawfish at least 3 times a week. I know but they are delicious. The fried catfish is nice also

This place is gross. My husband ordered a steak, a boudin ball, and a drink. The bar was right next to us and it took about 20 minutes to get his drink. I ordered a salad with ranch and a cup of étouffée. The salad tasted like it was from a bag with hidden valley ranch on top. Not good. The étouffée was bleh. Kind of spicy. My husband didn’t receive his boudin ball. We mentioned it to the waitress and she brought one out about 15 minutes later. It was SOGROSS people. It was super dry, looks like something a cat gagged up, and tasted like old mold. I can’t even believe the quality. I am surprised my husband didn’t get food poisoning. We were seriously disappointed with this establishment. They need to step up their game or they will for sure go out of business.

I’ve never been inside the restaurant for service, but I have used the drive thru over a dozen times. I’ve ever been disappointed with the food or the portion sizes. The convenience of being able to drive up without getting out of the car is great for days when I don’t want to cook, but I also don’t want a burger or pizza.

Food and service were really bad. We came in on Sunday(April 3) for dinner and were seated immediately. There were only two other diners. Like one Unilocal review stated, is this a bar or a restaurant? I’ll go one step up and ask is this a Cajun seafood restaurant or steakhouse? No on both choices. Our waitress(Kierre?) came to the table quickly. That was the only good thing she did. I ordered the surf and turf(ribeye and 4 fried shrimp) with au gratin potatoes and a salad. My wife ordered the stuffed fried shrimp with veggies and a salad. As we waited we had the beautiful sight of leftover boiled crawfish at the table next to us. The entire time we were there, the table was NEVER cleaned. It was really gross looking and made it worse when we saw a couple of flies buzzing around the old crawfish heads. Our waitress delivered our entrees. No salad? She said, «Oh, I’ll get them.» We started eating our food and a few minutes later our waitress came back. I asked, «Where are our salads?» We were almost thru with our meal when our salads finally came out. Ok, salad for dessert. There was no excuse. Our waitress was only working one additional table and spent more time talking to the other waitresses standing near the kitchen entrance. My steak was terrible. Very very fatty with a lot of gristle. It had absolutely no flavor. The steak had grill marks, but there wasn’t any taste to it. The fried shrimp were edible with a simple cornmeal/flour crust(no seasoning). The au gratin potatoes were nothing more than thick slices of potatoes covered in grated cheese. My wife’s stuffed fried shrimp? She thought she was given just plain fried shrimp and was going to ask the waitress(if she came back sooner). There was hardly any stuffing around the shrimp. In fact, I couldn’t even see the stuffing on the shrimp. It was a very thin coating of something. Her veggies were grossly over cooked and nothing but a soggy mess. How long had the veggies been sitting in a pot? Another couple came in and were immediately served bread. We never received that nor were we asked. My water glass was filled one time and that was done by the manager. I ate half my meal without water. We saw the manager walk thru the tables once and that was it. The rest of the time she sat at the bar socializing. My wife’s tea glass was never filled. We were never offered drink refills by our waitress even though our glasses were empty. Tad’s is a disaster. You could tell the staff haven’t been trained and the manager doesn’t seem to have a clue on what’s happening. That, or she doesn’t care. Either way, the situation will never change. The food is terrible whether they’re a seafood, steakhouse, bar, or restaurant. We always give establishments two tries. For the first time, we decided it’s not worth giving Tad’s a second chance. We will never return. Side note. I wish I read all the reviews on Unilocal. The bad reviews were right on because we experienced and witnessed the same thing. The good reviews? Hmmm?

This place can’t decide if it’s a restaurant or a bar. I, personally, feel that they should drop steak from the name because they don’t even come close to doing it right. We went on a Saturday around 2pm to avoid crowds and thought it’d be a great opportunity for this place to shine. The server was obviously inexperienced. I didn’t hold that against her because we all have to start somewhere. I did let her know that she made me uncomfortable when she invaded my personal space several times. If I can’t move because I’m afraid to bump you(and I’m seated), then you’re too close. Back up. We ordered the ribeye steaks because we thought, «Hey, steak is in the name, right?» WRONG. What bothered me first was the waitress stood over us after seeing the plays down and asked us top cut into our steaks. Ummm. I don’t want to. I haven’t finished my salad and don’t want to cut into my steal yet. There she stood. Waiting. Ugh. Obligingly, we cut in. What was ordered medium rare came out more medium well than anything. We noticed this right away and let her know it was wrong. She seemed to expect that answer and went back to the kitchen to report back to the cook. We don’t send food back. Period. So, we choked down as much as we could. The quality of the steak itself was questionable. It was grainy and sinuey. I’ve had better quality meat from Kroger than what this place is offering up. The quality certainly isn’t in line with the pricing. The entire time we were there we noticed a woman sitting at the end of the bar. It seemed as if the staff were frequently interacting with her. We figured out eventually that she was the manager. How odd. The manager was less than 20 feet away from us the entire time yet never greeted us nor asked us how everything was. I guess she didn’t care? Obviously, we will not be back. I give this place less than a year if they keep up this act. There are plenty of other places constantly opening up in this area that deserve my business.

I literally live a block away from this place and was super excited about a restaurant opening up in our neighborhood. We originally came for crawfish on a Sunday night around 7:30 and they were sold out. Gumbo– very watery; I had better not worth your money Poboys are awesome Etouffe– amazing Steak– so so Overall experience was good but I have yet to try their crawfish. Staff– some of the waitress need more training, some more friendly than others Cool place to hang out and chill to have a nice beer. NO raw oysters– I was so disappointed. Cajun place with no RAW Oysters?

Don’t order the 16 oz angus ribeye, you will get 4 oz of fat. I expect some fat but 4 oz is ridiculous lol. The quality was just okay at best.

So I’ve come to the conclusion after trying TAD’s twice now that it’s popular because there isn’t many options for seafood/steak in the area at this point. One of the issues is the restaurant looks like it should be larger inside. It works for the for the size but it has this bar like atmosphere which somewhat makes it difficult to understand if TAD’s wants to be a sports bar that serves seafood and steak or a true restaurant dining experience especially at the prices they currently ask for on many dishes. On my first visit I tried the crawfish and the seasoning used tasted more like the grocery store crawfish boil you would use at home. VERY spicy and clearly was boiled to order but no true flavor. I also ordered a stuffed shrimp appetizer. This was one of the more confusing stuffed shrimps I’ve had because it doesn’t look very stuffed. It was good but I literally asked was this the fried shrimp or fried stuffed shimp the moment I saw it. That’s how underwhelming it looked. 2nd visit I tried the Cajun Shrimp Pasta… Unbelievable portion size which I couldnt believe how much you get. Not really very cajun like and the creamy sauce used isn’t enough to cover the pasta once plated. The shrimp used are almost the frozen bite sized shrimp used on this dish so don’t expect the normal jumbo style shrimp for this dish you would find at other places. They top it off with a cajun dry seasoning which once you mix it in it basically loses its initial cajun like flavor. I will finish this long review off with the service. One of the biggest issues I’m trying to figure out with TAD’s in my 2 visits is trying to figure out if they actually have a front of the house manager on staff because my initial visit was a very slow day while my second visit was a Friday night which was packed. The issue is the hostess stand isn’t as organized as it should be for the size of this restaurant. You can tell many of the waitstaff are new to waiting on tables and that isn’t bad but the problem with service at TAD’s is there doesn’t seem to be enough control over making things run as smoothly. Maybe I’m wrong and although the restaurant is still in its initial opening phase somewhat but it’s hard to see if this is an ongoing matter or if its just they’re trying to figure out what their customer base should be at this time. They have other locations so I’m sure they know I can recommend TAD’s if you to stop by to sit down and relax on a weekday to experience it but I can’t recommend TAD’s as a go to seafood spot for the area. I feel like once or if ever more established seafood restaurants open up in the area then they could be in trouble in the long run.

We knew this place would be good from the moment we pulled in the parking lot. Due to the fact that there was not a single open spot. The manager Dori was cool as hell. The crawfish was bomb. Good spice. Shell’s were cooked perfectly. Easy separation. Craft beers were only $ 3.50! But what earned my Unilocal was the crawfish etouffe! Definitely gonna get the catfish smothered in etouffe next time.

Up in the air-they have been open 30 days and the place was packed. Kitchen could not keep up with the orders, working out the kinks. The food was C+ service B+ kitchen D. The Part that upset me was after 1:15 after ordering I said,” let me paid for what I had already received and just cxl the meal.” Oh it just coming up,(5mins later) I didn’t want it but was somewhat a forced to take and I didn’t even take a bite. My party of 4 all experience the same. No one wanted their food.$ 100 for food to go-NOT Happy! What will it taste like after sitting-leftovers. Will try it 1more time.

I wasn’t sure what to think of the place as it was being built, but from the moment I walked in, I knew I was going to enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and super attentive. They make you feel like you’ve known them for years. If you get the opportunity, ask for Maria. Arguably the best damn server I’ve ever had. The shrimp and grits are on point. When getting the Po Boy, make sure you asked for overstuffed, which is indeed a «sh*t ton» portion. I can’t wait to go back and tear up the crawfish! If I had to say anything constructive about them, I’d say maybe expand the desert menu. Everything else is awesome so that point is not worth downgrading my rating.

I had onion blossom for appetizer and my entrée was crawfish étouffée. Both were very delicious. By far the best étouffée I have had in Houston. The décor is nice and inviting. The staff was super friendly. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Cajun seafood.
