Uber

Tried to get an estimate. Entered a pickup address and nothing else. This shit app decided to send a car without me ever entering a go to address or giving me an estimate. Charged me for a cancellation on a trip I never confirmed. I’ll never use this app again because of whatever update allowed for screwing potential customers like this. Walking is worth surpassing the robbery, even in this weather. I’ll never forget this treachery über, and I’ll preach it to all my friends. Thanks a lot

Über is good for the rider. Horrible for the drivers. They pay nothing and they have the audacity to suggest on there website NOT TO TIP THE driver for a very cheap service. Cheap it is but everyone is trying to make a living and if you use Über to do that it will seem okay for the first few weeks. The maps will start not working and they will blame you or your provider then the money is down hill. Most people will not tip but its wrong! If you tip a taxi you should ABSOLUTELY tip an Über driving driving there own car with fares 2x cheaper than a taxi. Its a service. Always tip. Driving Über will amount to no more then a few hundred dollars that you car and you will pay for in time and gas and wear and tear. Not worth it.

Über is a terrible company.
Über obviously keeps records of all your trips. These records can be subpoenaed and used in situations like divorce procedures.
Über executives have stalked passengers who criticized the compnay, and those who didn’t, such as the time when they decided to track who was having one night stands. The intrusion on passenger’s private lves goes so far as to discredit female passengers who complain about drivers attacking them by saying they were drunk or dressed provocatively. Because of the records they keep, any complaint makes you identifiable and so vulnerable.
They also pay their drivers peanuts. Some of them have to work up to 15 hours a day to make ends meet.
Try not to use Über, but if you do, read that disclaimer thoroughly and do research. There are many sources online about the issues this near-​monopoly presents to drivers and passengers.

Awesome arrival time, nice driving experience, priced appropriately right, and just an overall good experience. There are coupons/​promotions to get your first ride free and to earn free rides by sharing your über experience with others. Definitely a service I will use again when needed. A very simple car service process makes hailing a taxi «old school» for sure… not that taxis are hailed often in the Midlo or Richmond area.
