I stopped by CD’s to pick up a dozen donuts for a morning meeting. For a dozen, it was less than $ 9. They had run out of a couple types of donuts but definitely had enough options to choose from. I love old fashion donuts and thought the one from here was ok. The other glazed and long johns were definitely better. Light and fluffy.

I had fond memories of Crest Donuts when I lived in town as a kid. My first memory of ever eating a donut was at this place, and I remembered their maple bars in particular were quite good. So when I was back in town visiting relatives, we decided to make a quick stop here for a small bite that was hard to pass off as breakfast. I don’t remember who was behind the counter in the past, but the kid who was working the counter has to be the most annoying salesperson I can remember in recent memory. It’s one thing to jokingly ask us if we want a dozen, but to do so repeatedly when I’m with my elderly grandmother when all we want are a few donuts in peace gets incredibly irritating after a short period of time. That docks a good number of points right off the bat, as does the relatively poor condition of the outdoor seating — the building is solely occupied by Crest, but the outdoor picnic tables were pretty filthy, and the trash was overflowing to the point that crows were actively paying a visit while we ate outside. As for the donuts themselves — not expecting world-beating quality at 75 – 85 cents a pop, but I came away a bit disappointed. The maple bars were already gone, so I went with a maple French crueller instead — good flavoring(and a much better glaze than the glazed donut), but it was a bit too moist. As for the glazed donut — one of the plainest glazed donuts I can remember eating. The donut itself was in the no-man’s land of not being dense enough yet not being too airy, and the glaze itself was barely there. It was like eating a plain donut, which is just not that inspiring to do. While it was a cheap pit stop, the poor service and conditions, as well as what turned out to be a bit lackluster quality, means that the first time I’ve been to Crest in well over 20 years is likely going to be the last time I show up again in the foreseeable future.

i have high standards for my food, including bakery. but that standard is very easy to achieve if you do one of the following. bake your own shit and sell them at reasonable time frame. i’ve been here twice, once in like a half year ago and once a few weeks ago. both experience has been that donuts were like you need water or milk to swallow that thing and extremely sweet like you are pouring sugar into your mouth. i know you don’t really have options for donuts in this town but i gotta give an honest review.

Definitely the best donuts in town! The place looks a little sketchy, but it’s worth taking the time to get some Crest Donuts :)

I can’t help but keep coming back here. It’s a nice place to study in the evenings, on the rare occasion I motivate myself to. Haven’t had a bad tasting donut yet, although the baklava was like baked leather once, but who cares, it’s not a baklava shop. Ham and cheese croissant really hits the spot on those redeye mornings. Nice staff, and I like seeing Asian faces for some reason, it comforts me.

I have been going here since I was little. They have the best donuts in town. The best donuts to get are the maple and chocolate bar. Tiny place but people eat outside or go somewhere else,

Excellent donuts. Not as good as Krispy Kreme which would get a 5, but still good. They only accept cash so be aware of this as the first time I went I had no cash on me and ordered a dozen and left empty handed(only to come back later for them). Prices are very reasonable.

I tried this place twice now, and their donuts are not the freshest in the world probably because they are open 24 hours. They also only accept cash, which sucks. I feel that the prices could be better too, at least offer a variety of prices instead of just 8 – 9 $ for 12 donuts. Maybe they should box up the stale ones and reduce the price on them.

This was the place to hang out all night when I was 14 – 15. Open 24 hours… the kids were bored. :D

Delicious donuts within walking distance of our hotel! Upon entry, one is overcome by an intoxicating aroma of fresh, sweet donuts. The union of sugar and dough is holy here. The selection is varied, but old standbys will not disappoint. Prices are low, and the donuts are most enjoyable. This place will be a definite stop for me should I have to pass through Ridgecrest again on business.

I used to work here. My friends and I used to come here when we were bored. At the time, Crest Donuts was the gathering place for people in high school. I also remember the delicious donuts Mr. Eap used to make, which contributed to my weight gain in high school. Best Donut Shop Ever.
