Love this place. Mostly because of the staff(they put up with my friends and I being obnoxious and boisterous!), they are wonderful people and the sushi chefs are a blast! I don’t eat sushi so I can’t rate on that, although my friends enjoy the all-you-eat at the sushi bar and I havent heard any complaints from them. I order from the menu because I’m cool like that, and their dishes are yummy :)

Service was good, but the sushi was darn near awful. Got a Rainbow roll and a Rattlesnake roll. The latter was ok — kinda spicy like I’d hoped, but mostly just crab meat. I couldn’t finish the Rainbow roll. The fish was mealy, the avocado overripe, and the roll overall was utterly flavorless.

Hands down the best sushi in Ridgecrest, but I’m giving this place 3 stars because the chefs are inconsistent. You could order something one night, and it be exactly what you want, come back the next night, and it’ll be completely different. I’ve been ordering my daughter the same meal for a year now(Chicken Yaki Udon), and today it came as a soup when normally it comes on a plate, and the waitress actually argued with me about it. We’ll go back, because we love the sushi, but quality control has definitely gone down in the last year.

Place is awful… ordered a simple dish, after 20 minutes the waitress asked how it was… said I didn’t get it yet… from that point on got all bad attitude… when I finally got the food, it was slightly under mediocre… awful place

I was a total a-hole about Ridgecrest when I stopped in. I kind of drove in thinking it was going to be some boring town with nothing but a taco-bell and maybe an AM-PM somewhere. My friend moved their about a decade ago and I’m barely fulfilling my half of the friendship by visiting her rather than her coming down to LA. You’re probably thinking, «wow dude, you suck as a friend», and I would have to agree with you in this sense, but I’m trying. But anyway, other than me being a bad friend, it was a nice couple of hours spent. Now, my first thought was, «a sushi restaurant in the middle of the desert… sure, ok». It didn’t help that when we drove up, it was the only running restaurant in the back of some broken down lot where every other business was closed down and collecting dust… i mean, we’ve all seen how most horror movies begin. Even in the middle of the day someone can greet you with an axe to the face. Somehow, i was still more curious than I was afraid. When we finally walked in, BOOM! It was good. First off, I was happy to go from a wonderful 90-something degree dry heat to a relaxing 76 degree anything. So that was nice. Despite its dry landscape and salty exterior, this place was clean and comfortable on the inside. Second, I’m surprised at the slow service you can get from an empty restaurant because the staff sometimes gets sluggish due to a lack of customers. Not these guys. there were about 4 other customers, but the staff made sure to tend to us right away, always as friendly as possible. So they win there. But, of course, the real question was regarding the quality of the food. My rule of thumb is ordering the rainbow roll since it involves a few different types of fresh fish. I also ordered a shrimp crunch roll(i think) and some egg rolls. I don’t remember what else my friends ordered. «How did it go?», you asked? It was great! The rainbow roll wasn’t freezing cold like gas station sushi. Nor did any of the rolls smell like unwashed clothes after a fishing trip. The cooked/baked rolls were also very balanced in taste and texture! I’m telling you, it was very nice. I would’ve probably ordered another roll if I hadn’t had so much iced-tea. But I was satisfied and glad the visit didn’t end up being the horror movie that I thought it would be. I should be visiting my friend again soon and definitely plan on eating there again.

It was okay… buffet pricing is about $ 25 a person and you can choose some of their soups and salads with it. Most of the sushi was served with a ton of sauce on it, which my husband and I weren’t huge fans about. We are going to try other places in the area.

Looking for dining variety in the desert town of Ridgecrest, I found an Oasis called Miso. Excellent Sushi prepared right in front of me by Master Sushi Chef, Santiago. Don’t let the name fool you. This man serves up first rate quality in a timely manner. I’ll be back!

I’ve only been here once. I thought this place was great!!! I came around 1800 for dinner and I sat at the sushi bar area, i ordered gyoza, 1 salmon, 1 tuna and baked salmon sushi. Omggggg… the closest taste I can get to Japan. I lived in Japan for 4 yrs so it made me soooo happy at this small town I can find a place I can go to and enjoy some good sushi!!! Made me feel like im back in Japan!!! The waiting time is not bad at all… i ordered everything it served to me within 5 mins. I love it!!! I think im going back again today!!! Oh!!! I recommend they’re rasperry tea! And bomb a $$ GYOZA!!! It does taste a lot like the ones I had in Japan!!!

The server is always the same guy and he is super nice and always checking on you. The chef is slower than I would like, but they do a great job and are always enjoyable. The environment is great!

My first sushi ever was had at this place! I have been coming to this place for years and have never been disappointed in the quality of their food or the cleanliness of their restaurant. Though their service isn’t always amazing, they are generally quick and efficient. Tons of options and decent prices — this is my favorite sushi place in town!

Our waiter couldn’t have been nicer — he literally made us feel like royalty. Very nice experience here! For sushi in the desert it was pretty good. Apparently they ship it in from LA daily — don’t quote me. Our rolls were yummy and they have some daily specials you can take advantage of. Worth checking out!

Misos is still holding in as the best Japanese or Asian restaurant in Ridgecrest and is priced right.

I came here with my mom to enjoy some sushi. For some reason we thought it was $ 20 or less for all-you-can-eat sushi during lunch, because there was billboard on Inyokern Blvd. Nope, our bill was $ 45 for two all-you-can-eat sushi lunches and tax. This was not including the tip. The service was alright. There was only one server, but he was trying to do almost everything. There also was on sushi chef, so the service was«moderate» speed. Over all, we only are 6 rolls each within the hour we were there. Each roll was delicious but took time get. I feel that this place needs to be updated outside and have faster service.

Seriously amazing sushi. You’d be surprised that a little desert town has such a good place! I’m always pleased with my meal and they have a variety of sushi with good prices. It’s still a bit expensive for Ridgecrest, but it is sushi. The sushi is creative and tasty! The bento boxes are amazing! My favorite roll is the tempura spicy tuna. If you are hungry, the all you can eat is an AMAZING deal! As long as you make sure you eat your money’s worth, you don’t have to feel guilty about what you order!

Miso Sushi is pretty good *most* of the time. Last visit was questionable. Sushi is like nuclear meltdowns. When it’s bad, it’s really bad. Ordered AYCE and couldn’t eat the Tex-Mex style they are currently serving. So I surmise that it depends on what type of food they want to serve at any given time. Consistency is lacking.

There aren’t very nice restaurants in Ridgecrest so this restaurant is pretty much as good as it will get. Good quality sushi and great décor. Ask for the cajun tuna. you will love it!

…so i was here yesterday for the AYCE sushi. My four stars is because this place is in ridgecrest… If it were la or riverside i don’t think it would do too well… Anyway i say 4 stars because they use a lot less rice than the AYCE sushi place at the red bowl asian bistro in town. There was one sushi chef whom was nice, but forgot some of my orders such as seaweed salad and veggie tempura, i had to ask twice. They didn’t have ono on the nigiri list which is one of my favorites, but everything else was pretty good. The salmon cuts were still frozen… not fresh, but fresh for ridgecrest:) Thr spider roll and seattles best roll was good, i was able to try new rolls without getting too full because of the amount of rice used! :) I’d probably be back if i was craving sushi in ridgecrest because the other two sushi options are either over priced or use way tooo much old rice!

Great sushi chefs who appreciate knowledgeable customers. Get a seat at the bar and share a beer with them — we did, and were happily accommodated. I highly recommend the Cajun Tuna(generous slices seared in chili oil over fresh salad greens) and the crunchy tofu salad(served with sliced tomato and avocado — exchange the former with mango for a sweet combination). The salmon sashimi is consistently good, and the tempura is fresh and light. There is a high rate of turnover amongst their servers, but it’s a small town and good staff are hard to find. Good sushi and good atmosphere!
