I took my dog and another here for a short trip because it’s still freakishly cold in April 2015 and I wasn’t wearing a warm enough coat. The park is very near downtown Ridgefield and easily accessible. The entrance seems to be under construction with loose asphalt and cones everywhere but there was plenty of parking right in front of the entrance. The park is divided into two sections for larger and smaller dogs. I took my goldendoodle and a labradoodle into the areas for larger dogs. There’s a reasonably good amount of open space there with leftover toys for throwing the ball or a rope toy. The park also had plenty of poop bags around so no need for those. The periphery is paved for humans to walk around as well. The entrance is through two latched gates and everything seemed thoroughly enclosed. I’d say it’s good for a bit of exercise but if you have a very active dog, prepare to throw the ball lots or find a bigger area for walking. We live in Fairfield so this small dog park doesn’t really compare to a place like Lake Mohegan with miles of trails for running and loads of dogs. BTW the people I met in the Ridgefield Bark Park were all very nice with well-behaved dogs.

Don’t have much experience with dog parks but seemed perfectly okay to me. Water available readily for dogs and nice grass covered areas. Easily walkable from town.

Decent dog park at that could be great with some upgrades and some TLC. Things it has going for it: — Separate large and small dog runs — Water in both dog runs — Poop bags provided in entrance areas — Both dog runs are a good size — Dedicated parking — Plenty of shade — Adequate seating — Adequate fencing, gates and entry areas Things it has going against it: — No bathrooms — Grass and dirt ground cover This run just needs some TLC and upgrading existing features and it is a solid 4 star dog run Dog runs/parks I have been to so far:
