This restaurant is probably my family’s favorite Italian restaurant! we’ve been coming here for years, since it opened in the 80’s. Every time we come to this area of Bergen County, we always make it a point to come here. We’ve always had an AMAZING meal here, never a bad one. Highly highly highly recommend.

I had my childs christening here, they did an amazing job, food was great, service was impeccable. I just wish they would give the place a little face lift. maybe modernize it a little? overall I come here for dinner & always happy.

Ten years ago When I lived in Pal Park and Fort Lee, My hubby and I were regulars here. We now visit once a year, but must say they are consistently GOOD! Now take the family and the CVS is still my favorite and the crab pasta dish is wonderful. Save room for the chocolate chocolate cake. Yum how I missed it. Love the local family feel. Don’t expect ambiance or great service just good Italian food.

Stopped by while in town. Service was slow and inattentive. Forgot to bring waters, never checked on the meals that were served, missing parts of the order. Alfredo was separated, not creamy, like it was microwaved. Poor service, terrible Alfredo sauce.

Without a doubt my favorite Italian restaurant in all of New Jersey. They can do no wrong. Every dish is special. Café Tivoli reminds me of a restaurant that shut down years ago in Jersey City named «Ilventos». For years I tried to find a place as good as Ilventos and I finally found it. Café Tivoli is the best !!!

A bit out dated for my taste. Not a place i would get out of my way to visit. The food is good (not great). Waiters can be good or bad depending on the mood they are in.
Single sentence description (for me): Italian cuisine downgraded and infused with an old American diner.
P.S: Not that i don’t like diners but some of them rock while others are just plain old boorriinnggg!

This restaurant is awesome. Food is delicious. So many favorites but eggplant parm is my favorite! We just held my daughter’s bridal shower there and everyone was delighted. The service was impeccable, the food delectable and we couldn’t have had a better party!

I am here for a party and the host days before informed the establishment that they need a gluten free dinner. They said no problem and delivered ½ a cup of pasta and 2 dry pieces of chicken breast. Seriously in today dietary world where you can get gluten free pasta at Wal-​Mart for not much more than regular whole wheat this type of dish show the lack of respect not only for the customer but for the food industry. Did the cook because who ever made what I ate was about as far from a chef as some tone deaf singer is from a opera star. Seriously Gluten Free does not mean without taste, IT MEANS no gluten. STAY AWAY!!!

Favorite restaurant of all time.
My family has been coming here for years, from birthdays, anniversaries, communions, graduations, you name it.
Café Tivoli is the epitome of great service. Their waiters are always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your dinner or event special and the food is great and always consistent.

Hi! We planned a party here for my daughter. It was a surprise 50th birthday party in the upstairs (big room). The party was December 20, 2013. About a year ago. I must say… It was great! Everything went perfect, and she was very surprised! The staff was great and everything flowed smoothly. The room is perfect for a nice get together with family. Most importantly, the food was great. We started off with the pizza, bread, and fried calamari. Then we had a buffet of mussels, chicken francese, penne vodka, and more. For years, my family has been having parties here at Café Tivoli, and we will continue to! Thanks again!

Not the place to go for holiday’s. 6 people at a table for 4, sloppy presentation of antipasto, mussels precooked and overcooked, constantly asking for bread, water… pour your own, wine pour your own, hot pepper, get up and get it yourself. Seafood Posillipo overcooked, bland, saltless
Nope will not go there again.

We recently had a party at a Café Tivoli in the first floor party room. Everything was perfect. The wait staff was great. Paul was particularly helpful. They even let me drop off the cake and balloons early! The food was excellent! The pizza served as an appetizer was particularly tasty. The tortellini in vodka sauce was awesome, as was the chicken parm. They even wrapped up the leftover food from our buffet for us to take home. That was a nice touch. We didn’t feel rushed after the party and they let us linger. The prices were also very reasonable. Oh, and the ice cream is delicious!

Best pizza ever! I usually get take out and they’ve never disappointed! Portions are big! Dinner includes salad, bread, and two sides! Awesome deal!
I’ve also done a private party there. Oscar is great, phenomenal customer service!

I was here for a private party. I didn’t hate the food but I didn’t love things either. I really liked the calamari and chicken parm though. Our servers were very prompt and courteous.
I’d like to give it another try on the restaurant side of things.

I’ve been coming here for years. Their fried calamari is the BEST I’ve ever had and you can order anything off the menu and it’s always fantastic. My favorites are the chicken marsala and the eggplant rollatini. Their bread is really good too — always fresh and warm. They’re also good for catering and for hosting parties. My family used their party room once for my grandparents’ golden anniversary.
Bottom line: Excellent food and excellent service.

I can’t go more than three stars based on one visit for lunch; but it made a good first impression. If it was closer to home, I might try it with my wife. Not a fancy dining room but white tablecloth, a good waiter. Background music was set too low to notice. Popular — the parking lot was half full.
Stopped by with a coworker. I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken — nice enough and only $ 8.95 at lunch. He had the ziti with sausage — looked good enough — also only $ 8.95.
Excellent bread.

We have been here a few times over the last 15 or 20 years and it seems to be worse every time. The service was confused. The food quality was poor and because they have a catering hall upstairs we were treated to the loud thump of the bass guitar resonating through the ceiling above which added to the bad experience we had at the restaurant.
I had chicken parmigiana and it was smothered in overly thick but strangely tasteless tomato sauce. Now tomato sauce can be delicate, This stuff was certain not that. It was one of the worst tasting and the least creative tomato sauces I have had in a while. Maybe it came out of a can. I selected spaghetti as my pasta side dish. It was served limp and cold and had the same poor excuse for tomato sauce on it.
Nobody in our party will be rushing back to the Tivoli any time soon. It was a waste of time and money.
