So disappointed. I drove an hour to get here and there is a sign on the door saying they closed for today and«see you Friday». Posted hours on their FB site are 10 – 6 Mon-Fri. Not right!

This store is GREAT and Marc is extremely knowledgeable. This is a runner’s store run by a runner. If you are looking for the latest Nike or ASICS then you might as well stay home. Marc brings a no frills approach to putting you in the shoe you SHOULD be in and not what corporate marketers want you in. Give them a shot and you won’t be disappointed!

The owner could not be more real. I have been to every store within 30 miles to buy running shoes but I would only go here now. Other places sell what they carry with no real effort to understand my specific needs. What is worse, is that now, so many shoes with famous brand names are all made with sub standard materials.(And in the same place, do some research). Years ago I could go six months to a year on a pair, recently my shoes were lasting three months! Mark is honest and goes out of his way to be the first to have researched high quality shoes that LAST! Even if that means he can’t sell me as often as the other stores. He also took the time to correct my form and work with me on Chi Running so now I can feel ache and pain free, completely! I’ve been running since high school but over the years I have had knee problems. Not anymore! Stick with Kilometers.

I’ve been going here for a decade and Marc is truly the best. He works with everyone individually to make sure they get the perfect shoe and doesn’t sell anything he didn’t believe in personally. For the people leaving comments about Nike shoes, Marc is doing you all a huge favor by not selling lower quality brands! I am definitely a life long customer!

Marc is AMAZING. So so enthusiastic and helpful, fitted me perfectly, had me trot back and forth in them and gave me all sorts of technique tips, don’t even hesitate to go to him. I drove over an hour and it was completely worth it

One word AMAZING!!! Just bought my 4th pair of running sneakers from kilometers. I’ve be coming here for 3 years. The service is next to none! They analyze your specific foot type and match you to a shoe for your foot structure. The guy who I’ve dealt with every time(sorry forgot his name!) has an outstanding memory! Every time I come he remembers my foot type and what shoe he put me in last time. He gives great running tips and is so nice! Genuinely cares about his customers! I’ve yet to have to bring them back but he always lets you know that if the shoes don’t feel right you can bring them back within a week. This guy knows running and knows the shoes… EXTREMELY knowledgeable in ALL things about running! I can not recommend this place enough!

I love this place! I am currently training for an ultramarathron and I was having pain… and like usual they were able to get me into a shoe to help. They have done this for me quite a few times and each time I am floored by how knowledgeable they are and how much they help.

I got my first pair of «real» running sneakers here! The guys working were super knowledgable and helpful. They had a special mat that measured my feet and watched me run in the parking lot to make sure I got the right shoes. I recommend this place to people all the time!

I wanted a new pair of running shoes and a Nike+ sensor, so after reading all the great reviews of this store, I figured I would«shop local» instead of going to Dick’s or Sports Authority. I really wanted to spend my money at an independent shop. I run about 30 miles a week so it would be great to have such a store near by. I came from Florida where I had an awesome local running store that carried ALL the major running brands and a variety of clothing and accessories. I am sorry to say, I was very disappointed! They had like 6(maybe) different shoes in the store and some clothes(hardly any!) that looked like they survived from the eighties. It was also quite dirty and just seemed to be in disarray. How can a dedicated«running» store sell such a limited brand of shoes? I’m no orthopedist but, to me, there are many different factors that go in to picking the right shoe such as height, weight, sex, body type, pronation, foot problems, health problems, etc., etc… AND1 or 2 brands, at most!, fit all — I think not! That would be the reason that there are so many different types or styles out there. Also, to me, the only reason to carry a severely limited selection would be that the owner is getting much more than the normal profit… in addition, the brand they carry is a higher price than other shoes out there too. I asked if they had the Nike running sensor(which has been out for years) and told they don’t carry Nike… really! I know Nike products aren’t for everyone, especially the shoes BUT to carry nothing Nike! Nike makes great, cute running outfits, socks, accessories, etc. and for a running store to carry nothing Nike!!! Really! Truthfully, it didn’t seem like they carried any running items(made in this century). So I left and drove to the«big box» store and bought shoes, a new sensor, socks and an outfit — none of which they had at Kilometers:(

I was referred to Kilometers by a friend who knew I was looking for the most knowledgeable footwear expert to help fit me for running shoes. The service was incredible, and in all of my years of running, I’ve never had shoes that fit me and my running style so perfectly. The owner took the time to have me run outside with my shoes, observing my running style, and then took me inside to have a digital image made of my soles. The result: The«perfect» fit shoe for an upcoming marathon, with expert friendly service. I will never shop for shoes anywhere else.

I was looking for the right footwear for my running and workout needs, and came with a specific brand and product in mind. Marc and team looked and listened and got me into the right shoes, and not what I was looking for… They were credible, very helpful, and truly interested in my needs. This is a gem of of a store, and I hope others discover it, too.

These folks will take care of you. Every staff member is a runner and will welcome getting newbies started as well as speeding up the experienced runners. They are knowledgeable in different types of running and want to help each person meet his or her goals. I actually had a stress fracture in my foot without knowing it — these guys called it out and instructed that I stop running immediately and see a doctor.

In sleepy Ridgefield, CT there exists the best running shoes/accessories store I have been to on the entire planet. Been to very good specialty running stores in San Fran, NYC, Seattle and Chicago, but nothing compares. The proprietor, Marc Chapman is as knowledgeable about all levels of running(from beginner to competitive athlete), and is very generous about sharing the knowledge with all who enter the world of Kilometers. He will watch you run for a bit, evaluate your mechanics and suggest just the right shoe for you, and work with you over the months and years to continue to guide your shoe selection and educate you on the sport. If there were more retailers with the passion that Chapman has for his trade, the likes of Niketown and Champs never would have existed, because they simply would not be able to compete.
