The food here is solid 3-star and the ambience is 4-star. Exactly a 3 ½ star restaurant. I would definitely return and can recommend it. The ambience tries to capture the feel of a brasserie on the Champs-Elysee and is acceptably charming with a French feel. The wine list is good, and the food is variable. We had one dish that was excellent, one that was very good, and a couple that were average. Crepes are excellent, fish is very good, the sauces not up to standard for French expectation. Nowhere near what you might find at a typical brasserie on the Champs-Elysee, but compared to the usual pseudo-French in the US, it’s very good fare. The owner does come out and will speak a bit of French with you, and the waiter was good but didn’t speak a word of French.

Service service!!! Feel I’m at a chinses restaurant where waiter and waitress are more interested in taking to each other rather than serving the customers.

DONOT be fooled! I read the reviews before taking my friends here on their anniversary dinner. So, I was expecting slow service but decided to give it a chance. We waited and hour and a half to get our food. I felt like we were completely ignored and there were maybe three other parties there(not packed at all). They started to count out the register and we still hadn’t been served!!! We finally got our food after I started to stare at the wait staff with a hungry look on my face! I ordered steak frites medium temp and got a terribly well done steak with burned fries. As he served us he said«sorry there was a problem in the kitchen»… Really!!? Diner service and atmosphere for high end price. NOTWORTH the money ATALL!

Lowering rating after yesterday’s breakfast. Ordered the omelette with ham and cheese. In the past we had real breakfast ham cubed into small pieces but this time received a bunch of deli ham instead that was meant for a sandwich and not for an omelette. The bread, previously thick sliced and fresh was likely day-old and hard. I’ll consider doing back in a few months. Lost my appetite for now.

Went for the second time today. The service is not only slow, but also poor. Food is fair.

Amazing food, horrendous service. My boyfriend and I came here for Sunday brunch and each had and omelet, the farmers omelet and the salmon omelet, and they were the one of the best omelettes we have had. We also ordered a chocolate croissant and an apricot crêpe– both were delicious. The croissant was flaky and the crêpe was light, just like good Persian pastries should be. We would definitely return for the food. Ambience was beautiful as well. The service, however, was awful. We were seated promptly and there was 3 other tables, one was paying their bill and another was eating. A couple walked in right behind us and waited ten minutes or so to be seated. They walked out as we watched in amazement, why was there no staff to seat them? There was one server taking orders, serving food, bussing tables, and making drinks. Food seemed to be cooking in slow motion in the back as well. I wouldn’t blame the server for the snail paced service. Maybe they were under staffed, or maybe they just can’t handle 4 tables for brunch, but it seems to be consistent in the reviews. The owner stood behind the bar, I assume he is the chef, watching tv and talking to a customer at the bar. At this point I was pretty pissed because our food had taken over an hour and we still had not eaten. I told the owner we needed or food or we were going to leave and he went to the kitchen and shortly returned with our food. I love supporting local restaurants, especially as tasty as this one, but they need to hire more help. It’s ridiculous to be this understaffed. I will definitely be back for brunch and dinner once I see the service has improved.

The most savory crepes, and delicious Mussels this side of Paris… Frank is such a warm and friendly proprietor. We always feel welcome and know we will always have the finest food around

Awful. Here is a photo of a stale or rotting crème brûlée. It was cheesecake texture. My friend and I were shocked. I will never return. And I had some sort of allergic reaction shortly after eating it. I then got a cold for the first time in 20 years. But seriously, how could anyone serve this? It was exactly like stale cold cheesecake attempting to be passed off as crème brûlée. The only good thing about this place was the amazingly kind waitress. I live in Ridgefield and cannot recommend this place to anyone, after the bad experience I had. The main meal was not good either.

Had the pleasure to have dinner here last night and it was amazing! The chicken truffle pâté was devine. I also had the mussels guingette, with a broth rich and savory … absolute perfection! Staff was warm and inviting, I can’t wait to go back.

Last night was our third time at Sucre Sal and like our previous times, we were not disappointed. Service is a little slow, but the waitstaff are so friendly that you can’t get mad for waiting. Started with mussels in the spicy broth and they were very good, refreshing with lemon zesty spicy flavor. I had the Normandy quiche and it was delicious, my husband had duck confit which was cooked to perfection with creamy mushrooms, haricot verts and au gratin potatoes. It was well worth the $ 27. Drinks and wine were good too. This is such a nice addition to the Ridgefield restaurant scene, hope it stays around for a long time.

I visited Sucre Sale for brunch on Sunday 9÷27÷15. I’m not sure what was happening behind the scenes, but it took three hours from arrival to departure to enjoy an omelet and black coffee. The food was slow to arrive, but good. BUT the service was beyond bad with no explanation or apology from start to finish. Imagine — 20 minutes for someone to greet you, 30 minutes for your beverage, 45 minutes for your meal, and no check ever arriving. Coffee refill? Too much to ask. I’ve never encountered such ineptitude and disinterest. I heard this place was great. Growing pains. Wow! We inquired about what the problem was and got no answer from the waitstaff.

Really cute little bistro in the center of Ridgefield! I stopped here for a quick lunch and this fits the bill perfectly: sandwiches, salads, quiches and crepes. Simple, quick and delicious! I had the quiche Provençal with olives, tomatoes, and some other goodies and it was delish! Perfect portion for a light lunch, and a lovely patio for the warmer months. I’ll definitely be back, hopefully for brunch!

A true French bistro… and quite honestly, better than most bistros in France. Simply prepared classics. Great and easy wines. No attitude. Such a joy. Owner & staff are welcoming and friendly. It’s quickly becoming a true neighborhood/town institution! Looooove this place

Exceptional, high quality crepes, quiche and sandwiches. What makes it even better are the large portions and reasonable prices. Most dishes come with a small salad and potatoes or fries. Wine by the glass is s great value with good French pours for $ 7 – 8. Service was exceptional. A great experience overall.

Cute little place-still has a few kinks to work out but honestly has some great potential. The former«Bayou» local goes from southern cuisine to French, and unlike the French, they are not at all fast at service but tasty with their dishes! The staff is nice but a little slow even when it doesn’t appear busy, but they do try once they come to you. Their entrees are pretty good. My better half ordered the chicken Dijon with string beans and outrageous pomme frites and I ordered the mussels with lots of stuff in it-they were very tasty but many were mushy-either undercooked or overcooked, i don’t know as that is one dish I personally never make but always order out. The broth was fabulous for dunking! Bread is good especially with butter. Cocktails we ordered, traditional Martinis, are not their forte so perhaps will consider a wine next time. A little mishap with our appetizer entrée and that may have been my fault. I ordered it with my snazzy French accent and the waiter misunderstood it for another appetizer, and delivered that one instead. The downfall was that my soul mate has an anaphylaxis reaction to the salty crustacean platter presented to us… I tried it, and it was good and fresh but just just a bit salty-waiter was mortified, I was more so given the interpretation of «mon Français». Our grand finale, the apple crêpe was exquisite! Light, flavorful and satisfying! We will go back especially to try the all-u-can eat mussels on Wednesdays! Place is really quaint and to me far better than the neighboring Luc’s! Now it’s up to everyone to give this place a chance!!!

After several more visits, I can report that Sucre Sale is starting to get their ship in order. Most recently we got great service from a very personable wait staffer. The food was good — not stellar, but better than just acceptable. They must either learn how to make a cappuccino here, or simply not offer it. A cappuccino is not a cup of coffee with a thin layer of marginally frothy milk thinning out on top. Will continue to go, and hoping to upgrade this to four stars soon.

Was recommended to have brunch here by a Client. The restaurant is charmingly done in a french theme-I was tempted to order en français. ;) We had smoked salmon omelettes(french style so a little runny). It came with delish sourdough and cubed seasoned potatoes. Portions were plenty. Their teas were distinct and a brand I haven’t tried before. Charming place-would def recommend! :)

I am absolutely INLOVE with this place, and I can be a tough critic. I’ve been about five or six times. Every single visit has been exceptional! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food is ALWAYS delicious and the drinks are great! It may be a tad pricey but it is more than worth it for what you get! Easily the best crepes I’ve ever had and the omelettes and quiches are so good! It’s exactly what we need in Ridgefield a quaint gorgeous French restaurant that does breakfast and is cheaper and(in my own opinion) better than Lucs!
