My room was awesome… Beautiful set up and clean… However… When you upgrade a customer to a premium floor without telling them and they ask about the access code for snacks don’t tell them now lucky they are that you’re not charging them $ 20 for $.50 bag of chips.

I dig this place. It’s perfectly located for when we come to MS to visit my father. The rooms are big, clean and the beds are comfy. I do wish they had a bathtub instead of the shower that fits a small family, but that’s just a preference thing. On our last stay there, the Florida A&M football team and their cheerleaders were in residence. It made this sleepy little hotel come alive a little, I’ll tell you. It also made it impossible to get a table for breakfast, but we just grabbed our food and parked ourselves in the lobby.

I just held an event at this property over the weekend, and the planning started off very rocky with the hotel staff; however, the execution was good. This property has a new general manager(GM) who, I believe, will turn it around for the better. At the time that this review was published, the GM hasn’t been at the property for a month yet. The rooms and lobby area are beautiful. The staff members were friendly upon our arrival, but terrible over the phone. Again, this property is under new management, so I strongly believe things will turn around for the better over the next 3 – 6 months.

This hotel is my favorite Embassy Suites stay ever! The building and rooms seem brand new with a very open set up much more suitable to the pleasant, sunny climate of the South than the normal design. They have done away with the incredibly noisy atrium concept and you met with a nice, airy, open 2 story lobby with full size lounge, restaurant and very comfortable seating groupings centered with a large water feature. There are windows throughout so you have views and there is no cave feeling like the normal atrium. The pool, Jacuzzi and gym and open with windows and nice. The suite room design is more open and flowing with wood floors and big windows. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room super clean. Everything was new and nice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Registration was a tad slow, but that may have been a matter of timing and the attention was very personal and focused. They have a small store with food for the microwave, snacks and drinks. The Manager’s Reception was very nice with plenty of snacks and wine and beer free. The bartender was very friendly and the event heavily patronized with guests staying in the seating area chatting and talking to each other long after the alcohol stopped. It appeared many people chose to stay at the hotel rather than going out since the environment was so nice. The staff were also very helpful with dining and local recommendations. The location was very good as well as you can walk to a few places and there is a large plaza mall with many dining establishments very near by. Plenty of parking in the lot as well. Every Embassy Suites should model this one — a wonderful stay that I highly recommend you try if you are in the Jackson area!

I’ve stayed in several Embassy Suites Hotels before. This one is new and still looks nice and fresh. Well furnished and decorated public areas. Rooms are good, though mattresses were not very comfortable. Seemed to be cheap and they got what they paid for. The free breakfast was not that great — certainly not as nice as offered in other ES hotels. Given that it is the South, I shouldn’t have been surprised that in the mornings, the entire hotel smells like bacon! Seriously, we were on the 5th floor and as soon as you open your room door, you are overpowered by the smell. The restaurant obviously has inadequate venting. Hot tub and pool were NOT well maintained. Tub was barely tepid in temperature and pool was very cold. Seems that this new place could use some improvement on management.

I really enjoyed my stay here. A large group of us stayed at the hotel for a wedding we were in town for. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff was friendly, and they had a free happy hour from 530 to 730 every night which was fantastic. Even better was the free breakfast. They have a full spread of hot breakfast items. Made to order omelets, biscuits and gravy, bacon, fruit, the whole 9! I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here every week between August 2011 until December 2011 getting myself so called Gold status. If I dont get the right person then I get the worst room in the hotel. Typically this is right beside large airconditioning units. The staff try to make it work, there is a nice younger guy in his 20’s who tries hard, along with CT their night person, they are both great. But otherwise this place is simply a bucket shop with little interest in long term customers. They instead concentrate on selling 2 – 3 day trade events etc leaving travelling people out in the cold. Time to move on to the Garden Inn in Madison and give that a try.
