Millers Uptown

The Hostess and Wait Staff are excellent. The Management, specifically JAMES, very poor. For the second time in 4 – 5 weeks I ordered the Prime Rib. BIG MISTAKE! Half of the Prime Rib was Fat and Gristle. The meat was grayish and curled up. The cut was a skimpy 1 whole inch at best.
The Manager never came out to address our concerns. James the Mgr. relayed messages via our server. (Nice and Courteous woman)
A second plate was brought out after 20 minutes and was NO DIFFERENT from the first one. This is the second time in a row we have had an issue with MILLERS UPTOWN.
There are plenty of choices in the area to get GOOD Prime Rib such as Logan’s RoadHouse, Longhorn Steakhouse and O’ Charley’s just to name a few.
I intend to contact the owner MIKE MILLER to voice my displeasure, frustration and disgust in regards to my last to visits to his establishment. I have had good experiences in the past, however, my recent experiences have been handled unprofessionally, dis courteously and indifferently by the MANAGEMENT.
Choices! Choices! Choices!

This was the worst service that we have ever received. I was extremely disappointed. We arrived at 6:15 and it took until 7:30 to get food and only then after going to ask about it. Obviously not the only one with problems as the 2 tables beside us were making same complaint. Understandable to have prime rib sold out but not for baked potatoes and okra Again very disappointed

I tried Miller’s for the first time for Sunday brunch. They make an excellent bloody Mary, and I don’t even typically life them.
I ordered the shrimp and grits, and they were much better than some I’ve had at other restaurants that cost much more.
Miller’s has been a staple of Jackson in Brandon for many years, and I expect this to be one of the first restaurants to succeed in this location.
I’ve heard excellent things about the pizzas and the other food, and I will be back to try some other menu items.

We came on the recommendation of my sister-​in-​law who said the location on 471 was really good. In a nutshell, the service here is terrible. We didn’t get menus when we were sat at a table and our drink order was wrong when it came out. After ordering we waited about 45 minutes before asking our waiter, who said it would be another 10 minutes before we would be getting our food. Mind you, we had ordered two shrimp poboys, a philly, and a fried chicken sandwich. After this it took him another 5 minutes to bring us our first drink refills of the evening.
I’d normally be willing to give the benefit of the doubt to waiters because it’s always possible that something happened in the kitchen or whatnot but the waiter didn’t stop for at least 45 minutes to check on us.
After an hour and a half of waiting for 4 sandwiches we finally decided to leave.
Needless to say, I don’t think we’ll be returning to Millers Uptown.

We are regulars at millers 471 and love it. Thought we would try uptown since it’s closer to our house.
Will not be coming back. Service was awful. We sat at our table for literally almost 30 minutes waiting on an appetizer.
Thought about just getting up and leaving since it seemed our server forgot about us anyway but we had to be somewhere at later and didn’t have time to go anywhere else.

Great food! Great selection! Friendly staff! Unless you just absolutely have to eat a salad, go with a few options from the pizza or burger menus. You won’t be disappointed.

Came in today with a friend of mine at 3:30 today to have THE WORST experience ever. No one seemed interested in taking our order so we just got up and left after about 20 minutes of waiting.

Good Food (some items are great!) Good Service. Great patio.
I’ve repeatedly had Christina’s Bay Boy sandwich which is fried shrimp with a spicy sauce similar to another restaurant’s Bang Bang Shrimp, but a better flavor. The sandwich is great. It is difficult to get the bun together to eat it (which is a GOOD thing!) I always end up with some shrimp on the plate to eat with a fork. The fries on the side could use a bit of seasoning in my opinion, but they were well cooked and plentiful.
My wife has twice ordered the Pesto Burger which is delicious and a nice twist I’ve not run across at even the «fancy burger places» in town. It has a nice portion of feta cheese which goes very well with the pesto. This is an outstanding burger that is pretty large. She ordered the sweet potato fries on the side and enjoyed them.
The atmosphere is upscale casual. The patio area is huge. It has ceiling fans, televisions, and heaters for the few cold months we have. We sat out here, listened to the rain, and enjoyed our meal.
The waitstaff is friendly and do a good job of taking care of you. Frequent refills of my iced tea and the right amount of checking to see if everything was OK.

I had lunch last Friday at Miller’s and could hardly walk out, the food was excellent, the portions beyond generous, and the service was excellent, a win, win, win! I liked it so much I went back Tuesday evening for a burger, another excellent experience, and the again on Thursday for pizza. I truly am not sure which visit was better! Give them a try, you will not be sorry.

I have been hesitant about trying Millers, I won’t lie. «Another burger/​general food place, yayyyyyy,» I always thought as I passed it. Well, tonight, after seeing a tip from a fellow (and trustworthy) Unilocaler about how good their burgers were, I figured why not. OH MY GOSH. Their burger was so perfect. 100%. I got the Cougar Comeback burger. The bun was fresh, the comeback sauce was present but not overwhelming, and the burger itself was perfectly cooked. I got the baked potato salad as my side and I thought it was weird that it came on a piece of lettuce, but that’s a personal preference. After stuffing my face with all the deliciousness, I forced myself to get banana pudding. Again, 100%. The atmosphere was fantastic, service was outstanding, and the burger was one to remember.

Good service. Staff was friendly. The pizzas are awesome. Get the Anna’s meat market. The crawfish dip was yummy.

I didn’t have any of the trouble mentioned in the other reviews. Service was friendly and the food came fast and tasted great. Go check them out!

Very disappointing experience. The waitress was friendly and pleasant but the service extremely slow (we waited 30 minutes for our order to arrive and most at our table ordered from the daily special menu). The daily special was average and over priced at $ 11.95. Fish tacos were good, the blackened mahi-​mahi arrived grilled (not blackened) and raw in places. The waitstaff appeared to be working hard so my guess is that the problem is in the kitchen. They have only been open a short time so there is a chance for improvement. We will wait a while and give them another try.
