I recommend this optometrist office with a caveat: they seem to be perpetually short staffed, so if your appointment happens to fall on a particularly busy day you can expect to wait for a decent period before your actual consultation with Dr. Dampier. Personally, I took this delay on backed up days as a sign that the doctor was not allowing a backlog of patients to force him to rush through the personal consultations. For my examination with him, we spent a good 30 minutes discussing my various eye ‘issues’(I have never had an eye exam until now in my early 20’s), with the Doctor taking his time explaining possible correlation between my symptoms with things detected during my exam as well as referring me to other specialists with which his office have relationships, getting me an appointment far in advance of what I had received when calling them directly. Bottom line: while your mileage may vary in regards to the expediency with which your appointment is completed, but you are very likely to feel that your expectations were exceeded. Definitely recommend. P. S. I second the other reviewer in regards to their parking lot, but I would add that the slope of the entrance to their private lot is quite steep. If your car is low slung or with a damaged suspension, I would not even attempt to enter(the pavement is gouged with the results of others attempts) and simply street park at the entrance(very wide street). The walk from the street to the front door is perhaps 100 feet, nothing at all.

I like the environment, but parking is horrible there. The doctor seemed to be in a hurry, and I was already seen several minutes after my scheduled time. I guess he was running behind, but he seemed so rushed he didn’t want to explain anything to me. Like why I all of a sudden am diagnosed with astigmatism and what to do about it. Then when I went to get my glasses and contacts, the girl helping me made me wait 30 minutes while she did goodness knows what. She didn’t have any idea about what different types of contacts or glasses would help me. she forgot to tell be about an extra $ 400 charge for anti-reflective anti-scratch until I picked up my glasses 2 weeks later. The staff helping me get my glasses were incompetent, and I don’t say that lightly. I would’ve been better shopping online for my glasses. The staff doing check-in were super pleasant however, but it wasn’t enough to justify making this my eye doctor. I’ve heard better things about Jackson Eye Associates, so I would try out them or a different place before I’d go here.
