I would recommend staying as far away from this salon as possible. It was recommend to me, I had a consultation to go silver. The first phase was sloppy, he lifted the color twice then put a color called titanium on top that he had never used before, he left chunks of blonde all over my head. I couldn’t wear it up, I looked like I had a reciting hair line(not to mention my hair was blue and green) I also asked for layers and for him to frame my face, he said he didn’t have time but would do it my next appointment that he set for 3 weeks later. He said don’t worry tho I’ll even it out. He even said that he hated to charge me(but did for 180 anyway) I was a good sport about, stuck it out, hid the blonde as best I could and wore hats. Went back 3 weeks later, he started the first process and it turned an orange coral color. Which he tried to blame me for. He said he had know clue why it turned that color, and he had never seen it happen. He said he’d put the brown back in it and give my money back… But he messed up my hair again, I didn’t ask for streaks and he messed them up(there’s blonde dots and streaks everywhere) and there’s brown all over my scalp and skin. He also got bleach on my new shoes and said it wouldn’t mess them up(it did). He also swore this did no damage to my hair at all(it did, MAJOR) When I talked to the salon manager she said that he told her I was dishonest about what had been done to it before hand. Which I told him in the very first consultation 2 years ago I put a brown I got from Sally’s in it to cover up some highlights that I didn’t care for. That is the only thing that’s been done to my hair. So he screwed my hair up twice, rips my hair out(the tangles he just ripped apart), messes my new shoes up… Then he lied, blamed me, and wouldn’t put the money in my hand or look at me when I left. And the manager didn’t seem to care at all. Now I have to pay someone else to fix my hair, put it back to a somewhat natural color and it was damaged for no reason! My hair is broken and fried and I am seriously traumatized from this whole ordeal!

They have moved to a new location, over by the Trace Grill. It is much more spacious and easier to get to then when they were on Harbour Dr. I have been going to Griff for 8 years, I think, and I haven’t had a bad haircut yet. They can be quite busy though, so be sure to make you appointment in advance. I generally have to wait two weeks to get something on the books(which is something for a guy who is in and out in 20~30 minutes).

Friendly service, trendy stylists, and cool, artsy atmosphere are all reasons you should check out the Ritz. They give a darn good haircut too.
