My aunt finally passed (RIP ½/​2016 and now i can make an honest review, i have been to your store and been in the neighborhood many many years, you guys are rude and over priced, i dont care who was smoking in front of your window, with your door closed you claim they were bothering you? anyway dont worry we got the watches we were looking at and at a fairer price than you guys, from now on we are just going to shop at Gemmelli’s, i dont like the way you guys talk about your customers behind their back, and i never forgot about the original ring you made for this lady and she wanted you todestroy the mold so another wouldnt be made… i remember you guys melting some questionable jewelry and from a local idiot, and casting the ring for him… (Mexican sun God remember?)

This place is quite overpriced. Staff can be a bit rude as well. The owner comes off a little pretentious. Customer service was almost non existent. I had to argue for them to stand by thier own product and work, and demand satisfaction. Custom work costs over $ 100 an hour. And if you dont like how they finish it, your essentially stuck with it. I would avoid this place in the future, and advise you to do the same.

My family and I have been long time customers of AJ’s. They have been our «go to» jeweler for over 20 years. Jordan and his staff always handpick the best quality items for each of our family members. They accommodate for so many different price points. We have purchased simple gifts for friends and some really stellar items for family members on special occasions. I recently had a notable experience with them. I needed to have my engagement ring reset. (My now husband was not YET a customer of theirs and purchased my engagement ring elsewhere.) Big mistake! Jordan was able to completely replicate my ring setting as I didn’t want to change the look. I was unhappy with the integrity of my previous setting because my stones were incessantly falling out. Jordan made some alterations because the original setting did not allow the main diamond to show its true beauty. He truly perfected the new setting by using the new latest and greatest techniques for customizing jewelry. Jordan always keeps abreast of new ways to keep your jewelry lasting for a lifetime. Another great thing Jordan did was he sent us a computerized digital design of the ring before we made the decision to have it remade. We had a visual of the ring and new we were making the right decision to have AJ’s customize it for us. Needless to say, my husbands new «go to» Jeweler is Aj’s Jewelry Store.

They are expensive with their jewelry. I was looking for a bangle bracelet for my wife and it was extremely over priced. If you go to the city, that same bracelet is half the price AJs asks for.
I highly recommend going to the city (Manhattan) for jewelry.
5 years ago gold wasn’t too expensive at AJs but today it’s over priced. There sales are sakes anymore. And there excuse is the price for gold went up. Which it’s true but not too high. I found numerous other jewelry places in the neighborhood that aren’t too pricey. But I started shopping in the city. Downtown and midtown areas.
However the workers are very nice and welcoming. So I give them thumbs up for this.

Went here for a watch battery replacement. Extremely friendly and super quick turnaround time.

I honestly love this place. When I come in here I’m treated like family. My family and I has been coming in here for years with our searches for earrings, watches, baby bracelets, and especially custom requests for out of this world jewelry. They truly go above and beyond for you.
Let’s take my father for example, he is by far, the most particular customer I’ve ever seen when it comes to anything. So it has to be a custom piece, because no one can have what he has. If the gold is not heavy enough, he’d change it. If the yellow Sapphire is not dark and manly enough for him, he’ll make you change it to a golden Yellow Beryl stone. He is so meticulous, that if the staff here haven’t jumped off a cliff now to kill themselves, they can please almost any client, even the most challenging, like my father*.
If it comes time where I really want to spoil someone, I would come here and pick something out for them, or if I know they completely deserve something, an I just can’t figure it out, I’ll get them a gift certificate here. I know that if I’m not with them, they will always be taken care of.
It doesn’t hurt to try the place at least once. Especially since they have the current Unilocal deal right now going on. Start thinking ahead for Christmas, and get your stuff now while you are already tempted reading my review. At least you’d be able to cross of minimum one person off your shopping list.

My boyfriend decided to pop the question last month (and no I had no idea… thought he bought me a heater cause it was very cold that day), surprising me with a super cute unique white gold flower engagement that just screamed «Cindy»! The ring was awesome, from the detailed petals to the beautiful rubies in the middle. He said he had tried a bunch of other places but all their rings were too traditional or old fashioned. He wanted something a bit more special and one of a kind. AJ’s truly delivered. Of course as he tried to slide it over my finger it was obvious I had either
A: Ate too many Oreos the night before
B: the sizing was off
so we made our way down to AJs after the spur of the moment proposal to get the thing to fit. The place was pretty busy but the man (I think the owner?) knew my fiancé’s face and asked us about the ring. I told them the size was off and they quickly offered to adjust it. It took about 20 minutes and boom… done!
I am definitely happy he picked this place. The design on the ring was super unique and I know there is no where else he could have gotten such a cool looking piece of jewelry. Thank you Aj’s!

I am still in love with my ring and was so happy when they fixed it and cleaned it (it was filthy… I need to take of my stuff more!) but was a bit upset when it was time for my wedding ring. I bought it at Na Hoku and came there so they could resize the ring. The owner seemed very against the idea unless I signed something because something could go wrong because of the placement of the stones of the ring. Overall I didn’t like the whole tone of the whole conversation. I felt like he just didn’t want to do it in the first place. In the end I went somewhere else and they said there was no issue in resizing the ring whatsoever. They had it ready for me in 2 days! Nothing against Ajs but I just wanted to share my experience about that.

Went to AJ’s looking for children’s earrings. Nice selection and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly, courteous and not pushy. Happy with my purchase.

My husband and I found my wedding band here. We had been to 7 stores looking for this specific band and AJs happened to have it. Trandy helped size the ring, informed us that the ring comes with a free engraving, and informed us of the insurance we could purchase. A few weeks later, once I was actually wearing the wedding band, I noticed that one of the diamonds looked strange. I brought it in and they fixed it (no charge). Excellent place, no nonsense, good vibes. I strongly recommend.

Aj’s has been around forever! They have updated their store over the years so the place doesn’t give off the, «I’ve been here for years» look.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and the jewelry is not cheap. I have a ring, necklace and earrings from Aj’s, and they have lasted many years without need of repair.
I have also taken my husband’s watch here for repair. They were helpful and didn’t charge me a lot of money for a simple fix.
Bottom line: If you are on Myrtle Ave looking for jewelry, don’t stop by the cheap Asian joints, stop by Aj’s.

I’ve been coming to AJ’s since I was a kid (my grandma took me here to pierce my ears) and they are the absolute best jewelers in Queens. They’ve been in business for decades so their knowledge is vast. They have an excellent selection and can custom make almost anything you want. They are the only spot I trust for authentic jewels and gold, and also with all of my repairs. The staff is excellent w repairs. The store is bright and the staff is patient. I can sometimes spend an hour in here browsing and asking prices and the staff is always helpful and courteous, even when I have my kids in tow. They are actually very sweet w my kids and they pierced both of my daughters’ ears. So, if you want quality pieces at reasonable prices, this is the place to go. And like their facebook page or join their mailing list for coupons. That 50% off coupon that comes during holiday season is always put to good use in my home.

I have known AJ’s Jewelry for over 11 years and have purchased various articles of jeweler from them. They are honest, offer a fair price and are straight forward to deal with… without any nonsense that other Jewelry stores often play with you. If you need custom made jewelry they are fantastic!
