Absolutely delicious, fresh Chinese food. Not typical Americanized Chinese takeout — this is authentic and as good as the Chinese food and dim sum you would get in Chinatown. Any of their rice noodle dishes are the freshest, and their mini egg custards are warm and flaky. So great to have a real Chinese restaurant in Ridgewood vs. having to go to Chinatown NYC.

Service is awful. Simply terrible. Got a table for two. Sat down for about ten minutes. At this point we didnt even get a menu or water/tea. I had to ask for a menu because I got tired of waiting. Manager Eric, does not know how to treat customers. I’ll provide an example. We ordered soup dumplings, expecting the dumplings to have«soup» in it. There might be soup inside it when it first comes out but when you try to pick it up, the bottom gets stuck onto the paper leaf and then the dumpling rips. Every single time. so the soup spills onto the tray. When we brought it up to the manager Eric, he looked at us with disbelief, sort of doubting us and tries to pick up a soup dumpling himself. Not surprisingly it rips up open at the bottom and the soup spills. Instead of apologizing or offering to provide new dumplings, he simply says«fine» and crosses the order off the receipt and tells us we do not have to pay. What an asshole. Terrible experience. If I can go back in time, I would have gone to McDonalds for some Mcnuggets and some hash browns.

I honestly don’t understand how the food here is so mediocre. Aside from a few highlights(the soup, xiao long bao, and duck), the remainder of a meal that I had here with family friends was greasy, poorly cooked and generally underwhelming.

I’ve been here a couple times and man do they have the WORST service ever. They gave me the wrong order, about four different people ask you if your ready to order(even before you’ve physically opened the menu), and if they don’t understand what you’re saying they simply walk away in the middle of your sentence and get someone else who speaks better english. The older people are the rudest, but young ones are relatively nice. Maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff here, but I got the shark fin dumplings and didn’t like them at all. And I got the shrimp with lobster sauce, which literally looked like shrimp in mucous. I was skeeved out by the texture of it. Again, maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff, but theres no excuse for the service, which was down right terrible. Sorry if I’m ripping them a new one, but they deserve it after that.

Exactly what the doctor ordered if you’re looking for a solid dim sum place. Even with the crazy bustle of Christmas, literally seconds after we sat down, the dim sum cart was by our table and we had food in our mouths. Wish there was a little more variety in the things they passed around but nothing to complain about with the shumai and fried rolls. The Peking duck– amazing.

Dim sum is amazing no need for the city, green tea was the way its supposed to be, and everything was pleasant including service, not sure where people say food is cold, DEF didnt have that problem, food was hot and FRESH!

WORST. SERVICE. EVER. We walked in at 11:30am on a Sunday. The place was packed with people waiting at the front but I looked around and saw about 6 empty tables that had yet to be cleared. Already didn’t make sense. I was given #7 and the wait began. About 15 mins later, we were seated. Tea came out cold. And I mean COLD. Like, «why did you give me someone else’s tea» cold. Then, we realized. trolleys weren’t making circulations. There were literally two carts going around with the same darn things — one cart was full of pastries/desserts, the other had the most popular dishes: siu mai and har gao. We kept asking when other dumplings were going to come out(and waving down a waiter is NOJOKE here — holy cow), to which every one of them answered, «soon soon.» NOPE. Nothing more ever came out. We left to go somewhere else for brunch. My dad was able to pull a dish of chicken feet off the very last cart he saw coming around that he hadn’t already seen 10 times — it was apparently completely inedible. He spat it out and literally was dry heaving. Gross. Every single dish was cold. There were not enough waiters and probably even less people working the kitchen. Pathetic. We also ordered wonton noodle soup — the waitress wrote it down on our check chart but didn’t put the order through so it never came out. I even reminded her once and it still didn’t come out. The check somehow came out to $ 70. Thieves. You guys SUCK. And shark fin on the menu? Shame on you — you people disgust me.

Dim sum in ridge wood, why not… Had pork buns which were sweet and fluffy. The soup dumplings had a great taste but stuck to the paper so trying to pick them up was a bit of a problem and lost most of the soup, did have great flavor thou. For the entrees we ordered the beef lo mein… Ehh kinda unforgettable, not much flavor or beef for that matter. The crispy duck was great, nice crispy skin and portion was generous for the half duck The best part was the lobster special. We opted for spicy garlic and came nicely cut with vegs mixed into the mix. Could have been more spicy but was cooked perfect and had a nice taste. Service was okay, we felt rushed to order and the menu is so expansive that a little alone time would have been nice. I would come back for dim sum weekends and try it out.

Dim sum was just ok, a bit cold. The place was dirty, we sat on those banquet chairs with the covers, but the covers were dirty. Service was just ok.

When you think authentic, rural, and sophisticated dim sum cuisine, this place should not come to mind. If you’re however looking for a waitress to display classic hard sale approach to serving, look no further. ’ You want dumpling? Double the order? What about soup? Another app? Some tea? A pizza??’ They got you. The food tastes like a seasoned chef was rolling some shumai when he got inspired to do some cleaning. Yes, that’s windex you’re tasting. Nutritious. Overall, stick to the classics. When thinking of coming here for a night, pick up a basic Chinese menu and get delivery home. To end on a positive note: The orange that comes with the check was good.

Food:4, service:3 I rounded up because we got a preset meal for a lunch banquet type of affair and I was pleased overall. The dishes were good and not overly greasy. Flavors were well balanced too. I enjoyed the lobster stir fry, pork crispy noodles, and the beef broad rice noodles. My favorite was the pepper steak. The sauce was perfect. the meat, tender, alongside vegetables that were crunchy and glazed with a nice sauce. The dim sum was mediocre but I really don’t expect much from a NJ joint. I docked them for the service because they spilled water on my cousins 2 Month old baby and dropped a fork on my dress clothes when cleaning up. A bit snappy too but again, it’s Chinese food so I wasn’t expecting much. Worth trying if you want better Chinese food and you’re in the area.

I grew in in Queens, NY and have been to many Dim Sum restaurants. I taking about the type of places where no one speaks English and you have to guess at the food or it’s difficult to order a Coke. Love those places! I live in Bergen county now so I was very interested to try Dim Sum Dynasty in Ridgewood, NJ for Sunday brinch. I must say it was very good. It wasn’t the best place I’ve even had Dim Sum, but I would go back and recommend this place. Good, fresh, tasty food that comes around in carts. If you’ve never been to a Dim Sum restaurant, there are no menus. The waiters come around with a cart of little«Tapas» or hors d’œuvre sized food, usually 3 or 4 per plate. And you pay for what you eat at the end of the meal. The waiter will mark down on a piece of paper on your table of what you took.(It’s written in Chinese) And the waiters were very helpful when asked what eat dish was. You can also order food as you would in a regular Chinese restaurant if you like, they have a menu for that stuff. My wife and I were stuffed and paid abut $ 50 at the end of the meal. We will be going back. Go hungry and sample everything, even if you think you may not like it. Those are usually the things I like the best!

I had a craving for Dim Sum and didn’t want to drive into NYC. I have to say Dim Sum Dynasty hit the spot. The food was great and they have vegetarian dishes for me . Will be back real soon.

On street parking is hard to find sometimes. But you can park in the lot they have next to Ben & Jerry’s. The décor is nice inside. They make a great westlake soup. The crepes was amazing. The sautéed shrimp in wine sauce can never go wrong. Their seafood pan fried noodle was very delicious. Try the beef fillet w scallion and onions. Steamed flounder is delicious. Seafood casserole was yummy as well.

I’ve been here a few times on wknds for dim sum. Parking is a pain, but that’s a given considering the location. The restaurant has 2 diff levels, which is fine but very awkward for the dim sum carts. Watching the wait staff pulling and lifting the cart up and down the steps is jus scary… I really like their shark fin, pork and veggie dumplings. other than that, nothing too special and they do serve all the popular dishes, like spare ribs, chicken feet, shrimp wraps etc. I am giving them a 2 bc, the service today was completely off… i asked for diet coke but i got regular, the waitress kept telling me it is diet and i know it was not. I asked for a glass of water without ice, but i got a cup of ice. Then when we asked for hot sauce, mustard and soy sauce… the waitress kept repeating what we wanted missing one thing, so after we repeated ourselves at least 5 times, she still missed the spy sauce… felt like we were in the twilight zoon, they brought exactly the opposite of what we asked for. With that said, i would still go back… and hopefully have a better experience so i can update this review(i don’t like giving negative reviews)

I have try Dim Sum Dynasty a couple of times and my opinion still stand its really just ok and good for nj quality dim sum. The usual har gow and tripe dishes are very bland and I’m not going to blame them as just like all the other dim sum restaurant in nj it’s really hard to make it as close to chinatown dim sum resturant as many dishes doesn’t sell and it just not worth it for them to offer any other traditional dishes. If my parent don’t feel like driving to city for dim sum this and qin dynasty will be our stop as the price is reasonable.

This restaurant is one that I frequent for our weekend dim sum destination. The only reason really being that the next decent spot without venturing off to the city is about a half an hour away. This restaurant is fifteen minutes away for us. The décor and atmosphere of the restaurant is what one would expect in Ridgewood. The steep price is what one would expect as well. And the sad part is you are not paying for quality when it comes to the food, nor the quantity. It’s regular dim sum portions, but the quality is seriously lacking. I’ve had better dim sum from a frozen bag. Service and cleanliness is definitely what brings three stars to this restaurant, but quality of food definitely brings my review down a notch. If you’re looking for a quick dim sum fix and don’t want to drive into the city or to far lengths then this place would suffice. Otherwise, please consider other opportunities.

I was a bit disappointed, but given this is Ridgewood, NJ and there aren’t any other dimsum place around, I gave a 3 star. I came around noon in a Saturday, the place wasn’t that crowded(I was expecting some wait time if it was that good — busy). The dumplings were alright, but I wished there were more varieties. The food cart(or «tray») came around pretty slowly. And they charged $ 1 for the hot tea!!! That was quite ridiculous. I’m sticking to Chinatown favorites going forward

Looking to fulfill a dim sum craving on a Sunday, we ventured outside of our normal Silver Pond in Fort Lee and tried this place. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back here again. Got here around 2 pm on a Sunday afternoon. Place wasn’t packed, immediately we ordered soup dumplings, which I’ve heard were decent and what mainly drew us to this place. They were very disappointing, fell apart as we picked them up from the steamed pot. The dim sum itself was oily, soggy and not very appetizing. Again, I was expecting more from a dim sum place on a Sunday, which is prime dim-sum time.
