This is a really impressive small grocery. Produce, cheese, bulk nuts, various canned, jarred, and dry goods. A bit of everything; you can buy anything you’d need for a meal here. Similar in size to Parrot, but a broader variety of products.

It is great to have a green market with fresh produce in the neighborhood.

This place is a treasure — really fresh, excellent prices, and wonderful variety. The staff is really low-​key — they stay out of your way, but are always friendly. I go out of my way to shop here for veggies and fruits. For basic groceries I go to Trader Joe’s on Metropolitan and for produce, I head straight to Fancy Fruits. Every week, after loading up my basket with what feels like a ton of fresh fruits, veggies and herbs, I am always pleasantly surprised when the bill ends up being less than $ 20!

Their selection is highly seasonal, but both fresh and inexpensive. They also stock random specialty items like baby eggplants and cranberry beans.
They always seem to have shallots on hand, which is a huge bonus, even when the fresh herbs are out of season. The grocery selection includes some starches, nuts, and varieties of baklava.
If I stick with what is in season, I can eat fresh veggies for a week for under ten dollars.

Fancy Fruits makes me almost happy to live in Ridgewood. They have a nice selection of fruits and vegetables – a good variety and generally very fresh. There are also some basic grocery items – milk, bread, honey, nuts, etc. – and a selection of imported snacks, including some Turkish cookies and teas. Prices here are very, very reasonable.
But minus one star for the employee who followed me around while I was shopping, saying «Ay mami!» Awkward.

An impressive array of fresh fruits and vegetables awaits you here! While I buy most of my groceries at Food Bazaar, I wait to buy my produce here. Super cheap, super reliable… Fancy Fruits is a gem. Besides the produce, there are some delicious portuguese rolls in the back, as well canned goods and a small selection of other packaged goods. I’ve gotten fennel, spinach, avocados, almonds, tomatos, oranges, eggplant, cilantro, and a whole lot more… always cheap, always fresh… I’ve always been satisfied!
FYI — There’s a 10 dollar minimum on credit cards.
