This place is great for you smokers out there who are sick and tired of the high cost if cigarettes. Bought a 2 oz bag of very smooth tobacco, filters, and papers all for $ 10. It’s roughly 4 packs of cigarettes. I mean com on. That’s a no brainer.

This is a great store with a very knowledgeable owner– Constantine. I traveled from Westchester just to browse. They carry a great line of Italian cleaners and everything Constantine recommended I loved. Wish the store was closer I would visit every week just to gain valuable insight from Constantine. This is not a store that you walk into and stand around fumbling in while you are ignored by the staff– The customer service is exceptional. The products are exceptional as well. If you love to clean and want outstanding products this is the place to visit. If you are looking for kitchen tools that will last a lifetime this store has those as well. No one could believe I traveled 45 minutes to buy a broom, but I did and would go back tomorrow if I needed another one. I love my horsehair broom that only American Housewares sells along with the Sgrassatore cleaners, Maas metal cleaner, No Streek glass cleaner, and the cleaning cloths I purchased here. Thank you Constantine I will be back.

The is a great store that really is needed in Ridgewood. The Owners, Constantine and Ruby are great, knowledgeable people and offer great products which are hard to find, yet necessary if you are looking for good quality house care products. They sell my favorite multi purpose cleaner– Sgrassatorre an Italian made degreaser that cleans everything better than any other product out there. They also sell a great selection of housewares such as mops, brooms, cleaning cloths, hardware, coffee pots (and make their own espresso!), tobacco products to make your own smokes and even paint!
They sell Pyrex cookware and a line of Italian personal care products as well. A full line of Gorilla Glue products also.
Try the Sgrassatorre cleaner and I guarantee, you will back for more. This place has the charm of the old housewares store of days gone by where the owner can tell you how to use the products as well and stands out like a sore thumb amongst the hordes of .99 cent junk stores that take up way too much space in Ridgewood these days. Visit American Housewares for some really great quality products, good conversation and a cup of freshly brewed Espresso.
