The owner is greedy and rude and the store is a pigsty! The main reason I am giving one star though is because the potting soil I recently bought here was infested with bugs and ruined all my plants! Never again!

Best hardware store in Ridgewood. It’s got a wide array of stuff tons of different screws nuts bolts. The guy who runs it is awesome.

The people who work here are nice, and the guy will try his best to assist you. The selection is decent, and organized. Friendlier than American Hardware which is a few blocks down. However, it’s merchandise is way overpriced.

First time in was to hide from a possibly deranged man trying to tell me why every shop owner on Fresh Pond was a scumbag. The next time I went it, I actually got a chance to look around and got some great holiday lights, which the owner actually took time to plug in and check that each light worked and even replaced one that wasn’t. Also, when we tried to get keys copied, he wasn’t able to because they are specialty keys but he recommended a place nearby that could do it.

I’ve been here a few times and haven’t had any issue, other than the owner having trouble with the credit card machine. All the usual hardware supplies you need, pretty well organized. Certainly lacks the charm of Platz, but it does the job on Sundays or a bit later in the evening when Platz isn’t open.

i’ve lived near this store for 10 years, and go there only when absolutely necessary — it’s open later than other local spots. i have NEVER had a positive experience there. every time i go, i regret it. today, i went, asked for 3 copies of one key, and one copy of another (between 2 other key copying customers) and got three of each, only after i paid. there was no discussion, only argument. DON’T GO HERE UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST. i prefer ‘mom & pop shops’ to the big box stores, but i will not give this jerk one more of my hard-​earned dollars for any of his over-​priced garbage. i’d sooner go further and find a home depot.
