Absolutely has to be one of the worst bars ever. Don’t know where to begin about this place… mostly everyone was horribly rude here. The owner is a drunk degenerate. The bartenders are clueless. Everyone smoking in the middle of this place is the icing on the cake. Serious fire hazard. Should be shut down.

This is the baddest bar ever. They are loud they don’t know how to shut up at know. This scares my kids so close it or keep it quiet.

Great bar, great bartender! I love that place except for the people smoking. I don’t get it really. This place could be packed on a Saturday night I’m sure so apply NYC law and make it a smoke free joint!

Dominos and beer. Great outdoor patio. This place is very local. Quiet but rowdy in a good sense.

I was stuck between giving this place a 3 or a 4. Paradise definitely has a lot of potential but due to poor/no advertisement, practically no parking on the streets and the fact that it’s located on one of the least busiest streets in Ridgewood, this bar is the deadest bar I have ever walked into. I can’t stop coming back though lol. They have a wide variety of liquors, a few beers on tap, some of them you won’t find in most bars. Their wines aren’t all that, had a glass here once, tasted like Welch’s. The bartenders are so sweet and willing to make any cocktail you ask them for. A few are Romanian and I think one is French. I usually come here with a few people, and between the huge backyard, jukebox and service, we find ourselves having a good time locally, which by the way, Ridgewood is not all too notorious for that. If you’re looking for an easy going spot to sip on a cocktail or two after work, and be able to have a smoke too, this is the place for you. Not a party spot at all.

Eh… maybe I went on an off night. Went here recently when the Gottscheer went on vacation. Should’ve waited until the Gottscheer was open again. It’s nice inside with vintage décor, but that’s about it.

I fucking hate this place. I’ve been living literally across the street from this bar for over 2 years. I live so close that I can throw a rock from my window and probably hit their front door. The people who frequent this place are a special kind of retarded. Almost every night, there’s at least one moron who forgets something inside the bar, then thinks it’s a fantastic idea to come back at 4:30am and kick the metal gate over and over… and over, and over… until my furious once-peacefully-asleep boyfriend yells out the window that he will disembowel them if they don’t stop. Sometimes they stop, but when they don’t, I call the cops. I’ll let them do the disemboweling, as the local cops hate this place probably as much as I do. ;) People fight outside of this shithole all the time, the music blaring from there on the weekends is way too loud, and the drinks(usually made by completely inexperienced 17 year old illegal immigrant girls from Eastern Europe) are not enough to keep a person coming back, unless they have a serious problem with alcohol and have been kicked out of every other area bar. The one time I brought my coworkers there, they told me they were scared of the place. I imagine it was due to its NOTIRONIC these-people-are-all-actual-alcoholics dive bar aesthetic. The«garden» in the backyard has cement walls, no greenery, and shitty broken plastic chairs and tables. Everyone is smoking cigarettes and it’s tough to breathe. If this place burns down, I won’t be crying.

This is an update of my previous review. Normally I would just use Unilocal’s update feature, but, frankly, I had this place all wrong, so I’m completely re-writing it. I’ve been back twice since my initial visit and have found both the patrons and the staff to be friendly and fun, even if I can’t understand what they’re saying half the time. Late night here is the best when the juke box is fired up and people are dancing. It’s one of those internet juke boxes, so you never know what songs you’ll end up hearing, which makes it even more fun, I think. They also sell this Polish beer I like, called Tyskie. It’s cheap and comes in a half liter bottle, so double win! Check it out.

This is a pleasant pub. Lots of warm oak on the bar and the ceiling mouldings. 6 beers on tap(from Radeberger to Brooklyn Lager). A younger crowd(and bartenders) than most Ridgewood bars. A jukebox, sometimes DJs. The best part is the sizable backyard.
