I would give no stars if possible. I usually go to NYC for drs but ended up trying this group out. 1^st, I’m a health care attorney, so I was appalled when I was shown into the exam room and an oversize computer screen was displaying all kinds of patient health information!!! Can you say HIPAA violation of the worst kind? That should have been the first clue that something was terribly terribly wrong here. 2^nd, I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with my joints after a 2 min exam (Really? I had terrible pain and had waited for over a year to see a dr about it and I frankly wait until the bitter end to ever go to the doctor). They took an x-​ray and again said there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. Then the dr immediately recommended that I go have a very expensive MRI at a place they have a relationship with (they send all their patients there they told me). Hmmm seems odd. Well the good thing is they ended up never giving me the referral for the MRI and after 6 weeks of waiting (I tried to call but noone responded to my voicemails until almost 2 months later) I ended up going to see another doctor, who showed me right on the x-​ray where I had arthritis!!! It couldnt have been clearer on the x-​ray. Wow can you say blatant misdiagnosis? Last to add insult to injury they sent another patient’s bill to me with all of his personally identifiable health information on it — his name, address, and medical diagnosis codes… I have written them several times and I received only an extremely rude unprofessional phone call from an administrator telling me that their office can send that sort of information to whoever they like under the law. Wow very scary. Don’t go here — not only will they misdiagnose you, they’ll send you for completely unnecssary expensive tests AND not safeguard any of your health information and worse — be arrogant and rude about it. I can’t even imagine how they treat your credit card information… Thankful for Active Orthopedics Group in Hackensack. They have knowledgeable/​professional doctors, and professional/​courteous office staff.

I was impressed with my experience here. Jen Fischer the PA I worked with was very thorough in her care for my thoracic spine pain. She listened to me and allowed me to pinpoint where the pain was. She wrote up the prescription for the MRI that I needed and true to her word, called me back and gave me the results over the phone, instead of forcing me to come in and have to pay another co-​pay. She was also cool with me going to my usual guy for Physical Therapy, even though it was out of house. She didn’t try to persuade me to use one of their guys, something I’ve encountered with countless other doctors.
She was also nice enough to mail me the MRI results and my script for PT.
I enjoyed the honesty here– it didn’t seem to me like a lot of other doctor’s offices who are really in it to milk the insurance companies and have me come back as many times as possible so they can get paid. I would definitely go back here and would suggest people give Jen a shot for a genuine assessment. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back here in the future.
