Reliably good service and food. nice variety of Asian fusion with sushi and entrees and appetizers everyone can savor. The lunch menu is also fast and tasty and just the right portions.

Ordered online, they couldnt make what i wanted, instead of calling me to tell me, they wait until i get there 20 min later to tell me. Girl wasnt apologetic either, kind of rude. Haven’t come here in years, clearly wasn’t missin out on much.

Wild Ginger is around the corner from my job, so I make frequent stops here. I’ve never had the sushi, but the broccoli ginger chicken was pretty spot on, and the mild mango sauce is delicious, though a little inconsistent. Sometimes it is spicy, other times it is sweet. I prefer the latter and have started asking them to leave the spice out(it’s just hot peppers that make the difference). The wonton soup is also my favorite in the area. Staff is very nice, prices are reasonable — especially if you order at lunchtime. Presentation is nice, portions are large, and the restaurant is quite clean. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the mood for Asian fusion food.

My family has been coming here for a while and it has become our favorite place to eat when everyone’s home. It’s reasonably priced, fresh, and the staff is very very nice! We get sushi, soups and their main dishes.

I popped in here randomly because I saw a half price sushi sign outside the door. Ended up going in and all of the rolls were so cheap! My boyfriend and I got a salmon, tuna, eel/avocado, and spider roll all for $ 15! It was very tasty too for the price. Not the best sushi I have ever had, but definitely worth it. I would go back.

Been coming here for about 6 years. The food is good but I found a hair in my sushi. Completely turned me off. Not the cleanest place, but I’m pretty bummed this happened :/guess I gotta find a new sushi place

The special rolls and the half price menu are always delicious. It’s byob, which makes it perfect for a night out. Not five stars only because I feel that the service is always lacking. I’ve always felt rushed each time I’ve dined here.

Honestly for the prices and deals this place has their sushi is amazing. Love coming to this place, where else can you get 8 rolls for under 45 dollars? Although it may not be the best sushi I’ve ever had, it sure hits the spot when you get that sushi craving. Their entrée deals are really good too and delicious! I highly recommend the rock shrimp! Only annoying thing is that they charge extra for spicy mayo/eel sauce which most other sushi places don’t.

I really do not know why Wild ginger has the rating it has because, for the price, it is top three best sushi places in ridgewood. The fact that there is half off sushi here ALLTHETIME is spectacular in itself; but add on the fact that the quality of the sushi is quite high just makes this place a great, nay, fantastic spot to eat. I always come here with my beautiful girlfriend with a nice bottle of wine(it’s BYOB!) and we generally order 2 – 3 rolls each. Almost always our bill never surpasses $ 25. It really is quite cheap. My favorite ones to get are spicy crunchy tuna, sweet potato roll, and the peanut avocado is also pretty good! Definitely come here if you are looking for a nice little sushi place for an incredible price! PS the décor is actually surprisingly pleasant too! One of the best looking sushi places in the area.

Second time dining at this establish, I believe the we came here years ago and were not impressed, so we decided to try this place again. We came here on a Saturday no reservations and were seated promptly for a party of 5. IMO, the menu was too much to choose, there were Chinese, Thai, and Japanese. I do not consider this Asian Fusion more like catering of 3 – 4 Asian Types of food. The food were good, we had the a sushi love boat for 2 more like for 1, lucky we ordered more sushi and my other party ordered sesame chicken& hot & sour soup. Overall the food were good. Staff were courteous but a bit rushed.

Tried this place last night and the sushi was excellent! I got the no name roll which is basically a crunchy spicy tuna roll topped with avocado and eel. Very tasty and the price is right! Also got a regular and spicy tuna rolls for half price. Its a great deal and won’t break the bank! This place is a little cramped and kind of hectic though. I knocked over a glass on accident and the staff handled it well but I can tell they were kind of pissed. I feel like people have to kind of jam into that restaurant. But the great sushi and affordable pricing make it worth the trip.

Updated review: The server I mentioned has been much more friendly, and I’ve appreciated it! I go in often for a solo lunch date in the middle of a work day, and it’s great, fast service and good food.

This place is great! I work in the area so when I’m in the mood for Asian food, this is my go to place. My favorite meal is the Broccoli Soy Ginger Sauce. I was never a fan of Wonton Soup but thanks to Wild Ginger that has completely changed! I would definitely recommend this place.

While sushi is inherently kind of fancy(qualified by something I KNOW I would screw up if I tried), there’s something to be said for not wanting to eat your meal in a place that feels like a nightclub nor a little nook that presents itself as being an authentically copy and pasted from Japan. This place feels like… well, itself. The décor could really be anything, but it’s still neat and great little place. The overhead skylight brings an airy feel to the place and the wooden tables make the place feel warm, rustic and welcoming. I had dinner here with my bff earlier this week and it was great. The sushi was well-represented and tasted fresh and you honestly can’t beat the price. The bill came out to around $ 30 for both of us, and we are girls that can eat and we were both full. Was it the best I’ve ever had? No. But it did satisfy my craving for sushi while also satisfying my craving to keep money in my wallet. The service was good, attentive, quick, but overall neutral. Not overly friendly, but not at all rude. It’s great for a casual mid-week dinner out with friends, someplace that deserves to go into your monthly rotation of tried and true joints, and sometimes you just want a sure thing.

Great food for a hungry vegan as well as a carnivore. We both enjoyed our dinner and were treated with respect and food was brought with haste. Lots of room and plenty of options. nice atmosphere along with being wonderfully attentive.

Went here for lunch and it was good in the sense of everything but the sushi. Atmosphere is great! Servers, great! Ingot the ginger soy tofu with a side of brown rice and it was great! Why did i go to a sushi place and not get sushi, i have no idea. i wasnt planning on NOT getting sushi, but im GLAD i didnt. After my meal i felt that i could just have ONE ika(squid) sushi. It was delicious! But the rice was definitely too vinegary and hard… My father got sushi and the rice was so overpowering. I would say the low rating is for the sushi place having mediocre sushi

Every Xmas my sister visits & organizes a dinner out with friends & family. This year Wild Ginger was suggested so she made Saturday night reservations for 6 which grew to 9, then 10& finally 12. Each time she called they accommodated her request even when it went from 8 to 12 late Saturday afternoon. That’s not easy for any restaurant & Wild Ginger is not a huge space. The result was a wonderful evening with outstanding food & service. Food came out on time & hot. Dishes were promptly whisked away when needed & the wait staff made us feel comfortable & well served. As for the food — delicious. Absolutely delicious. Everyone was raving about their appetizers & dinners. They even made a special dinner that wasn’t on the menu. I had duck which was cooked perfectly. It’s a BYOB; we brought wine. Here too service was great — they asked us which bottle we wanted opened rather than just grabbing & opening what was there. It was my first time here but I’m definitely coming back often.

First off, free strong green tea, nice. Had the Dinner special(for dishes) for 18.99. was fine. It doesn’t seem to be on the menu on their website for some reason Appetizer: Vietnamese salad(well kind of) The vietnamese salad as they said combined mango, some crispy noodles, and some veggies with a sauce similar to the one found in the salads at gener(ic)al Japanese players. While I wouldn’t call it Vietnamese, the flavor was fine, but strange. Good portion though 2.8, though I’d give it a 3 or something if it was renamed Soup: Miso The seaweed in there had a bit of crunch. There was also a bit more miso in there than normal. 3.2 Main: Sambal Samba Not good, no Sambal flavor. However, the brown rice is free, the eggplant was solid, and there was a good amount of chicken, which while not being too flavorful, it also did not have the texture of Chinese-American dishes. 2.5 I’d try something different from this Dessert: Green Tea Ice Cream This was actually a really good brand of it. I have found this brand in Japanese stores before. Kinda surprising how bitter it was. 3.8

Asian-fusion restaurant which offers a variety of sushi and hot dishes. Nice décor — trendier than the other sushi restaurants in Ridgewood. The mixed green salad was quite boring(what do you expect?) but the seaweed salad was quite good. It came with mango on the side — thankfully it wasn’t mixed in. That would have ruined the salad — mango is a stand-alone item for me. We split a few rolls(pictures attached): — Chestnut Street Roll — Swan Roll — Philadelphia Roll — Victoria Roll(I think?) Tables are super-tight together. We were half waiting for the couple sitting next to us to sample some of our rolls since they were eyeing them so intently. Hands off! Wild Ginger offers a half-price sushi menu and this was met with skepticism by us. «What’s the catch?» we asked. There was no catch — this is an every day menu. Our bill was $ 47. Pretty reasonable, no? BYOB!
