Nice place to go and fly a kite, the view is beautiful! They have a bathroom here and some picnic benches to have a nice lunch.

Baylis Park is an itty bitty nature preserve/picnic area, that I had the pleasure of lunching at yesterday afternoon. It is a modest turn off on the Rim of The World Highway. Practical for groups of all sizes, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the beauty of this place is terribly romantic :) If you, and the person you’re sweet on would dig a picnic in nature, take my advice and dine on one of these ol’ concrete tables(perhaps after hiking the Heart Rock trail). There are a plethora of picnic tables/benches in both shade and sun. The view is breathtaking ! Don’t just sit at the first bench you see(we did, since it had a grill next to it) but travel down the road a bit for some spectacular table locations. Watching the sun beginning it lazy decent was magical. Things To Note : — The«bathroom» is a glorified hole in the floor, with no electricity. But hey, the door shuts :) — They provide cans for both trash and recycling. So clean up after yourselves, you filthy animals ! — The parking lot holds very few cars. — The turnoff is quick so attempt not to miss it. — I put this under«Active Life,» since that was the closest fit — but you need not be athletic in any way to come here !
