My family have been VERY disappointed with our experience of Bee Hive Homes, they could not keep track of the medications properly, they have slow to no follow through, staff turnover, we even hired a «patient advocate» for mom and even then the facility showed little follow through and meds still messed up! She(the advocate) could not believe it and is planning to put in a formal complaint to the state about its poor operations, I leave all that to her, because she works with the” bigger” picture! I, myself, only have this means and so here I am, I have never done a negative view on any organization, but the struggle and heart ache for our family has been for this«almost a year» and poor experience for my mom’s care, I have to tell the story… here is only 2 examples… there are so many! I was with mom in her room and she needed assistance, she rang 3 times in a space of 10 minutes, I encouraged her to wait and when she rang a 4th, I went out and saw a caregiver and told her of mom calling, she looked at the call box and said verbatim, «Oh, I am not going to lie to you, we had it turned off.» You think that is good care? Mom could have been on the floor for all we would know. Another is mom just got back from the hospital and she seemed very weak and words slurred, not sure if she was just tired or not, I asked for her blood pressure, because that is why she was sent in the first place. The caregiver tried 6 times and could not get it and she said, «Well this is embarrassing» And I said no, this is scarey that you cannot get a simple blood pressure. I asked her to do it the«Old fashion» way and she did know how. I went to my hotel, of course, worried so I called from 10:30pm-midnight but got a busy signal at Bee Hive. I just prayed that all was well. Then again calling again 4:30am-7:00am still busy. When I called the manager and finally got through and told her all about it, she said a resident uses the phone at night! And we need a new blood pressure cuff! I have been patient, kind and beyond trusting with this staff, and did not find it returned with any change of heart. I am so wearied by all of this energy, the negativity is so disturbing, and my only consolation is that mom is now in a properly run facility with excellent staff and consistent medical care! And she is thriving! I let go of all of this, now that I have in conscience I have got the word out! We all have our point of view, I can only in truth share mine! God’s peace to you all, S. Rebecca J. Shinas, OP PS A little recommendation to anyone looking for a place for your loved ones, GET A CAREMANAGER, PATIENTADVOCATE first, because they have been«around the block» they know the scoop on most of the care facilities in the area! I wish we had!
