After being in the ABQ/​Rio Rancho area for a little under a month, this «East-​Coaster» grew weary of Red Chile, Green Chile, Christmas, and everything Chile, Chile, Chile. Sometimes you just want a good ol’ hot dog!
And Ice Cream & Hot Dog Palace has it!
Granted, they do serve up a TON of local, traditional influences in their foods (The Tamale Taco and Dogs are very interesting), but if you’re looking for a tasty hot dog covered in CHILI and cheese, or hand-​made, artisan ice cream, THIS is the place to stop.
I definitely plan to go back as soon as I have a hankering for hand-​blended Coffee Ice Cream or a very unique Mint Chocolate Chip (THE BEST).
The atmosphere is casual, and incredibly friendly. A mix of local art, photography from the owner, and «Fridge-​worthy» accomplishments from the owner’s sons decorate the walls. Feels comfortable, and homey, and I love it.
