The setup and décor is alright nothing to get too exited about, but it is clean and welcoming so I am fine with no frills. The ‘kids play area” in the corner is but strange. The menu is long and a bit confusing so I decided to close it up and order right off the pictures on Unilocal!I browsed through the pictures and found two things that look delicious and received great comments, so decided on the pork spring rolls and a small bowl of chicken phở. When they take your order they plug it directly to a mobile device at your table so the kitchen gets stared as soon as you order. I love this feature, t is fast, efficient, modern and makes lunch as quick as can be. The spring rolls came first and I devoured them immediately, not a fan of the sauce it came with but I am fine with just a touch of soy. Then the phở came and it was amazing. I can hold my own in the eating department, but yes these two little spring rolls and«bowl of soup» filled me up. I was stuffed going back to work. I have been back a second time and repeated my same order and it was just as delicious as the first time. I am excited for this to become a new regular place for me.

Recently in Phoenix and tried Phở for the first time. Tried a few places in Albuquerque but Phở Bar takes the prize! Absolutely delicious!!! Definitely will be back! I had the beef meatball bowl and I loved it. Broth was tasty, the noodles were just right and the beef meatballs had pieces of onions in them, so good! Had a Thai Ice Tea to accompany my meal, couldn’t be better!

Moving back to NM from Southern California, where we were about 15 minutes away from an area called little Saigon, we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to find a Vietnamese restaurant as good and authentic as what we were used to. We tried a couple of other places in both Rio Rancho and Albuquerque and were disappointed. Then we found Phở Bar. This place is SOGOOD!!! All of the dishes I have tried are great. My husband loves the sandwiches and we both love the phở and rice noodle dishes. The kids meals are very reasonably priced, so it won’t kill your wallet to eat here with the kids. The service is very consistently good and fast, believe me, we have eaten here a lot! I just love it, and my husband, who grew up eating Vietnamese food very often in So Cal, says that this is not only the best place in town but possibly the best Vietnamese food he has ever had. I highly recommend it!

Excellent place! Our usual spot is closed on Mondays but now I’m just going to start coming here instead. I usually go to Sai Gon 2 down the street a bit, but this place is better tasting. My wife got the chicken phở and she thought the chicken tasted way better. I got the bun bo hue, and it’s more authentic here, not to mention better tasting. We got the #16 grilled beef spring rolls, holy hell they were great! We’re so glad we found this place! Would have given five stars but it was FREEZING in there and they don’t serve beer! What the hell is that?!?

Love this place! It was my first time ever trying vietnamese food and also trying phở. It was delicious! And I will be going back for more! I ordered the egg rolls, tofu phở and my son had the shrimp udon noodles. The egg rolls were nice, hot and crunchy! You could tell that they were made with real pork. The tofu phở was good, the vegetables in my phở still had bite to them which I loved! The udon noodles had a really flavorful broth. The portions were big. The food was cheap. So win win.

Shake it a baby now! Shake it with an avocado shake with boba. The phở here is phở-tans tic! I get the combo phở which comes with all sorts of beef and meatballs. My complaint-I’m not sure why most places slice their meat balls. After all it’s meat“balls”, not meat circles.

Have been craving Phở lately and was working just down the road today… lucky me! And even better, had not yet had a Banh mi and have been wanting to try it. Ordered Rare Steak Phở and a Vietnamese Meatball Banh mi. Both were OUTSTANDING. The Bahn mi was not only very reasonably price, but had a nice spicy bite to it. Pickled veggies and all ingredients were fresh and light. Can’t even describe the mélange of flavors that flooded my taste buds. The bread was perfect, too. The Phở broth was richly layered and plenty of basil, cilantro, jalapenos, and both hot and sweet sauces to season to my heart’s content. And plenty of leftovers for dinner tonight. Bonus! Definitely a return trip!

A Great Phở place! The staff(one guy), we were here before a holiday and the person that took our order, prepared our meal and served us. He made sure we were taken care of along with the other customers. I really enjoyed the space and the bar. They integrated Sake with great deals that we couldn’t pass up. I would definitely venture to the west side to enjoy more and more of this phở-n.

The food is fantastic! The service leaves something to be desired. This is the second time I have placed a to-go order, and both times my order never made it to the kitchen. Very frustrating when hungry.

Great place! The kids love the avocado or jackfruit milkshakes :-) Noodle bowls are fantastic! Shrimp sausage on sugar cane really good too! Service is great — very kind staff :-) Going to explore the menu more in depth next visit.

As a half-Viet, I am always on the lookout for good Vietnamese food. Having just left the the Rio Rancho/ABQ area after a year and a half of living there, I was sad that I hadn’t discovered this place until right before moving, and so have only eaten here three times. The goi cuon(spring rolls) were ok, though rolled by either a child, or someone not used to rolling rice paper(I found this happens a lot in New Mexico) and served with the usual peanut sauce that restaurants serve, but that never tastes like the sauce served in homes. Think less peanut butter, more hoi sin with roasted peanuts or something. If peanut butter flavor is what you’re used to, you should like it. Why I am writing is that thier cha gio(fried egg rolls) were the best I’d had in my time in New Mexico. They weren’t over-stuffed with carrots, like I’d had a lot of there, and served with the proper garnishes of rice vermicelli, lettuce, mint, fish sauce based dipping sauce, pickled daikon/carrot, etc. I make my own cha gio at home, but as it’s an all-day affair, it’s not done often, and so I approve of theirs. The fresh veggies/herbs are important! I was also so excited that I could order what at home is called goi ga, I forget what it’s called on this menu. The chicken and cabbage salad. I love this dish, but never make it as the signature herb(rau rum I think it’s called) isn’t reliably found in good condition. Sadly this was reflected in the salad, it was completely absent. The chicken was grilled, which added a bit more flavor and made up a little for the lack of the proper herb flavor. The caphe sua da(Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk) was decent, as was the service I received the few times I went there. I recommend this place over the others on the west side, and am giving it four stars, but only based on its competitors, as I found ABQ area asian food to be very disappointing in general.(Explains why in another state, one of my mother’s Viet friends, who had lived in ABQ, was always so impressed with my Vietnamese restaurant choices when I brought her take out: I’m only half-Viet and nowhere near as picky as anyone from Vietnam I’d ever met!) This restaurant deserves more business, it’s a shame that it’s so easy to miss while driving. Oh and the phở: I won’t eat restaurant phở(I make it, it’s easy) but my husband liked it. As a disclaimer he has never had a bowl of phở he didn’t like!

I come here often for the Phở and Sandwich lunch special. Their portions are large and the sandwiches are fantastic. I usually order the Korean Beef sandwich with a beef meatball and rare beef phở, but occasionally switch up with the crab and shrimp phở. The service here is always good and I am always greeted with friendly service from the family that runs the restaurant. It is a local favorite for Vietnamese and phở lovers in Rio Rancho and is usually well attended during the lunch hour. You’ll catch me here almost once a week!

We ate here on a Sunday morning. It was exactly what we needed to get a sluggish day started. When we walked in the aromatics were wonderful and inviting! What we were smelling was basil, it smelled delicious! Our medium phở bowls were enough for two, I’d definitely eat here again!

Some of the best Phở I’ve had in Abq. The restaurant is clean, welcoming and organized. For lunch several tables were occupied, which is always a good sign in Rio Rancho midweek. They have an extensive menu, but of course I stuck to the old standbys. The shrimp spring rolls were wonderful, accompanied of course by peanut sauce, add some sirracha and I was in heaven. I got the rare beef phở, and it was the lunch size portion… I can’t even imagine getting anything bigger. I even took home some! Prices were extremely reasonable, service was great, food tasted fresh. Will return and glad to have this gem in Rio Rancho.

As a long time fan of Café Trang, Phở Bar’s sister restaurant in the international district, I was thrilled when this place opened up to bring their delicious Vietnamese cuisine to the westside. Despite a few hiccups in service, Phở Bar has continually improved their craft and has become my favorite spot for Vietnamese, especially when it comes to the phở and bahn. When it comes to the menu, Phở Bar has all the bases covered. The phở, probably the most popular order at any Vietnamese restaurant is incredible. The rich, decadent broth sports layers and layers of amazing flavor which is only strengthened by the tons of fresh veggies adorning the garden plate and the numerous options for protein. My personal favorite is tendon and rare steak. Now, it may sound weird, but they have the best tendon here. Thinly slice so it becomes very tender and soft(not chewy and knobbly like at other places). Other soups like the lemongrass soup or the spicy bun bo hue are truly excellent as well. These folks really know their broth. The grilled options, whether they’re on rice, vermicelli noodles, or vermicelli patties, are seriously amazing. Quality cuts of meat, char-grilled to perfection and served up with various delightful options like sliced egg rolls, fried egg, various homemade sausages, or shrimp, make these a worthy alternative to the soups. Their shrimp sausage grilled on sugar cane is one of my favorite foods of all time. It’s sometimes a challenge to find the entrée that has exactly what I want toppings-wise, but I am rarely anything less than thrilled with my order. All their ingredients are noticeably high in quality and served in large portions that are generous with the meat and veg. On the appetizer side of things, there’s one minor blemish, as the spring rolls are only average. However, the bahn are sumptuous and perfect, especially since they offer the rather rare shrimp sausage bahn mi(which is just irresponsibly delicious). Others starters such as stuffed chicken wings, calamari salad, and bahn are delicious enough to make ordering an entrée seem superfluous. And finally, on the note of their service: Phở Bar had a pretty rough start in this area, as other reviewers have noticed. However, they have completely turned that around. The service is now quick, efficient, and friendly. Everything I’d expect from a top-notch wait staff. Coupled with the great prices, amazing food, and beautiful location, I have no reservations about giving this place 5 stars. Highly recommended for anyone with any interest at all in Vietnamese cuisine.
