Food was uncooked and cold! I wouldn’t be surprised if I got salmonella from their broccoli! The man working the stand was rude and EXTREMELY unprofessional he stole 20 dollars off the floor and kept it for himself instead of looking for the correct owner, the food is pricey and disgusting and the customer service is terrible!

«You hook ‘em, We cook ‘em!» Yep. That’s their motto. In addition to a large Chinese-American type of menu, Wok and Roll’s main appeal to me is that they will cook your fish in about 12 different ways — your choice. Given that Montauk is a fishing town, this is a popular place for people who have gone fishing. You bring as much fish filets as you want — and they will even return the remainder to you if left unused. Now, for our party of 10 for dinner, including the first mate on one of the boats we took out, we took 19 pounds of fish to the restaurant — and while the staff told us it’s entirely too much fish — we did manage to have the whole thing cooked and ate about 80% of it. We also ordered additional vegetable dishes as well as white and fried rice. The sauce/cooking style choices that we opted for were as follows: General Tso’s Curry Mango Ginger Scallion Garlic We had caught both Striped Bass as well as Bluefish, so we basically had both types cooked in each way. The most popular was the striped bass General Tso style — which most in our party was raving about(not me). I much preferred the bluefish. It’s way too sweet and«Americanized» for my taste in a Chinese restaurant. The curry striped bass, however, was outstanding — like Japanese curry sauce. The garlic bluefish was also very good, though again, a bit too sweet for my taste. Ginger scallion bluefish was too bland. The mango was basically bad. The fish, given that we had just caught it, was excellent, but the only thing that could bring that fresh fish down was that horrible mango sauce. The fried rice was okay at best — and the broccoli dish we had was nothing special. Service was neither this nor that. I didn’t feel they were rude, but then again, nobody was particularly friendly either. I should mention that this is another one of those places that serve both Chinese AND Japanese cuisine, including sushi. I just don’t see the connection. There is some commonality between Chinese and Korean, and then again, some between Korean and Japanese, but NONE between Chinese and Japanese, yet it’s the most common combination I find — and 98% of the time, it’s horrible. One exception would be SOME Todai locations — but that’s a buffet and a different story altogether. In any case — Wok and Roll is yet another«Montauk favorite» place — and while the food was decent, I cannot say I was impressed. If you’re lazy and don’t feel like cooking the fish you caught — this place is acceptable, but what they cooked with what we hooked was just OKAY. No more, no less… except that Mango sauce. That was truly disgusting. As for whatever else they serve — I can’t comment, as I only tried two things. Given how popular this place is, perhaps it’s a lot better?

It’s in the outlet mall food court. Yum yum yum! They have Chinese-style fried chicken drumsticks(the best part)! For those of you who have never heard of the beast, it’s dipped in an egg batter and fried to a crispy golden perfection. So steamy and moist inside, and so crunchy(but without a starchy crust) on the outside. You can get it as part of the 2 item combo plate for($ 5.99 + tax). p. s. — Cash only.
