99 Cents Only Stores

They need to change their name from
.99 cent only stores to .99 cents and up. There is a lot of stuff originally marked $ 6.99 and $ 2.99 etc. when you go to pay for it it’s only $.99. However, there are a lot of things marked $ 1.99 that ring up $ 1.99.
So, what’s in a name? Apparently nothing.

Out of a lot of .99 cent stores I think this one has to be the cleanest and most organized one around. It’s usually not that busy when I’ve come in at different times of the day, and they do carry a lot of name brand items.
I like this location because unlike most of .99 cent stores the aisles are wide and you don’t feel claustrophobic when shopping with multiple people in one place.
Only downside is a lot of homeless outside and inside the store.

Never going here again! We went in yesterday and it was Too crowded and they usually only have about one or two cashiers available. Customers are rude, I had one lady over hear my Mom speaking Spanish and she had the audacity to tell my mother this is America speak English in front of one of the workers. Which is ignorant being this area is primarily Hispanics. Anyway once we went up to pay the cashier also tried to accuse us of putting things in the cart without paying. Girl please its a $ 0.99 store I could buy almost every product in the store. She was very rude and ignorant as well. Why would i attempt to take a product that only cost $ 1? Anyways learn my lesson rather pay the extra few cents at Walmart.

I have only been here a few times but every time I go there is 1 cashier open and a long long line. Last night when I went again 1 cashier open and the line went all the way to the back of the store. The cashier didn’t call for more cashiers and who knows where the manager on duty was because that person should have seen how bad the line was. It took over 20 minutes to get to the front of the line when finally 2 more cashiers opened up. It shouldn’t have to take that long.

my butt backed into someone after reaching down for a box of Kleenex. it was a substantial bump into someone bigger than me. as i looked back at the woman and oriented myself, my mind raced in the 5 silent seconds that followed,… what if she wanted to fight?
i fight with words, not with fists – never even been close to brawling – but i thought perhaps my luck had run out…
all of a sudden she gave a giggle and joked about whether i was ok, being the smaller. she was 99 Cents Only staff! hootin’ and hollerin’ like old friends, we were, as the rest of the checkers looked on.
it’s a large store with high ceilings so it feels a bit warehousey. they have the same merchandise, down to the Falize 74% chocolate and Crystal Geyser.
