Calypso Hookah Lounge

Best hookah lounge I have ever been too! Amazing staff and best hookah. We enjoyed the great environment and great location– right by UCR. Nice and friendly staff. Nice sofas and close late! They give amazing popcorn as well! We will definitely be back soon! They changed the name to Paradise Hookah because the new owners are great!

Probably the best hookah lounge I’ve been too. $ 13 for Starbuzz tobacco and they even included a free drink per person. Along with that they served us these sweet Arabic treats for free and unsolicited. The customer service was excellent and you can’t beat the price. Will definitely come back again. Hopefully it will continue to be this awesome.

Went in yesterday with a group, Place is horrible with costumer service and management ! I bought the deal on Unilocal 30 $ for 50 $ and they didn’t allow me to use after I bought it! They first said it wasn’t them then they started saying that it was there grand opening night deal smh why would it still be on Unilocal in the first place ! Unprofessional seriously ! It wasn’t even nobody there only bout two people and there employee was drunk outta his mind!

When looking for a hookah bar i like to pick locations that aren’t over crowded and offer good service at a decent price. That’s exactly what calypso has to offer, their hookah’s are only $ 10 for two people and they hit very nice. I feel hookah is best complimented with tea and it just so happens calypso serves great tea as well! I usually like to come here and catch the latest NBA games while i kick back and enjoy some great hookah with delicious tea. If you’re in the mood for hookah and in the area, check these guys out!

I was over there last night dairy hookah bad service i have to ask for charcoal my first time with bad experience i dont recommend it laud music, i see people drink alcohol i was with friend. That my first time i said something in Unilocal because i pay 15 $ and was not good hookah

Pretty empty. The ambiance was pretty chill, music was good. Not really any seclusion as its like a big living room. The hookah aspect was pretty good. Service wasn’t rude not friendly, they were just there. Prices were awesome, a bang for your buck. Overall worth it. Only reason it didn’t get was 5 stars: it’s too open, no privacy.

Pros:
1. Hookah is packed better than Luxor and University (Doesn’t have the coal taste).
2. Owner (s) are friendly and ready to recommend a flavor if you’re new.
3. Free wifi that actually works.
Cons:
1. The Hookah Base, Stem, and Hose doesn’t seem to be cleaned out very often. Not sure if their hoses are non-​washable, but felt a tad bit sick while smoking (most likely the water or mixed taste from previous use).
2. Very pricey for hookah at $ 16 after tax. Actually the only hookah place between the four near UCR that takes tax. Given that they don’t charge for mixing flavors (which isn’t very hard and no one should do because they don’t lose anything by doing so) this place is still definitely the most expensive.
3. Not a lot of variety in flavor from what I saw. I think they just had the basic Starbuzz and Al Fakar and only like 15 flavors in total (will have to double check).
4. I don’t like that they allow cigarettes to be smoked inside (I saw ashtrays with cigarette butts) because I enjoy hookah for its fruity smell and the smells conflict.
5. Parking is kind of sketchy because there is no lighting. It doesn’t help that there aren’t a lot of people around.
This can be a Pro for some and Con for others, but there aren’t a lot of people that come here (the two times I visited, I was the only customer). For some this place can be a quiet and peaceful lounge. But hookah is a social activity, so others might find the lack of people boring.
¹⁰⁄₁₀ would still go over Luxor and University despite the ridiculous price because their hookahs are just unbearable and splitting cost with a friend can help relieve the burden.

Came to this hookah bar not expecting much but ended up loving the place! Management makes you feel so welcomed! I recommend this hookah bar in riverside over any! Owner is super nice and makes the best hookahs!

The e-​hookah is so cool!!! :3 We had two regular hookahs as well but I prefer the e-​hookah. Very smooth hit and tastes amazing. Try it!
