First time ever trying out these cupcakes. Was surprised to see how small this place is! They only had a roughly 15 variety of cupcakes ranging between $ 3.50-$ 4.00 a pop! I ordered the triple chocolate cupcake, composed of chocolate cake, chocolate frosting and chocolate shavings on top. The presentation of the cupcake rings high quality. I opened the unique box and took a bite of it, only to be disappointed. The spongy part was the best part of the mixture, which isn’t saying much. The next layer would be the chocolate frosting. Honestly, it tasted 100 percent store bought, making an unbalanced and synthetic flavor. The chocolate shavings were a nice touch visually, but in reality tasted cheep, like it was shaved off of a candy bar at the local dollar store. Ended up throwing away most of the cupcake. Considering the high standard of Duane’s Restaurant, this place is a head scratcher. Honestly save your money.

Love the location. The place is super cute inside. Cupcakes are good, but honestly nothing great to me. I feel like you can make a better cupcake at home. I also think they are a little overpriced, but they do have cute packaging and maybe thats why the prices are a little high. Staff was nice, place was clean. Nice place to come to once in awhile.

Cupcakes are one of my favorite treats so I have been to quite a lot of bakeries in Southern California. Casey’s cupcakes one cupcake wars so they must know what they’re doing. The Decour of this picture is amazing. It’s decorated like a high-end boutique but the cupcakes reasonably price. They are beautifully decorated. The girl selling the cupcake going to answer my questions about what was in the flavors of all the cupcakes and they even have an Easter one with the Peep on top. For an additional fee you can have ice cream injected into cupcake if you’re up for something super sweet. I ordered the double chocolate cupcake. The cake was rather dry but the frosting was just the right amount of sweetness. It also had an edible logo and chocolates swirls. I would go back to try more flavors.

i am so perplexed by people. I am reading reviews and how the heck do you post a bad review about a cupcake? First, cupcakes are just about always going to be drier in texture than a cake. thats baking 101. So if you want a cake, go get a freakin cake. This is a cupcake shop. The cupcakes are great. They flavors are good. Lots of flavors to choose from. They are decorated super cute. Such a fun mommy and baby date. $ 3.50 for a treat, heck yes! The customer service is good. Its a cupcake shop. Minimum wage employees, what do some people expect(again, referring to the people with the negative reviews). People working in a cupcake shop are not going to have extensive knowledge in customer service for the most part. Rant, but geese. Its a cupcake for crying out loud. I cannot take anyone seriously that gives a bad review for a $ 3.50 cupcake. Thats nuts. I recommend Caseys Cupcakes for a treat that wont break the bank

Casey’s Cupcakes is located in Downtown Riverside next to the Mission Inn, across from Simple Simon’s Bakery & Bistro. You can’t miss its pink awning over the two white double-doors. The brightly lit interior is covered in pink and filled with proprietary items such as their cupcake mixes and greeting cards. The glass display case is filled with a variety of cupcake flavors, including gluten-free cupcakes and even ‘pupcakes’ for your fur baby. I’ve had a few of Casey’s Cupcakes over the years since they opened but have always felt it was lacking something. My first experience was when a college friend brought over a half-dozen assorted cupcakes for us and a couple friends to share. Some were good and others were just okay. Another experience was dining at the Mission Inn and I ordered one of the lemon cupcakes for dessert. Unfortunately, it was so dry I didn’t finish it. My latest experience was almost similar. I ordered the Excellent Espresso because it looked so pretty. I decided to try a piece, took a bite, and felt overwhelmed by the sweet frosting. The inside of the cupcake actually looked moist but had a lot of air bubbles(it wasn’t the dense cupcakes I normally prefer). The turn off was the cloyingly sweet frosting! I didn’t like the taste it left in my mouth even hours after that small bite. Sad to say I had to throw it away after the first(and last) bite. Customer service wasn’t as pleasant as it ‘should’ be, especially within a room that shouts happy colors. During my latest visit, for example, a couple came out of the shop with a soft serve ice cream topped with a cupcake. It looked really good and the couple said it was only $ 5.00(not much more in price with a cupcake alone). Another table-neighbor overheard our conversation with the couple and had said she wished she was offered the option for ice cream since it was hot outside. I had to agree. The employee should have sold up and offered it(or other add ons) to make additional profit for the business… just a thought. Overall, I really want to like Casey’s Cupcakes but every experience has left my palate unsatisfied. Perhaps, I’ll give them a try again with a sugar-free cupcake(they were out the last time I visited). On a positive note, I do love their cute graphics and branding! :)

I am very disappointed in the cupcake that I had. I have been hearing all this hype about these cupcakes and how good they are but when I did try it I was extremely disappointed. It is so not worth the $ 3.50 I paid for this cupcake. I could have made a better one. The cupcake was extremely dry and the frosting was extremely sweet. There was no balance of flavors. I felt like I was eating cardboard. Needless to say I will not go back and won’t tell anyone about how good this cupcake was. I am really surprise that they won cupcake wars.

I actually hate cupcakes. However, my best friend wanted me to try this place before i judged too quickly. I had the sassy strawberry-it was superb. I’m usually not of fan of icing, or anything equivalent to that, but this place makes their cupcakes so well. I was awe-struck after eating it-I actually liked a cupcake.

As a student, my stress-relief is eating. I’m very interested in what I eat, and the best experience I can get out of it. My earliest memory of Casey’s Cupcakes is my freshman year, because the cupcakes were sold on the UCR campus. And still, I haven’t ever been disappointed by Casey’s Cupcakes. At $ 3.50, Casey’s Cupcakes are a pretty great treat, and if I visit their location, I usually buy one of their novelty sodas to drink with it. It’s girly, but that’s the chef’s voice as an artist. The ambience of the store is pink, refreshing and cute. For me, this place is great for simple gourmet experience in Riverside. All the flavors I’ve tried are enjoyable– not in a Mcdonalds way, but in a flavorful, fluffy way thats harder to find. I always look forward to visiting. A 5⁄5 from me.

I went again to try these famous cupcakes in riverside and yet AGAIN I am disappointed. I am not surprised that this place has 2.5 stars! These cupcakes are way too overrated. I tried the red velvet yet again and AGAIN it was dry. I couldn’t even finish the whole thing! Now let me tell you this… I am no dessert connoisseur and no I am not a Unilocal bully(Check my profile I give out a lot of good reviews) I would rather save my money at this place and walk just a few feet away to Serena’s cupcakes. Caseys cupcakes store is super cute and the staff is very friendly but unfortunately I will never come here again because of the terrible cupcakes :(

I have to give this place a 4 Star because 1. They not only do they have cupcakes for humans, but they also have cupcake for dogs. 2. They give you the option to inject vanilla ice cream into your cupcake. 3. Place is very clean. 4. Customer service was terrific!!!

Okay, not sure where all the haters are coming from.. . surely not from folks who’ve been to other«gourmet» cupcakeries. Drove out to Riverside from Ventura County on Christmas Day to visit the Mission Inn’s Festival of Lights. We parked several blocks away and came around the building on the pedestrian mall side, which leads by Casey’s. Noted the line, and came back to wait our turn when we were done with dinner, a visit to the bar, and viewing the amazing lights and decorations at the Inn. By the time we got in line, it was pushing 9:00 and quite cold and breezy outside. My brother thought we were nuts to wait for cupcakes in those conditions, but my niece and I were determined to wait it out! So while bro strolled around the entire extra-large city block of the Inn, we paid our dues in the queue. Once inside, we were greeted with festive holiday decorations and mountains of pink décor. Fresh trays of goodies were coming out from the kitchen even at that hour. Staff members were super friendly and gracious, considering the hoards of guests they’d been handling all day on Christmas. Pleasantly surprised to see that the cupcakes were only $ 3.50 a piece, since many other bakeries are charging $ 4.50 to $ 5.00 per cupcake these days. They also had a deal on half dozen, you saved $.25 each. We chose luscious lemon, peanut butter panache, German chocolate, decadent chocolate, and a sugar free version. Boy, did I have fun teasing my brother about his griping the night before when we had the cupcakes for breakfast the next morning. ;-) Great texture, not overly sweet, and very flavorful.

So i loved the cupcakes. I asked them to change a few things to fit my color scheme for the special event and they did. They had great customer service and Viviana was so helpful and pleasant. Over all the cupcakes are pricy but well worth it. They are sweet but most cupcakes should be sweet.

The first thing i want to start off by saying is that in NOWAY does Casey, price her cupcakes @ $ 3.50 each for financial gains, because she doesn’t need to or is stressed out to make rent on her location at this exquisite Mission Inn. For one… her FATHER owns the Mission Inn, so I’m sure daddy would never evict his baby girl over unpaid rent. Her continuous long lines out the door speak for themselves. 2 — her cupcakes are actually pretty tasty. I’ve had the red velvet, Caribbean coconut, German cake, lemon and strawberry. Honestly I’ve enjoyed them all. Never to sweet. And the ingredients on the toppings alone is a little extra at any quality bakery. Today i tried the hot chocolate with whipped cream. Very rich & yummy. Well worth the $ 2.50. Another huge surprise was the Ginger Ale. Omg! For $ 2.50 Absolutely delicious! Never had Filberts brand but will definitely be stocking my refrigerator with them. I also chose the lemon & strawberry cupcakes. Both very moist & enjoyed them enough to lick(once) the frosting off my pinky. ;) One thing miserable about getting to this location is the parking. You may get lucky to find a spot on Mission, which is metered so remember to pay. other then that you’re going to circle around to a few different parking lots & pay for that privileged. Then be prepared to walk a distance if you weren’t lucky to find one in front. On the positive note… you’ll walk off the calories from that cupcake! Haha The décor is so girlie. A great place for a mommy & me to spend some quality time chatting /sharing a sweet treat. She also employees the sweetest employees. Today I was lucky enough to get CHRISTINE, to help me make one of my decisions… You’re very sweet. I’ll be back & would recommend to you!

Every year, my family and I go to the Mission Inn for dinner. We always order Casey’s cupcakes for dessert. Casey’s cupcakes are delicious, moist, and full of flavor.

I’m surprised at the bad reviews! I came into write about how much I enjoyed the cupcake. I tried the red velvet and the peanut butter. they aren’t the best I’ve ever had, they were a tiny bit dry and the frosting wasn’t standout but what I liked is that they taste home made. they weren’t fancy or special but tasted like something my mom would make. now why I’m giving them 3 stars in stead if 4, is the price. I cannot believe they are 3.50 $. there pretty small too. the taste doesn’t match the price. but they are packed and people are paying it so they are making $$$. I’d come back when in riverside. lots of flavors if like to try. the store was very nice, very cute and girly, stylish and modern décor. the girls at the counter were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the visit, and the cupcakes, I didn’t enjoy the price.

The cupcakes were 50% larger several years ago. They charge $ 3.50 each which is 100% too much. Unfortunately there are too many folks with too much money allowing the owners to overcharge. The cupcakes are acceptable, but WAY over priced.

I’m not a cupcake person by any means. I think it’s weird to make something so small yet have the same calories, if not more, than a regular slice of cake. But hey, I get it, it’s convenience to not have to eat cake with a fork and a plate. It makes more sense. So when my daughter wanted a cupcake during the Festival of Lights event, I agreed to come here. The line was long so it built some anticipation. We got 3 cupcakes and it was good. I tried the carrot cupcake and my daughter had the chocolate vanilla frosting one while my other daughter had red velvet. They were good, just a bit pricey for what you get.

Ordered the carrot cake cupcake and the red velvet ice cream. The carrot cakes frosting was really yummy. Nice cream cheese flavor. The cake itself lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The ice cream was really good. It’s cupcake infused and had a delicious flavor. If I went back, I would get the ice cream again, but not the cupcake.

A long time ago I tried a cupcake from caseys and I thought it was dry. Still the same. Currently eating a red velvet and there’s nothing that sticks out about this that makes it taste like a red velvet. Even the cream cheese frosting is underwhelming, but it’s a step above the dry, red, chocolatey cupcake. Maybe it’s just meeee. There is the notion that it’s a cupcake wars winner… This is really setting some people’s standards for what they will be getting… and then when you couple that with getting dry cupcakes twice, that expectation falls extra short. It’s cute and«girly.» Pink. I wouldn’t recommend it.
