Great food and loving people!!! Portions make the cost worth every penny. Ambience is pretty laid back. Love coming here, and I come here often. Servers are very nice and they never get an order wrong which is awesome! Gotta try their breakfast!

A nice little restaurant with what I thought could have potential but sadly I was wrong. Not only did I regret ordering the special «prime rib» they have but the turkey sandwich I exchanged it for didn’t really help the situation. Honestly, the only food I enjoyed at that restaurant was probably the pickle that came with the sandwich. The waitress looked a little upset for having her take back the food but I couldn’t help it. 15 bucks for a steak I’m not gonna enjoy. Breakfast, is the best time to go to goody to dine at. Recommend the skillets.

Good food…
Order orange juice they squeeze it fresh — ran out. Understandable — so when it came to the check I was still charged the fresh OJ price vs. non (waitress stated it was a dollar cheaper.)
The guy at the counter — I explained and he rolled his eyes and stated I don’t think its cheaper… It wasn’t until I grabbed the menu and pointed it out that it was rectified… You work there and you don’t know the menu? What a joke.

I’ve been here at least 8 times. It’s like a hidden gem, it does get packed during certain times and days. Mostly weekends and mornings. I’ve tried both breakfast and lunch menu items. All of there food comes in large portions. I’ve yet to try anything that I don’t like from the menu! Sometimes the waitresses get a little overly chatty with other locals and forget about other tables (most people who come here are regular locals) but overall ⁵⁄₅.

Came in today and stood there wating to be greeted like always… The white older man that was taking names looked at me and never acknowledged me… We waited for another 20 mins and nothinggg so we decided to leave… This place has bad customer service. We use to come here alot now we decided not to be returning customers!

They have lots of delicious looking specials. But for some reason they only serve them after 3 o’clock. I sure would like to try them someday.

Goodys is just a good ol hometown restaurant. It’s not a fancy place and it’s not a steakhouse, if those two things are what you’re looking for then take your pretentious attitude away from here and keep on looking! That being said, we love Goodys! We’ve had breakfast here every Sunday for the last five years and the food is great, never had a problem. The people who work here are very friendly (Chris, the guy at the register, is a little quirky but still nice) and Molly the owner is a sweetheart. If you’re had a bad experience here it’s probably because you were being a jerk in the first place! A little bit of kindness goes along way.

Had to travel Van Buren for an errand-​decided to stop for late lunch early dinner. I wanted REAL food – salad, mashed potatos FOOD.
Been wanting liver and onions… YES liver –stop making faces!
Huge dinner (garden) salad –fresh crispy vegatables, really good croutons, excellent salad dressing.
Then came the entrée” HUGE platter
vegetable CANNED corn –nasty
mashed potatos — watery from a box –double nasty
gravy –reconstituted powder ??? triple nasty
garlic toast —very good
liver and onions — 2 large pieces –cooked to perfection with grilled onions… super good
dessert — sent it back (it was a 3.95 add-​on) dry glop of rice called «pudding» with whipped cream and cinnamon on top —NO THANK YOU. didn’t begin to resemble pudding –I’ll go get a yummy tub of Cozy Shack rice pudding –always good!
Will I order again — YES — NO side dishes! lol

Home made soups are awesone. Friday calm chowder has blog chunks of clam, not all potato like most places.

I only go here for breakfast but it is great and so is the service. Fresh OJ really makes the meal special. It’s my favorite breakfast place in Riverside. Good potatoes and they do the eggs the way you want them.

Was running errands on a Saturday (late-​morning). The hubby and I decided we were hungry and didn’t want the usual fast food. I had seen Goody’s before and pointed it out, knowing that he is a big breakfast lover. He said yes!
The outside of this place is dingy. The inside is not to bad for being an older building. The smell of breakfast was amazing. They had tons of knick knacks all around, from chef doo-​dads to coffee lover artwork, very cute and totally my bag. We apparently got their just in time, because a swarm of people walked in behind us. It only took about 5 minutes to be seated (keep in mind that the occupancy is only 110.) The staff is pretty friendly and we were greeted and served drinks rather quickly. The food only took about 20 minutes to come out, which is about the usual. It sucked a bit because we were both starving at the point. :)
In regards to the food, I would have to stay it is American/​Country classics. A majority of the breakfast platters were reasonably priced ($ 8.99,9.99,etc.). The menu was pretty extensive for such a small establishment, but my husband and I were both quite impressed with our meals. The food was tasty, not too bland. I would compare it to places like Carrow’s and IHOP.
Tips:
1) The lemonade comes with one refill only.
2) The bathrooms (women’s) has only one stall and is pretty disgusting. Only go in there after it has been cleaned, or just hold it.
3) Biscuits and gravy are delish.
4) The bacon came out crispy, so don’t ask for it crispy. (My mom and sis do this — sooo annoying)

Giddy for Goody’s!

Been eating here with my family for 4 years now. The staff are very friendly. The food is absolutely delicious. The breakfasts are wonderful. This place has very good prices and different selections on the menu, everything cooked to perfection! They also have daily specials that I guarantee you will love.

Food is great service is excellent! Yes décor is dated but your not there to admire the ambiance. You’re there to have delicious food.

Writing this review while it’s still fresh in my mind, which is more than I can say about the freshness of the food. Unilocalpers got this one right based on the past reviews and trust is built on consistency.
Ordered the NY Steak & Eggs and detected a slight foul odor about my steak and didn’t complain because Mom raved about this place. As I gazed around, I thought to myself folks here were probably about the inexpensive prices and the food matches that quality.
I’m all about small diners and appreciate how friendly the staff was but it didn’t excuse the poor quality of meat. Portion sizes were generous and yes, the place is dated but tolerable.

Big menu, but most everything seems to be just OK. Nothing jumped out at me. Solid, but not spectacular. The inside décor/​seating is pretty tired.

This is a true mom and pop shop so don’t come here expecting the world to be handed to you. If you are super picky or a complainer stay home and eat eggs that come out of a milk carton. This is an old school joint, the staff is always very nice to me and to the other customers. I’ve only been here for breakfast and it is way better than Denny’s or IHOP. A manly breakfast of large links, bacon, greasy eggs, home fries and biscuits and gravy.

Yuck! After eating here several years ago and saying that I would never go back, I ended up meeting my family here for dinner on Friday night. I should have done as I said and just never gone back.
They don’t know the difference between medium rare and well done. The waitress would rather argue about it than make it right. The clam chowder had a good enough flavor but was very thin and watery. After sending my meat back twice I finally got a greasy patty melt after the other 4 people at my table were already done with their meals. The manager at the cash register never even bothered to ask if everything was ok. Apparently he just didn’t care. I won’t even get into the depressing atmosphere of the place. Even Denny’s has a much nicer ambiance.
This was definitely my last time at Goody’s.

My family went here and my dad got an iced tea only to find some kind of slimly sludge like thing in the bottom of his glass. We told the waitress and not only was she rude but she actually stated that it was yesterdays tea. Talk about gross. The price is ok but the food isnt anything special and unless your a fan of having some kind of ghostbuster’s sludge in your drink do not come here. The new name for this place should be gooeys.

Décor is run down. Service below par. Wait time for food excessive. Food was overdone, underdone, cold… everything that could be wrong was wrong. Skip it
