I’m a nurse, I don’t care about ‘caring’ I care about SMART. I want a doctor that knows cutting edge treatment and gives you options. Dr Gill always told me what my options were and did all the lab work and scans when appropriate. She has a lot of patients because of her knowledge. Thank you Dr. Gill for guiding me through one of the most difficult times of my life.

I think Dr. Gill is a caring person but she has way too many patients. I would have to wait, most times, 2 hours past my appt time. The receptionist, Augustina, is VERYRUDE! I’m going thru chemo therapy and don’t know about my future, the last thing I need to deal with is someone greeting me with an attitude when I have an appt. She needs to treat the patients with a caring heart or find another career.

Dr. Gil is probably a nice lady, but a horrible doctor with no bedside manner. No returned phone calls whether you left them on the voicemail, or you spoke with the receptionist. The standard answer here was, «You should take her to the emergency room.» My mother had cancer and the instructions in the care book were to notify your regular physician if you had any of the listed symptoms. The regular MD, Dr. Keith Curtis was always«triple booked» so you would be told by the receptionist to go to emergency. Oncologist Dr. Gil is even worse, they never answer the phone and if you leave a message, her receptionist, Augustina, will NEVER call you back. I don’t care if you call crying at 2 am and pleading for a return call, it won’t happen. You will have to take off work in the middle of the day and drive over to get their attention or have your questions and concerns answered because you have never been through the cancer thing before and are not sure if this is par for the course. Dr. Curtis«was too busy» to come in and tell my mother her cancer had spread, so he sent in his assistant to deliver the news while he had a conversation about«Off roading» in the hallway. Additionally, my mother’s leg was swollen(the reason we were there) and they diagnosed water retention and gave her water pills and said to walk as much as she could on it. We later found out it was blood clots and she was NOT to walk on it! Dr. Gil told my mother over the phone the chemo wasn’t working and it was time to call in hospice. My mother is from the 50’s and based on her belief in her doctor, she gave up her fight at that very moment. Thanks Dr. lack of caring Gil. I was denied a 2nd opinion by RPN twice, and paid cash to take my mother to City of Hope where they said she could maintain a quality of life but her treatment needed to be changed, and to take her off of the cancer chemo pill, and now! Dr. Gil berated me in front of my mother about«not letting her die with dignity» and dragging her all over town. This was on a Thursday and Dr. Gil said she would call in hospice. On Monday evening hospice hadn’t come and I called RPN to check status. Hospice had NEVERBEEN ordered by Dr. Gil. My mother died the next morning. A week later I ran into a client who gave her condolences for my mother and told me she had cancer 20 years ago. I mentioned my mom’s oncologist and the client started crying because she too had gone to Dr. Gil and been told to put her affairs in order, and left for a second opinion and never went back. She was lucky.

Dr. Gill is a knowledgeable and caring doctor, but the office wait times are way out of line. I usually have to wait 1 ½+ hours before being seen. Very annoying.
