This store is awful the manager refused to really get 65.00 dollars that they took from me for service and didn’t actually put service on my phone threw doing bill pay just know that no matter how hard you try to get your money back threw this company! They may be a BIG company with lots of money but they are super greedy oh and they do not unlock phones even if you move somewhere where you can’t use it they don’t care they will not unlock the phone even for a charge and they took my money without giving it back or even using it as a credit and they lied made up a date that I came in saying I came in too late to get the money back that’s a lie I came in right after it went threw the bill pay so they lied about when I actually started coming down there!!!

My boyfriend and I went to this MetroPCS store last Sunday so I could buy a phone and add onto his account. I would have preferred to do this at a Wal-Mart, except the phone I wanted was on sale for $ 20 off at a MetroPCS store. We arrived 15 min. after they opened, and it was quite crowded. Only 4 of their 9 or 10 customer service kiosks was staffed, so the wait was pretty long. Once our name was called, the CS rep was friendly enough, but she could have been more informative, and let us know what she was doing. Instead, we stood there for quite a while while she did things on her computer. But before we left, my number had been ported over to their service and my phone was working. Their software that transfers your contacts from your old phone to the new was not working. That was not what I wanted to hear… I have a LOT of contacts, and had to spend several hours transferring them myself. Also, one reason I don’t like cellular company stores is the high pressure, relentless up selling they try to do. They try to sell you insurance, blue-tooth devices, speakers, cases, etc. for highly inflated prices. I learned years ago to buy those items from . As an example, their phone cases were about $ 19. I ordered 2 cases, one for each of our phones, and the grand total, including tax & shipping was less than $ 9! Our visit accomplished our goal, but was not much fun… in the future I will try my best to avoid the company stores.

So far, I haven’t had good experiences. Metro is cheap and I get reasonably good service in my area, so that’s why I’ve stayed with them. However, when my income increases, I’m switching to another company. About four years ago I had a flip phone(primitive, I know). I bought the 5 dollar/month insurance on it and had to replace it once soon after I bought it(a button was going out). A year later, the new phone is acting up again(won’t stop telling me about texts even after I answered them, camera is going out) and I go in for a replacement. The girl who looked at my phone determined there was nothing wrong with it and refused to order me another one. Essentially, I was paying the insurance for nothing. Another 6 months goes by, and then even more things go wrong with the phone(white screen when I open it, can’t use it) and I know they could no longer deny it had problems. I go in, and they tell me they don’t make my phone anymore and can’t order another one. so now for 100% sure I’m paying the insurance for nothing. The guy tells me that I can claim the insurance on the phone, but of course I have to pay a deductible for the new phone and after I looked at it, it’s a crappy phone. No way. Instead, I went back to the store and decided to upgrade to a smartphone since it was a good deal at 99 bucks. I wasn’t going to do the insurance again even though it was a smartphone, but the girl sort of tricked me into doing it again. She said I could just cancel it later if I didn’t want it… And I later rationalized that by the time I would switch to another phone, I would have paid for it in insurance with the deductible. And I know they hardly ever honor your insurance anyway, so I’m like, screw this, I’m canceling… so I go online to do it, and it costs me 30 bucks to cancel it! WTF! I never would have done it had I known that. Shady as hell… but they get the extra star because of the good service for the low monthly price.

So I go in to this location, on Van Buren, to get a replacement phone do to manufactor defect. I was greeted by a really nice young man who helped me an I told him Id be back during the weekend to finish up. When I go back there are 2 girls. One is being trained by the other. This is where it gets bad. The girl training doesnt know anything. She asked how long Ive had my phone. I say since March. She tells me oh if its been over a year its void. Really? We are in October. The trainer decides that she doesnt have time to figure it all out so she has the trainee take my money. She gives me my change and I leave. My Fiancée tells me im going to regret not recieving a reciept… So today I go to pick up my phone. I got the call on Saturday that it had arrived. I explain to the man that due to my work schedule I wont be in for a couple days. He says no problem. Well there was a HUGE problem. The trainee is there alone and she begins telling me she cant find my phone. After about the 3rd time of me asking where it is she shrugs her shoulders an says she doesnt know what to tell me. I tell her to call her manager an find the phone that I paid for. The trainee is telling me that if I had read my reciept(ya the imaginary one I never got) I would have saw that I had 10 days to pick it up or they send it back. Whatever. She calls me back to tell me that yes her boss sent it back because I didnt pick it up within 4 days!!! What the heck? Then I start debating with her about the fact that a reciept is a contract. She yells at me that it is not, an that they have a different policy than what the reciept says. I left there in a rage with no phone. I have never been to a more UNPROFESSIONAL business in my life. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and Dept of Consumer Affairs. Once those are done Im going to their corp office. I dont even want to have to go back to get my money.
