Came here after work trying to get a few drinks with my co-​workers until I got stopped by the bouncer who said ”you aren’t the guy in the picture took my ID card”. They said ”we go off of people face” and that ”they remember” the hundreds of faces that come and go. The funny thing is how they gave me the cold shoulder in explaining and disrespectfully brushed me off to the side. All in all I should’ve probably looked the how bad this place got reviewed.

This place is cool to chill with friends, mustache Mondays is a killer deal. Half off ALL drinks as long as you have a real/​fake mustache and it applies to men/​women, can’t beat that specially while you listen to some music.

Their ATM charged me 2 separate fees to use only once which is pretty lame. Bartender who made my drinks did a decent job.

In my quest to appreciate and get to know this town, I stopped here. Pixels is probably my favorite bar in Riverside because they’ve played Brit-​pop here before and it’s small, intimate and laid back. It brought back fond memories of the old Club Underground that use to take place way back in the day at Tempest on Santa Monica Blvd. They have a few good beers on tap and I think a full bar. You could go wearing your jeans and shirt and listen to good music and have a good time. I don’t believe you’ll find ratchets with short dresses and kids they left at home, here. Good times for all are to be had at Pixels!

Definitely not my scene. I’m from Sacramento and I was visiting the area. Maybe it’s the Riverside culture or maybe it’s just that bar, but the vibes were way off. I was also speechless when the bartender said they don’t serve beer in bottles so no one breaks any glass if they drop it… Is this a bar for children? If you don’t want to clean up broken glass, don’t open a bar.

This place is the best club/​bar in Riverside. I’ve first come here in 2013 and ever since then I’ve been a loyal customer.
For one… They charge no cover on all nights, you would think this is a bad thing but the staff is nice and friendly to the point where you want to give tips. This is good if you want some entertainment on a budget.
The food is amazing, this is literally the best bar food I’ve ever had. Restaurant quality and innovative, especially their avocado tacos.
The drinks are high quality and good, they know every cocktail on the block. Margaritas, vodka and red bull, gin and juice. Just name it, they also have alot of craft beers, especially in tall bottles. Stone, Rogue, Modern Times, you name it.
Every night is a surprise. You got hipster DJ mixes on Monday. A wide selection of karaōke on Tuesdays. Even video club experiences on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Best part about Wednesdays and Sundays is that their local and unique. Name one club that has consistent bands and video games. Only at Pixels baby.
They recently renovated it. The renovations are minor but well worth it. The walls are wooden, the wallpaper is flashier, there are more TVs and best of all, everything looks future chic. Plus they got everything in HD now so that’s a plus.
Downside is that the drinks/​food are pricy but hey, this is quality stuff. If you’re concerned about price, draw a mustache on Monday. Half off everything drink related. Anyways, highly recommended.

Good food, awful service unless you’re apparently a friend of the bartender. She seemed appalled at the fact that we wanted something to eat and drink. Sorry, but the place isn’t THAT cool that i just want to hang out here.

Always some decent drink special on Fridays. Rudy is the best! Only 4 stars because the music is always a hit or miss for me and the water tastes weird.

This used to be my favorite place to go and I frequented it weekly, sometimes multiple times a week. It was the only place other than MTL where I felt decently safe. I stopped going out as much and hadn’t been here in a few months, and after Saturday 2/​27, I doubt me or my friends will return. I was next in line waiting to get my ID checked when an employee named Shane kicked a homeless women in her abdomen so hard she flew off the sidewalk into the street, landing on her back. He was so proud of himself it made me sick. I called the next day to make a complaint, but I doubt they will do anything about it, so I want to let other people know what kind of behavior this establishment allows. Most of the other staff are good, but this was just not ok on any level. This employee should not be working there if he can’t handle the job. Besides this, there were 2 other fights in the span of the 2 hours I was there. I’m very sad how it has gone down because it used to be a fun place to go to.

Bar Staff not friendly, brand drinks are highly priced, for example they advertise well drinks at $ 4 but is only the very cheap, otherwise is $ 8 for a shot of rum. probably good for 18 to 25, not a serious place. Not even try to eat there.

I know this is a bar, but the food is what makes me go back. It is not your standard bar food menu.
I eat there for lunch during the week. I recommend giving it a try.

I’m not exactly sure why this bar doesn’t have better reviews. I’ve been here a few times and my experiences so far have been great. It’s more of a dive bar, so don’t expect the bartenders to be super warm and welcoming or table service to be all that spectacular. They serve the drinks and talk to the regulars. The drinks are reasonably priced. My guy and I mainly go there for the jukebox, which is the best thing about this place. Good place to go with friends or partners and just hangout, talk, and listen to your own choice of music without being bothered.

If you like a ghetto dive bar with ghetto patrons then this is the place for you. First off, their drinks are overpriced. Second, the people that come to this bar are looking to fight half the time and you feel like you have to watch your back. The music is rarely any good but they do get one star for playing a few good jams every now and then. It’s a small dance floor and messed up furniture. I wouldn’t come back here ever, I’d much rather just have drinks at Heroes down the road.

Rude bar staff, basically all the staff here is super unfriendly and treat you like peasants. Drinks are horrible but cheap. I still come back here though, go figure.

One of my favorite bars in downtown riverside! I find myself at pixels at least a couple times a month if not more. The bartenders are great people and usually help me fast when they see me at the bar. If you’re looking for a mellow atmosphere come during the day and if you’re looking for more of a party atmosphere come Thursday through Sunday after 10:30. Probably my biggest reason for coming here is their large selection of lovely craft beers!

Went to pixels last night with a couple of friends. Service is not friendly but mostly because they are busy (I’m guessing). They charged me $ 68 for 4 beverages… INSANE. If I had to guess, the cups are probably 8oz which is TINY. Although I asked for them all to be doubles, any bar or restaurant you go to will charge you for a floater which usually ranges from $ 3-​$ 6 depending on the location. This bar decided to charge me for double the drinks. They didn’t give me a larger size or two actual drinks and they definitely shouldn’t be charging $ 17 for a drink, double or not. Vegas doesn’t even charge such a ridiculous amount. The owner Lynette addressed my issue and she had no problem charging a customer $ 17 for ONE drink. I can guarantee I will never return to this location and I would not recommend it unless you want to empty your wallet.

Pixels is a hit or miss. Come on a weekday and You’ll only hear crickets. Come on a weekend and surprisingly Riverside is pretty crowded. Pixels is really small and gets really hot inside. It leans more toward the hipster vibe type of feel. However, the drinks are way over priced for what they serve at other bars near by.
I’ve been to Pixels and had a blast. But I’ve also been to Pixels and felt eh, whatever. The music varies from top hits to old indie music. Either way, I’d come back to Pixels if I was bar hopping.

I always wanted to try this place so I invited my friends to celebrate my girlfriend getting a new job. Man the drinks were great, the atmosphere was great, the people were nice. But I made the mistake of not closing my tab and left it with the bartender. We were pretty tired and tipsy so I got my receipt signed and left only to check it later and see multiple bogus items completely unrelated to the drinks I ordered and being charged 30 dollars more.
Bad first experience but my brother is a fan and thinks they made a mistake so I give them a try again soon.
