Honestly, my first experience was pretty bad. The the color wasn’t even close to the picture I showed the stylist and the cut wasn’t much better. I communicated my disappointment and she made an appointment for me with another stylist. Even if the story stops right here, this is HUGE. This is what should happen when someone is unhappy with their hair. It wasn’t that she was a bad stylist, it just didn’t work out. She recognized that and took care to get me back in asap to get my hair sorted. And she didn’t charge me! She told me that she wanted me to be happy with my hair before I paid. Now that’s service!
My second appt. was much better. This appt. was with Allison and she was able to do exactly what I was looking for. Allison is one of the only stylists I’ve met that really knows how to thin out thick hair. It’s a skill that is hard to find in any salon, so the fact that Allison is a super star with thick hair AND color makes her a perfect match for my hair.
Overall this place is great! From the ladies who run the front desk to the shampoo team to the stylists and nail techs. Whenever I call they work with my schedule to get me in as soon as possible. I love getting shampooed by the girl who studied massage techniques for the head! They stylists are great too! They each seem to specialize in something in addition to just being super awesome people. And even though scheduling is a little tough, this place has great pedicures. And don’t forget, they also give free bang trims between cuts.

I have been going to Terri at Salon D’Amore for about 4 years now and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her and the salon in general. She is always able to get me in and I always leave happy. I am the type of person that loves trying new things and she has always been able to give me a new look that I love. Whether it’s color or cut, she is able to give me exactly what I’m looking for. I am always getting complimented on my hair and I have Terri to thank! Salon D’Amore is also always clean and everyone you meet there is as nice as can be from the Front Desk to the shampoo girl. I will definitely be going there for many, many more wonderful haircuts!!!

I was so disappointed. It was my first time trying this salon because my stylist left Chicago. The place looks nice and the girl who shampooed me was nice and friendly. As for the cut? Majorly disappointing and this was from the head stylist/​owner. Part of the reason it’s nice to get a haircut and style is because you get it blow dried which is really appreciated when you have long thick hair. She didn’t even blow dry it with a round brush! I felt like I would’ve done better on a day I was rushing to work! I tried not to quickly judge the cut but I hated it. I didn’t even ask for anything too specific or difficult. I did show a few pics but she didn’t seem interested. I received very short layers that were not good for my hair type and any stylist should’ve known that. I received a $ 9.99 haircut but paid 5 – 6 times as much. Never again.

Salon D’Amore is a wonderful salon. Since going to Salon D’Amore my hair has never looked better. It is a place where you can receive styles and services customized specifically for you. Terri and her staff are professional, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. Salon D’Amore provides an exceptional level of service and care. I highly recommend Salon D’Amore to anyone, they really have the customer service and expertise. I always leave feeling like a rock star!

Love, love, LOVE my hair!!! My usual stylist is no longer in the biz, so had to find a replacement. I’m so happy I called Salon D’Amore! Brittany is AMAZING! She really knows how to cut every type of hair. Not only did she do my style, which I didn’t have an idea in mind (thank you for that), but she also cut my 11 year old and 13 year old daughters’ hair and both of them were thrilled!
We will definitely be back!

Ok– stopped in for a quick cut since it said no appointment needed. Yeah ok, can I come back in 2 hours? Um no. They had 2 customers. You just lost a very good client who spends a lot of money on good haircuts & products. Upside-​it was very clean in the salon :/​Booooo!

I wish the English language had enough words to describe the incredible depth of talent and amazing relationship provided by Allison at Salon D’Amore. She has been my stylist/​colorist/​beauty expert for… going on 8 years… wow this review is way overdue!
She initially took on my complicated case when another beautician at a previous salon couldn’t provide the specific look/​services I was requesting. Allison is confident and competent, but always learning. She consistently tells me about new classes she’s taking and techniques she’s learning, and I’m always thrilled to try out the latest trends with her.
I could elaborate on her professionalism and expertise, but I’m sure you’re also curious about the salon itself.
The front desk staff is always welcoming, and books appropriate time slots so you don’t feel rushed. The hair care product selection is totally worth every penny (in accord with the services), and every time I arrive, I’m greeted not only by hot coffee or tea, but also Mabel the salon mascot (shi tzu, who is as friendly as the whole Riverside staff). All in all, Salon D’Amore has so many components which have me returning as an extremely satisfied client, ALWAYS departing feeling great about the way I look.

I’ve been a client of Salon D’Amore since September 2013 and being new I chose a stylist sight unseen. Well, I probably should have also played the lottery that day because that was the day that I met Brittany.
I’m letting my short hair grow out and this is the first time it hasn’t been agonizing. I get so may compliments on my hair and the length. She’s generous with her expertise (I don’t blow dry my hair very well), she’s funny and it makes the appointment a true pleasure.
Everyone there is nice, professional, and very good at what they do.

I’ve gotten my hair cut here a few times (back when Salon D’Amore was in its original location) and I have also gotten a manicure at the new location. I also had my hair styled here for prom way back when.
I was very impressed with all the haircuts I got done here! One was a big 10-​inch cut and the stylist, Marie, was so wonderful and friendly. She really put my mind at ease about getting so much hair cut off. Marie also made some excellent suggestions on how to additionally trim and style my hair (side part, long layers), which I really appreciated because I’m usually not one to take risks, especially when it comes to my hair. I don’t remember who did my updo for prom, but I remember being very pleased by the result and I received a lot of compliments on it throughout the night.
The manicure I got was fine, although I have had better. But the manicurist was perfectly friendly and talkative (maybe too much so; the manicure took much longer than I expected). In the end, I was not particularly impressed by the manicure because my entire nail wasn’t covered. It felt like the actual manicure may have been rushed a little bit on account of the chattiness. That’s my theory at least. The nail polish was great, though, and the manicure lasted a long time, which I appreciated.
Really, you can’t beat having a place like this right in town in Riverside. I’ll definitely be back for a haircut when I can afford it, and I’m willing to give another manicure a shot, too.

I have been going to Salon D’Amore for about 2 years and have never had a bad haircut. My stylist Alison is awesome. Very friendly and a gives a great haircut.

This salon is very consumer-​friendly! Each of the employees make you feel right at home. Terri, the owner, has been cutting and highlighting my hair for several years. I used to change hairdressers once every couple of years — but not since I started going here. Terri knows what cuts will or will not work on my thick, wavy hair. If you call and Terri’s not available, try one of the other great stylists. At Salon D’Amore, you will get high-​end salon treatment — and pay much less than in the city and other suburbs!

I recently got my hair cut short (as in, I got ten inches of hair cut off), and I have a bit of a story about my experience at Salon D’Amore.
I had wanted to get my hair cut for quite a while, but it was just a matter of figuring out who would cut my hair. I did go to Brittany before to get a trim and she did a very nice job, but she’s shy and I wasn’t sure if she enjoyed cutting my hair, which is why I hesitated going to her again at first. My mom had an appointment with Brittany and I went with her, hoping they accepted walk-​in clients. Luckily, Terri (the owner) said she’d cut my hair. I showed Terri a couple pictures of how I wanted my hair to look. She cut my hair very quickly, didn’t cross-​check it, and also styled it dramatically differently than the pictures I showed her. However, I thought it looked nice and went home. Once I washed my hair the next day, I noticed that it was longer than I had wanted it to be, and it was also noticeably crooked (one side was about a half-​inch to an inch longer than the other side). It was also too thick on the bottom and flipped out, which annoys me. So, I asked my mom to call the salon so we could make an appointment to get my hair fixed by Brittany because I didn’t want Terri to mess it up again (I was too upset and angry to call them myself). Terri called my mom back and said she was «shocked» that I didn’t like it, and said, «Well, she liked it when she left the salon.» My mom told her it was crooked, to which Terri responded, «I’m a good hairdresser! If you want Brittany to fix it, fine, but I taught her all she knows.» Wow. She didn’t have to get defensive OR rude. She should have cross-​checked her work and asked ME how I wanted my hair styled so we’d have noticed that it was crooked.
Brittany called my mom to schedule an appointment, and was really nice about fixing my hair. She said these things happen, and it was no big deal. We went back, she fixed my hair, cut about another inch off the ends (about a half-​inch from the side that was crooked), cross-​checked her work, used the razor to thin the ends a bit, straightened it, and didn’t charge for it. I love my hair now! Brittany does a very great job and she’s very professional.
It’s disappointing that the owner of Salon D’Amore has such a defensive attitude about making mistakes. If it weren’t for Brittany and her mellow attitude, I would probably consider going to another salon.

I just love this place. It’s very comfortable and beautiful! The best part is Rose, my stylist, because she does exactly what I want every time I see her! She’s so amazing that even my boyfriend is one of her regular clients. She keeps us both looking our best! If you are wondering what she is particularly good at I would say EVERYTHING! She has cut my hair so many times, given me the best highlights of my life, and never takes too much off my boyfriend’s hair which I love!

Love Salon D’Amore and Terri ! Terri has cut and colored my hair for years and she listens and does a great job. I’m alway complemented on my hair by other people. Great nail and massage service too !!

Being a natural redhead, I was reluctant to add color when my hair started to fade. Thankfully, I went to Salon D’Amore and put my hair into Terri’s talented hands. My color and highlights are amazing and I love how she cuts and styles my hair. There is a good vibe in the shop where the stylists are hip and the atmosphere is beautiful. I’m so glad it’s in my neighborhood but I would travel for this kind of treatment.

Had my hair highlighted my Britney, and it looks awsome!!! She was able to nail my color on the first try!!! I will return for sure…

I have been getting my hair done by Terri Tabor, the owner, for about ten years now (before she opened up Salon D’Amore). I cannot say enough good things about her, or her hair styling abilities! She always gets it right. I am constantly getting compliments on my cut and color and all credit is due to Terri! It also costs about half as much as other salons I’ve been to in the city.
I am getting my hair done here for my best friend’s wedding in a couple of weeks (as is the bride, her mom and sisters) and we’re having Terri do our hair and Shannon our makeup. I have no doubt they will do a fantastic job and make us look beautiful for the big day! I highly recommend Salon D’Amore, where you’ll receive better service for less than other area salons.
