Phone number is out of service and I stopped by during regular business hours and it was closed. I think this place is out of business.

Here you go, all the stuff the you didn’t know you needed, until you see it there, nestled in between an old rotary phone and a Ouija Board. Seriously though– some great stuff here. Sure, similar finds can be had at other consignment stores, second hand furniture stores, etc… but here there’s MORE of it to choose from! This place is huge. Take your time– I didn’t even make it to the basement. I took too long in the record room(That’s right, an entire room just full to rafters with vinyl; some vintage, some brand new & unopened!) I found a sealed Glasvegas album and an old Warren Zevon record in near mint condition. The owner is super friendly. It’s no secret; he’s ready to make a deal. Next time I’ll bring more money, and I’ll come prepared to spend the afternoon«treasure hunting»…

My first time to yesterday’s news– which I found on a Unilocal search for a new thrift shop(sick of savers over priced junk)… And I was more than pleasantly surprised to discover this gem. Whatever your looking for, there is something to be found for you here. And an extra star goes to the awesome shop owner– a high energy, super friendly, and eclectic individual who is motivated to sell and knowledgable about the items he has.(Bonus points — he was rocking out to the Lorde album –on vinyl– when I arrived). Loved this place and I will definitely be back.

You have no IDEA how huge this place is from the outside. And it’s positively packed with awesome, interesting, curious, cool, special STUFF! I never see more than a couple of other shoppers here at once, but somehow they manage to constantly be flipping the goods. The owner(a bit«out there» but harmless) is always repeating«New things every day! I have nowhere to put it all!» and it’s true. Most of the inventory is from estate sales, so prices are very reasonable and openly negotiable from there — a great thing about shopping here is the price is truly the intersection of what it’s worth to you and what he’s willing to part with it for… very motivated to move that stuff out the door to make room for more. They also spruce up damaged furniture by refinishing/painting/whatever it needs to be «showroom ready». I was thrilled to find a long-desired retired library card catalog unit! Thing is, it was given the repair of a new top(taken from a 1970’s bureau or something) that unfortunately did no justice to match the gorgeous original solid oak. Still elated to have found this… and my hesitancy saved me half off the asking. In general: furniture, dishes, lamps, purses, baskets, wall art, jewelry, knicknacks… Don’t miss the record/music room in the back or the basement! I missed it the first time.

Yesterday’s News offers a HUGE selection of great vintage and antique offerings for yourself and your home. I went in looking for the perfect parlor mirror and I found at least 4 different options that were all well priced. Antique dining sets, lamps, dishware, artwork, jewelry, a whole records and music room, and even a basement area full of tools and industrial items. As someone else mentioned they don’t have much for clothing but I’ve never been into vintage clothing anyway so that doesn’t bother me. Some shops claim to sell vintage and antique when they really should be saying they sell junk but not at Yesterday’s News. The owners obviously take great care when buying for the shop. I will definitely be making frequent stops into Yesterday’s News from now on!

What a great store and the couple who own it could not be friendlier. I will certainly be back to find even more treasures!

This store popped up last summer in the building that formerly was Meadowcrest Pharmacy. I wanted to stop in here partially because it looked interesting, but mostly because I remember going into the pharmacy years ago with my grandma and couldn’t picture it as anything else.(If you’re curious, yes, you can see the shape of the old pharmacy still and the pharmacist is still alive and well.) Before you go in, you should know that this is more towards the furniture end of the vintage spectrum than the clothes end. Among things I eyed were a lovely melamine vanity that tragically wouldn’t go in my house and oh, the neat souvenir glasses! There was a nice cache of hobnail milkglass and a bit of vintage advertising towards the back. No pyrex for me, but the owner says it comes in pretty often. And speaking of the owner, he’s worth an extra half star himself. He was very knowledgable both about what I was looking for and my remembrances of the Good Olé Days. He’s one of those people who you start talking to and feel like you’ve known them for years. Extra points because he mentioned he had vintage frames, which was the other thing I was looking for. I walked out very happy. I’m betting you will too.
