Pecks Chicken

Waited over 30 minutes on 1÷14÷2016 for some chicken. Watched the people come in after me and get served chicken. Apparently they don’t serve people equally if their friends come in for food. Excuse from the manager was baloney.
Avoid this place. It used to be good. Not anymore.

I went Bc I saw some good reviews on Unilocal and they lived up to my expectations. Pulled pork is amazing and the bbq sauce is just as good! The cashier was very friendly and helped it out with my order (because it was my first time).

I wish I could write 0 stars but that is not an option. I purchased food for my family there this evening. One of the meals that was placed in my to-​go bag was placed in a broken styrofoam container. As I grabbed the container, food spilled out everywhere. I asked them to rectify the situation. I brought everything up to them in the faulty container so they could see what happened. They stated I would have to pay for another combo meal at full price, even charging me for another drink (which I do not need as I clearly have a drink from the first combo meal I just purchased ten minutes prior). I asked for it to be double boxed as the packaging it comes in is clearly flimsy (now that I’m essentially now paying $ 20 for a chicken pita in total). The person who ends up being the OWNER even gives me a hard time about asking to have it double boxed. Sad, sad service. I will not be returning. You should at least make an attempt to take care for your customers. The checkout girl, manager (owner’s wife), and owner could have cared less. I’ve bought countless meals from here for my family of seven. My first issue and the service couldn’t be worse. If that’s how Peck’s chooses to treat their customers, I can assure them I can find chicken elsewhere.

I love this place! We stop here regularly for their chicken and grape leaves. The grape leaves are some of the best I’ve ever had and their tsatziki sauce is perfect! The chicken is perfectly seasoned and cooked: very juicy and flavorful. The only things I’ve tried and not liked were the mashed potatoes because they seemed like powdered, and the collard greens just weren’t that great. The warm pita bread they send is great too! I love this place and will continue to recommend!

I know they are known for their chicken & ribs but BEST gyros that I’ve had in the area so far! Love their tzatziki sauce! Plus: gyro, side & drink for 7.95…can’t beat that!

Thank God Popeyes is coming to Riverview, been her x 2, but never again. Prices are outrageous for dry chicken and small sides that have sat for hours. They will be joining the 5 guys they replaced.

Their Chicken is finger licken yummy and the tasty, meaty Barbeque Ribs are even better! Rice and blackbeans are right on point because I can flavor them the way I prefer. They’re not stingy with the french fries either which I can appreciate ’cause I love me some fries! The pita bread was a surprise addition to the platter and delish with the honey-​butter or use it to eat the barbecue. The kids really enjoy this Pecks as well. The staff are great and will bend over backwards to please your family. Pecks, located just off 8203 US Hwy 301 S has a friendly, family atmosphere kind of vibe. The portions are huge so you get your moneys worth. They also serve Breakfast with Eggs to order in the morning.

Went for the first time last week and was shocked at how awesome it was. I pass it everyday on 301 and never noticed it. It’s now my new favorite place to get ribs. They fell off the bone, so tender! Love it!

Great chicken great pitas fabulous staff! Love love love the cold packs (12 pcs 4.99) perfect for making chicken salad or warming up on the grill! Love this place:)

Been here a lot of times and the food is always on point. this is one of my favorite place to dine in.

This place is grossly overrated! What the freak! Our ToGo order was shockingly bad. One star is 1 star to many.
The parboiled ribs were tasteless except for the BBQ sauce. The chicken was dried out and tasteless with some indescribable unpleasant taste. The greens had a burnt taste like they were scraped from the bottom of the pot. The Mac & Cheese was the worse I’ve eaten in my life. I do not see how you can screw up a BOX of Mac & Cheese this bad. It could not be a box of Kraft. It had to be some generic brand. For starters the pasta was super overcooked. It was a gooey, pasty mess.
True, the portion sizes were more than adequate If you want plenty of grossness (If this is not a word, it should be.) The four of us were seriously disappointed. Never again.

This is one of those little places that only locals know about. I went today for the first time although I’ve driven 1000 times. Now I’m mad. Why didn’t I go before? The chicken is so moist and seasoned just perfectly. I got the yellow rice & black beans & green beans. Also delicious! Definitely a must try!

Ordered their 2 piece white chicken meal with a garden salad, yellow rice and black beans as sides. Meal was very good. Tasted great. Meat serving was a little low. Price good. Good service.

This is the best lunchtime BBQ. I rate places according to their peers, and this is just great BBQ chicken. Low key, give them a try and I’m pretty sure you’ll be a return customer.

There aren’t many places like this. Lunch special is $ 6.00 and totally worth it! Everything is fresh, the chicken is moist and cooked to perfection. This is a great little local place with some of the best chicken around. They aren’t open on Sunday or I would be ordering my lunch during football games from here, yes it is that good!

Recently stopped by Pecks Chicken for some take-​out. Their lunch special is only $ 5.75 for chicken and two sides which is definitely a good deal. My friends and I shared an assortment of the sides including potato salad, fried okra, french fries, cole slaw, mac and cheese, rice, and black beans. Each order came with a pita bread.
The chicken itself was flavorful — certainly on the bar-​b-​que side of things. Not the most moist chicken I have ever had, but satisfactory. What I really enjoyed were the sides though. The mac and cheese was excellent and creamy. The cole slaw was to my level of sweetness. Surprisingly I even liked the okra which is something I tend to shy away from.
The lady at the register was friendly, although I don’t think I would actually eat inside the place because it has a very diner-​like feel to it. Parking was a bit of a mess, especially getting out of the place, but it was accessible nevertheless.
Pecks is certainly worth the price, especially for lunch. I heard their ribs are delicious and they recently sent me a tweet with a photo of their fried ribs which I will have ot leave for a future visit.

Amazing! Chicken was so fresh, mashed potatoes and gravy was delicious! I saw one person review that it’s instant potatoes– not true; the mashed potatoes and gravy were obviously homemade. The pita fries were incredible– just wish they had hummus to go along with them. Definitely a new favorite and will go back many times in the future! My boyfriend had the gyro and said it was one of the best gyros he’d ever had.

I actually like Pecks. It’s not the sides or anything else that make this place. The chicken is actually really good-​flavor-​able and moist.
I love how when you purchase a family meal, they give you pitas. All the other places give you a roll but Pecks gives pitas.
There’s nothing special about the side dishes but they aren’t bad. Canned veggies and instant mashed potatoes. My kids really like the Mac & cheese.
As for environment, I’ve never sat down and at there, only order out. I don’t think the atmosphere is my style but it’s a mom & pops place and that’s that.
Overall this is a great place to stop by and grab something for dinner when you don’t feel like cooking. I doubt you will be disappointed with their chicken :)
