The Alley At Southshore

This was a great bowling alley in Apollo Beach. I’m still trying to figure out how I ended up at that side of the bay, but whatever. It was clean, staff was friendly, great selection of drinks and, believe it or not, they had damn good pizza. Nothing spectacular, but by far the best bowling alley pizza I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s because I had some drinks beforehand, I don’t know. It still puzzles me. It was slightly undercooked, but still very, very good. I think it was my favorite part of the night, besides bowling 157 and kicking ass.
Lane/​game setup was very intuitive and they had a decent selection of balls (which weren’t handled by greasy hands; I hate that). I’d say it’s a half family/​half adult alley; there was definitely a mix of the two. That’s all I can remember. Like I said, drinks beforehand. But I recommend you go to The Alley, bowl and eat pizza!

I’m giving this a 5 star because it’s the coolest thing in the area. Something fun for the whole family. Restaurant and full bar, pool tables, bowling lanes, and really fun arcade area. It’s not the most modern or cleanest or newest but it’s fun and it serves as it was intended. I’ve been 3 times so far and had great experiences. No complaints! I’ll definitely be back!

Of all the bowling alleys I have been to, the Alley is by far the best. There is something here for everyone regardless if you are a bowler or not.
Walking in, you can tell immediately this is not your average bowling alley. First of all, It’s clean! Also, there is a lot more to do then just bowl and drink beer. In fact they have a very large arcade with some unique games. They have room of pool tables with about 6 tables. They have a small dinning room for guests that are just looking for a night of casual dinner and drinks. They have a screened patio for guests that like the fresh air with out the misquotes (or not so fresh air for smokers).
They have two bowling rooms. The smaller room is available for private parties and when there is not a private party it is a few dollars extra to be in this room because the seats are more comfortable and there are large screens showing music videos. This room also has less lighting for a little more «club like» atmosphere. The main room is a typically bowling alley until Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays when all bowling lanes go «cosmic» with disco balls and black lights. On Fridays and Saturdays they serve food and full bar until closing at 2:30 am and it is nice to grab some munchies with your drinks.
I’m not a huge bowling fan, mostly because I’m horrible at it, but my friends and family are big fans. When we do go, I insist we come to the Alley.

My family and I love visiting when we’re in town. It’s a *NICE* bowling alley. Not any of those where we’re from. The prices are in line with other bowling alleys I’ve been to, and even if they weren’t, I’d pay more to bowl here because it’s clean and doesn’t make me cringe. It’s fun and they have lots of other things to do, play pool, arcade, eat ice cream, have a beer/​drink, eat dinner, etc. The bathrooms were clean too. Good times!

Paid $ 48 for a family of three to bowl 90 minutes on a Sunday afternoon and had to clear our own lane of the debris left over from the people before us after waiting 15 minutes for a lane attendant to do so. This is the second time we’ve been appalled by the management/​staff lack of care — first we thought was a fluke, it unfortunately seems to be the new norm. Previously we played league from here and rarely had a complaint; shamefully the management and handling of business here has declined well below being acceptable.

This place would get 5 stars if the food was better. That said for a bowling alley, the menu diversity is pretty great.
First off let’s make it clear — this place is awesome in general. It’s a huge venue with a big arcade, 2 separate bowling alleys sections and a big enough restaurant area. There’s even a Lazer Maze challenge thing where you can pretend to be Ethan hunt (Mission impossible). The staff is very kind if not a bit slow. They had 1 person working the front desk when they should’ve had 2 and there were employees just standing around.
When we asked an employee to change the channel he spent a good ten minutes trying to find the event we were looking for — very cool and very helpful.
If I lived in the area I would definitely be back.

What a great place to hang out with friends. Though the wait was long for a lane (45 minutes on Friday), there’s a great, giant sports bar to sit and have drinks while waiting. The lanes are typical, but it’s a fun environment, tons of things to do all around: the sports bar, which they have food in, a smaller snack bar to get a pitcher of beer and some snacks while bowling, then an entire game section with tickets and prizes.
We got nachos and they were way beyond our expectations for a bowling snack. They were HUGE, definitely enough to satisfy all four of us, including our two big and hungry husbands! There were all the toppings, including guac, in a mountain of deliciousness. We highly recommend spending some time here and enjoying all the fun and delicious aspects!

This is one nice bowling alley.
I honestly would never have known that this place existed if it wasn’t for my work scheduling events here. Most recently we rented out the entire Alley for 4 hours on a Saturday night. Everyone had so much fun!
The bowling area is huge. There is also a full restaurant/​bar area that makes you feel like you are not even in a bowling alley. There are also a ton of other games such as pool, darts, and a full arcade.
The food was much better than typical bowling alley fare and the staff was very friendly. I likely won’t be a regular here due to it’s inconvenient distance from my home, but I can certainly appreciate what a clean and nice bowling alley this is!

It’s a bowling alley and I really did’t expect much… But it is a great place for the family, for a ladies night, for a date night or for a guys night. Tuesdays is Kids Eat Free with purchase of adult meal AND half price games. It is a great deal but their prices are excellent all the time thus making family nights and date nights affordable and fun any night of the week.
I have only bowled a few times, I generally sit in the bar area so the kids can play in the game area or play pool. All activities are fun and affordable. The layout separates the bowling from the bar/​food and pool area. So you don’t have the noise of bowling from the rest of the activities.
The food is bar food at a great price, the wings are excellent, the pizza is great for kids and everyone loves the ice cream.
The services is hit or miss but never «bad». I tend to request certain servers to avoid the younger servers who mean well but seem preoccupied.
I recently hosted an event at the Alley and highly recommend this venue for an event. We were unsure of the head count so we planned the menu with optional add-​ons that could be added if needed. All in attendance had a great time and the service was top notch.

This is a family friendly bowling Alley. There is a nice little restarunt and ice cream shop inside the alley. The food and ice cream is pretty good. There is a cute arcade for the kids. The lanes are pretty well oiled. There is a large room with multiple lanes and a smaller more quaint room with just a few lanes. There are specials if you bowl early.

Had paid for my sons birthday party w/“party host” here and some of my son’s birthday gifts went home with another kids party and we got a call that it was returned to find out they switched gifts since our friends told us exactly what it was and included a gift receipt with item description. Also we reserved 2 lanes and 1 Lane broke down before we could use it. Not worth the expense or lack of host/​hostess to run the party and stress behind the security of having things stolen. For the same money I have had better parties at Ice Forum/​Pump it Up/​YMCA/​Brandon Skates and never had gifts stolen or had to run the party myself.

This is such a fun place to come and hang out. I have been in the area for about 4 months and I came here for the first time with some peers for an outing. I liked it so much that I came back with the family.

Wow this place is massive. I recently came here for a friendly work bowling competition and we had a great time! The prices are reasonable, they have a great food and alcohol section and the place is super clean. I was surprised to see they have a massive arcade inside, complete with a laser tag room. Definitly a fun place to visit!

I always have fun here and the bar/​food is pretty darn good. The crowd can be made up of questionable groups, playing bad pool and even worse music — anywhere from bikers to hoodlums (yes, I just used that term and here’s another one) riff raff, wanna-​be gang banger’s etc. But who cares as long as nobody starts a fight. I always enjoy beer and bowling and this place may not be a standout but its not bad either. We’ll come again.

I don’t come here much. It’s always crowded-​but that’s typical at any bowling alley in the area.
The people at the counter are usually nice and same with at the little restaurant there.
They seem to keep it pretty clean so that’s a plus.
There seems to be several lanes here too.
Holding an event here is a little pricey tho.

I’ve been here on more than one occassion since the local bowling hangout is not too far from where we live.
Atmosphere — it’s mostly flooded with kids and teens who are hanging out away from their parents, just being honest. They hang out front and in the gaming area and even in the bar where they shouldn’t be. It’s a very kitchy place to go unless it’s rented out for a special event (which we’ve been here for and when it’s emptier it’s enjoyable)
Service — the staff in the bowling area is pretty friendly. Our bartenders hadn’t been the nicest.
Food — if you want bar food, you’ve got it. Nothing healthy is on the menu and it’s all pre-​made fried wings or appetizer foods like cheese sticks. Pizza is tiny and pre-​made and frozen.
We have come here for work events and also if friends want to meet up to bowl, but it’s not a destination I’m super thrilled about going to on my own.

Wife and I signed up for summer leagues, what fun! We haven’t actually bowled here yet and I’m giving them 4 stars based on what we saw when we signed up. The place actually has two alley sections, the main one which is huge, 24 lanes which was packed with children’s birthday parties. There is another section with 8 lanes that are available when league play is on and it is appointed very nicely. The GM of the lanes who helped us was awesome and I apologize not remembering his name. The place was busy, clean and felt right, just like a bowling alley should. I hope our experience stays this good or is better when play starts.

What a surprise this was when we walked in. I’ve been bugging my husband for a while to join a league just to have something to do and to meet some people here in Florida, Well, we finally went to check this place out.
To the left as you walk in is a good sized Arcade area, Don’t know about you, but I’m still as kid at heart and love to play games. Hubby is a «claw» addict and they had a couple of them to play too,
To the right as you walk in is a café where you can sit and have something to eat, and there is a bar there as well.
A little further in is the desk where you register to play, as well as a stand that had numerous flyers with league and activities info. They have I believe 24 lanes, which were all taken up by birthday parties and is was «Cosmic: bowling for the kids with black lights and very loud music. Near the end was a small shop that sold shoes, balls, bags etc. They also had a VIP bowling area, Eight or ten secluded lanes that were decorated very nicely. All lanes are electronic. No more adding up the scores.
We spoke a bit with the Manager. He was extremely nice. Answered all our questions about leagues and the venue itself. He said we could bowl in the VIP section if we wanted to give it a try, but we didn’t have socks on and really didn’t need to buy a new pair so we passed.
From what we saw this place is great. Staff we dealt with were great, and, we signed up for a summer league! Can’t wait to throw those gutter balls !!!

I’ve been to this place a couple of times in the past few years. The first was for an event in the private VIP room. This is a great spot to have a small semi-​private event where you are secluded from the general buzz of this place. The lanes in this room have an interesting TV screen décor as the backdrop and it’s own bar area. The food was pretty ho-​hum and nothing to write home about. Pretty customary for a bowling alley.
The most recent event I attended was a work event where the entire place was rented out for our private party. The staff was pretty attentive at all three of the bars they had going and were on the ball to get people their shoes at the counter. Other staff that I noticed working very hard were the food servers who were all over and always around to help out with keeping the consumables well stocked. I’m sure it wasn’t cheap for my company to do this, but they got their money’s worth from the facility and staff.

We just moved here from Texas and this alley was near our home, so we tried it out. To out amazement, it turned out to be an awesome place!
There is a very large and clean arcade area for the kids. The alleys are well kept and clean. Food is actually really good for bowling alley food.
We ended up joining a league and so did our kiddos. Great family place and leagues are very organized.
